I have watched 13th. My best friend and I are so overwhelmed by the information. I want everyone to know that we, as white women, are pissed that we were taught by our "leaders" to question and fear blacks. I grew up in the 80's. When watching the turmoil surrounding race relations I had no clue it was perpetuated by the system. I was well aware of the divide, and thought black people were just mad about slavery. When in fact there is so much more to it. I, in spite of the climate, still chose to treat people around me with respect. I always felt like if the black people who I interacted with could see that I wasn't judging them, that I had empathy and kinda understood, they would do the same and eventually we could work our way out of hate. Well, I see we have a long road, but a much wanted mutual destination of love, acceptance and unity!!

i come from a poor country, we had really bad times that are not very far behind when people didn't have anything to eat because everything was rationed , we had no freedom , we couldn't protest, we were ruled by a dictator but i never saw a message like this where someone would say that stealing from other people and destroying their lifetime investment was justified! This is the most stupid thing i ever heard! What about hard working or studying or just moving your ass and organize yourself into a better community ? We also had protests recently with hundreds of thousands of people coming into the street and fighting corruption and injustice , but nobody destroyed anything and people even gathered the trash they produced and lots of them stay to clean the street after. When rioters and agitators tried to turn the protests violent they separated from them and publicly separated themselves from bad people. And we managed to stop the corrupt people changing the law and at the next vote we massively voted against them. I see lots of people praising her in the comments! Why ? Imagine that it was you that was robbed or your house attacked and everything stolen from you, would you still agree then?

I am not white, I do not know what it is to have white privilege in America. This video is about “BLACK LIVES MATTERS”. All lives matters is irrelevant at this point. Kimberly, thank you for this. Thank you for helping us understand. I am a woman in my 50's. We were never taught ANYTHING about MLK, blacks, racism, or that piece of history in school. I will be honest...I knew there was racism but never recognized it for what it was. I never really understood. I never understood about what exactly happened for all these years. And it breaks my heart to hear the conversations moms have to have with their kids- especially their sons- just so they get home safely. I also realized it's not just our police system that needs to be rebuilt- it's literally everything. Our laws and opportunities were not created for "equality." That is evident- and must change. And this is why truthful American history needs to be taught in school. It would go a long way to helping black and white ppl understand each other. The problem is they only want to teach about the black leaders who preached Christianity and waiting on Jesus to save us. The leaders who want to take action and condemn white supremacy are either Assassinated, imprisoned or systemically demonized/criminalized. 50 years ago it was Malcom , Black Panthers, MLK .... Today its BLM.

So I’m 24 and while I was in school I was taught about the civil rights movement. Other students and myself were taught that the civil rights and MLK was the end of systematic racism and that everyone is equal now. They put it in our heads that this shit doesn’t exist anymore and I think one of the reason we’re seeing so many more riots and protests now is largely because of it. We have so many people in this country that just don’t understand why people are protesting, they struggle to understand BLM because they were indoctrinated to believe that all these problems had already been solved and this is so harmful to society. We need to listen to black voices because the reality we were taught is not the reality we live in.

Although being a 65 year old white male I have come to acknowledge I can never fully understand what the black race has endured. I see we need to change, but sadly I’m not sure what the answers are. I will start with me, I will be open minded to the views of others. And I hope when faced with the wrong doings of my fellow man, I will stand, and do the right thing.

This is the core thing and this is why those windows are broken. Take care, people. And let me write these three letters for the first time in my life with deep empathy - BLM!

(now owned by Hasbro) swindled the rights from Magie. Incidentally they opted for one set of rules over the other. No prizes for guessing why.

@@jhozan Well first off, we've given POC actually race based advantages for ALL government contracting, grants, university admittance, and bank loans for ~3 solid generations now. The 20 Trillion dollars of LBJ's "War On Poverty" had as its focal point the black populations - so the country could have less racial strife (it didn't work). Also, it wasn't simply giant corporations that were burnt - many stores and franchises that were burnt were black owned. They've also destroyed any future prospects the city has for success as capital tends to flee if the environment isn't stable or risky. She blames television for people stealing televisions and computers, embarrassingly treating them like children. Actually look into the history of Tulsa, it's telling about how group identity can make a person dumb and ravenous - like this woman here. I'm Italian. We were thrown out of our Newark because of racial attacks and riots; so we know first hand how racism can poison a human's mind.

