She's built up quite a reputation for double speak. Funny how she never mentions the fact that other European countries took far more slaves across the Atlantic than Britain ever did. Spain and Portugal were responsible for the transportation of over 7 million - Britain 2 million, France 2 million. Nor does she acknowledge that it was the actions of Britain and the British Navy that stopped it all and that 20,000 sailors lost their lives doing so. Nor does she bother to mention that the British established a homeland for the rescued slaves in a country called Sierra Leone.

They never ever do acknowledge that the slave traders were black getting rich off the slave trade. They were brought to the islands where the sugar plantations were not to England. When English ships would go after the slave traders ships and this is back in the 1700’s they would throw the slaves over board chains and all rather than get caught with the slaves. Why don’t they educate themselves on the actual facts of slave trade and not just scream for Money and an Apology we do in America mostly by educating ourselves on the topics. Knowledge is a powerful thing.

I'd have to go in knowing it would take a supreme effort to simply cover salient points and not get drawn into immediately reacting to hateful things she reels off, usually many at a time pretending she's make 1 point and then make you out to be rude if you interrupt. I think she's been on a learning curve though and stopped being shouty like before. Cleaver, but also telling, in so much as she must have realised she lost the arguments and has modified her way of speaking so her loss is harder to spot and she can claim to be rational via the way she conducts herself while still not seeing her own hatred, hypocrisy and annoying habit of spouting 10 nasty points in the guise of making 1 point.

I'm a bit late to the show on this one; but I felt compelled to comment regardless of that fact. I've always appreciated when someone makes an intellectual argument versus an emotional one. Facts matter more than feelings when it comes to making informed decisions regarding what to do in a society - whether that be historical monuments or even the social side of things as well. I genuinely hate that our own problem spread to other nations. But it's also very refreshing - and always will be - when someone makes rational arguments about these things. Good on you, and thank you for speaking what many of us to believe is the truth. History should be preserved for the education of the present and the future.

You are failing because of the "rapid onset of diversity". If I go to London do I go to eat curry or fish with smashed peas? What about the black slave traders who had white slaves, I bet they defend their History. No one should be tearing down statues in any country regardless of who it is.

@@HeirToTheScarletSky Nobody's defending slavery. Africans enslaved each other for hundreds of years before Colston was born. They continued enslaving each other after Colston died. Colston participated in a slave trade which Africans themselves had created. Britons themselves were the victims of Moorish slavers for hundreds of years before the Royal Navy ended their trade.

​@@raypurchase801yup so true. I'm an englishman living in South Africa,worked many years in the middle east. Shocking how each race treats their own race,it seems to be due to social status. But they all seem to be haters of the Europeans. It is something that must be bred into them. That's how they roll. Fact is,the Europeans are much more caring,sharing,understanding and much more skilled than they. We don't pull social status on them. I've been in rest rooms on breaking,the Indians have one guy to pour some "top" guys tea,another to put x10 sugars in it,and another to stir it. The "top" guy was well bellow the Europeans skill wise on site. The same here in South Africa. A wealth African would rather spit on a street beggar than give him/her r5. Us Europeans would NEVER think of acting with such disgusting behavior. I've seen it,because I live it.

100% agree... she is making a fortune from spreading hate and misinformation on every TV channel she can get a seat on. But the more I hear about this woman...the more I understand what a vile organisation BLM really is, and if this is their spokeswoman... it really is enlightening to know what a woke organisation it is.

One of the female founders of BLM took a large chunk of the millions in BLM donations and bought a nice house in a gated, almost exclusively white community here in the United States.

He is gambling on the notion that most people doesn't know a lot about the slave trade and black people history. So most of the things he say sounds good to white people. If you start to read some of the books on slavery or watch some of the documentaries on KZread you will see that he is just performing for his dinner. Trying to look relevant in white society.

She is despicable.

There was a petition that had 11,000 signatures. That's it. I'm from Bristol too so I looked into it at the time when I was debating with someone about the vandalism.

This is not the first debate I’ve watched Iman take part in, and I can’t believe how obnoxiously condescending and patronising she acts each time. Her rhetoric is extremely damaging to society, and she has no shame whatsoever, quite the contrary in fact; she’s proud of herself. She continually interrupts and insults you, and then raises her voice and tells you to “let her finish” to hammer home her ill conceived ideas. Then, she faces you right on, and in a dirty little attempt to derail you she smiles at you condescendingly while you speak. So utterly rude, aggressive, and appalling behaviour. You had more patience than she deserved, spoke eloquently, and dismantled her nonsense. Great job 👏

We put a statue up of a dude who OD'd while getting arrested like he's some sorta hero. America has lost the plot.
