Hikaru Nakamura took on Praggnanandhaa in the final round of the Tata Steel Chess India Blitz 2018. It was a very important final round because if Nakamura won the game, he would win the title. sorry to differ, very cat and mouse game- especially at the end. this suppose-future WC fortunately saw some wins recently. book mugging in chess has brought to this level.. this game has lost its thrills.. rightly carlsen not playing for it

Every Indian who follows Chess should be proud of Pragg, a future World Champion for sure.
Pragg's endgame was superb 👌
Clearly , looked like Hikaru had it at one point but then credit to Pragg for frustrating him with a strong defense that made Hikaru force sack his knight in the end to promote his pawn.

@@dennispearson9287 : What a sight that will be! Death Match 2.0 happened 48 hours ago on KZread. You should check it out. The event was part of an overall gaming convention and brought out lots of families, chessheads, and gamers.
Prag you are the best. I have never seen Hikaru playing with white and so much in trouble. From the starting game was driven by Pragnanada.
Pragg played so solid during that shuffle in the endgame. Eventually Hikaru got frustrated and made a bad move and pragg could capitalize. Great job

If white King takes that pawn. The black king will get the chance to come closer to the Knight and then there's no way to capture the Knight for the Hikaru and his defeat is certain.

No one seems to mention that white's pawn could have played en passant to F6

In what Blitz they played : 5 min or 3 min ? Btw, as far as I know, Nakamura is the boss of bullet 1 min. I am poor in bullet 1 min, more convenient in bullet 2 min and its variants like 2|1. My favorite is blitz 5 min, although feel more convenient in rapid 10 min.

Even if Hikaru respond with Knight G3 forking the black pawns, Pragg can take H4 blocking Hikaru from taking F5 pawn