I never really completely “got it” - I still don’t. I can’t... because I’m a white American. Like many of the other commenters, this choked me up. I’ve watched it multiple times now... How could I possibly understand the experience of being black and subjected to the subtle yet profound undertones and undercurrents of a society which hasn’t “gotten it” either. Like many others in American society, I’ve always thought of myself as progressive, tolerant, and accepting of all races and ethnicities. But there is that “privileged” hidden part of myself that questions why so many blacks live in poverty and end up in the “criminal justice” system - surely they need to be accountable for their own actions right?? I’ve condemned the looters and disagreed with the violence for defeating the “cause”. I admit it, but this video has opened up doors for me, and I thank Kimberly Jones for turning on a light in me and for providing me with a perspective I never had before I watched this.

She is an awesome powerful speaker and like anything else in life, when you don't understand something, you have to be willing to listen and learn. There are many books out there, Howard's was my eye opener, I hope you find one out of the many that furthers your education about this issue.

The waiting list to get into America is 100000 miles long and the crazy thing is is America is 5% of the world's population yet accounts for nearly half of all legal immigration every year and Democrats are pushing for more. I wonder why that is. If those immigrants coming in here illegally were voting Republican 75% of the time those same Democrats would be manning the border with the AR-15s that they hate so much ensuring that not one immigrant crossed the border. It would be hilarious to see Maxine and Nancy out there walking around in their fatigues with an AR over their shoulder. They can't let Joe Biden go because he would forget who to shoot and it would be like a nfac rally led by the failed rapper Grandmaster Jay. Then i go my ass to work all fn day..i have constant worry for my children..are they learning..are they dressed appropriately..did i spend enough time with each one..are they hangn with the wrong crowd..what can i do for to help their future...these are constant worries all the while busting my ass all fn day..then its time to go home but my day aint done..dinner needs to be made..dishes done..tidy up the home..make sure kids doing homework if they have it..get them showered up n settled down..get them to bed at decent time..now i make lunches for the next day and prep a meal for the next day if needed...then i get maybe 40 minutes to myself n shower n bed then start all over again the next day..weekends are filled with driving kids to sporting or dance events all while juggling errands n chores..(monday comes real quick.).. Its that bit of joy we find in between that keeps us going..keeps us fighting another day focusing on the big picture..this is the type of shit some minority claim whites have so easy...this shit aint easy..trust me im not feeling privileged... We work it..we stay focused on the big picture..instead of buying weed n fn jordan sneakers i try n save my money..i focus on my life n my kids well being so they dont go down the wrong path..this is our focus.. Not bling bling on my fn neck n fingers..ok..not what kind of fn car i drive or how dope my clothes are.. ..you want to be my equal?????? Then mother fn act like it...dont try n force me to feel like your my equal..be my equal...when you do that only then i will consider you my equal with respect gladly...instead they dummy down certain systems so minority can work at jobs they never qualified for..that doesnt sound like equality to me..dont let them use the race card when they act up n get called out for it...that aint equal..earn it.. People will always respect something earned..not just falsely given..take care of your family follow rules n laws stop wasting your money on SHIT jordans or pot n alcohol...raise up. You want to be my equal then fn EARN IT..

@@ezquad959 you typed an entire paragraph and still said a whole lotta bullshit. No one has to "earn" being an equal. We deserve to be equal because we're human too, and this country was built on our blood, sweat, and tears. I suggest you rewatch the video cause you clearly didn't and angrily ran to the comments to spew nonsense.

If you vote Democrat you don’t. You were better off in the 50s. Do your research and you will find the inner cities are the worst, yet they get the most money. I wonder where that money is going?

I don’t think there is such a thing as being “woke”-that kind of implies it’s done and over with. I think we should think of it more like a process, ongoing. No one is woke, we’re all still waking up.

This speech is to be given away to the masses, it’s a passionate play to those who idly sit on their asses of words to convey a deep hope which i pray will instill a soul stirring movement through blood colored glasses. from my chest i manifest we under a just god who are all blessed (with love) not just to wealthy few or the thin blue to act as a glue for a binding unkindness which we must undress so perhaps to redress so we may progress to a place of success that has transcended beyond the ambivalence of this dissonant blindness

If that was true, then how do you explain the rioting and looting and violence? Those are crimes. Those are acts of revenge. And some say acts of terrorism. Harming innocent business owners and people is not a solution. Those are threats against innocent good people. If you want to go tear something apart, why don’t you Tear A Part the politicians that created this mess.
