This song rocks. Feels good to see Blink-182 come out with some bangers in times like these. The vibes this song is giving me is "just smile man be happy I know time's are crappy rn but you dont live forever so fuck it bro have fun". ❤

Blink's video is genius. They are playing with punk nostalgia, sure. But it's way more than this if we think that they were first playing with their band's history in One More Time. This video is putting Blink's history into the history of punk. By making their video a parody of the Ramones' video, they are also highlighting the staggering contrast between the lyrics of I Wanna Be Sedated with their fun and carefree song. And I think this contrast is what makes Blink's video quite genius. The new wave of pop punk is missing the fun of the first generation of pop punk. Of course, this is a reflection of pop culture in general. So, Blink is reclaiming the fun and silly roots of pop punk as part of the history of punk rock by mimicking the Ramones' video. This is artistically genius, but also have a relevant message for the pop culture in general.

I agree. Pop-punk over the last couple years has become more about stories of lonely guys and less about rock shows and first dates. I think that’s why Tickets to my Downfall succeeded. It had a lot of that youthful energy pop-punk was missing at the time.

I feel like a lot of bands cheat this problem by just throwing in a lazily written guitar part where the bridge goes. Then you just repeat chorus one more time and the song is done.

Is having critical sense being an idiot? The comments are valid, the songs do have a lot of autotune and a lot of compression on the instruments. You may not even care about this, but the fact is that the mix is ​​like this.

Even though it doesn't have a music video yet, "Fell in Love" is the song that I think would be a hit if it released 15 years ago. It's not the most original song, but damn is it catchy & classic Blink.

I definitely love that the spirit of this album so far seems to be "We're old as fuck, but lets just have fun while we still can." I think the music itself isn't mindblowing, but it's pretty solid. I love the emphasis on catchiness. Reddit complains about the production, but to me, the lofi vibe seems intentional. They're clearly trying to go for a more punk-y sound.

Many in the sphere are dissatisfied with entertainment for being “woke,” but the the idea is not that it’s too black or too gay. You would probably find it far more reasonable than you are imagining it in your head. I can’t say the same about the Quartering though. He’s basically all about the clicks it seems.

Overall i really love the new album. Better than Neighborhoods, and all due respect to Matt (I like California and Nine) but this new album is the best they've made since the self-titled album. Having the 3 guys together again and clearly having fun and enjoying what they're doing really comes through

I’ve noticed that theres just no pleasing the blink fandom. Some say they should do the same shit they did 25 years ago, while others say that their music should always grow. Some say that their new, sadder songs have too many words, while others mock the simplicity of their more upbeat stuff…fucking hell its no wonder they take the time that they do to make music. I for one am over the moon to have blink back, finally something in this world makes sense.

I never fit in with the hardcore kids. Or the skatepunk kids even tho thats my music. I didn't fit in with the kids on my rugby team for that matter either. I digress, my perspective was just what Mark said, sure, there is a sound and look associated with it, but what's punk if doing wtf you want on your terms. All the hardcore kids and punk kids wearing a uniform to meet the aesthetic now just kind of make me giggle. They also work for some shit Corp. And have to gatekeep the same 5 bands till they die and live under the government's thumb....kinda sad. I saved my $ and opened my own store. Now opening my 2nd. I work for myself. I listen to what the fuck I want. I dress how tf I want. Raise my kids how tf I want. Is the Dad wearing a white t and skinny jeans who works for himself more punk? No...because it's not a pissing contest. The point is it's about the idea and ethics. Not the look or uniform.

It is so damn good.
