Nice not choosing Bleed. For me the best and most underrated Meshuggah riff (and record) is on their EP "I". The riff that comes after the breakdown at 8:40 is insane. It's the best drums/riff combo Meshuggah has ever produced, and the rest of the EP has better riffs than their last 3 albums combined to be honest... It is to me a veritable Meshuggah symphony. 21 min of pure joy.

Actually the demiurge is from gnosticism, I think there are many sects of it but to my knowledge it basically is that God is evil, in how our world is so full of suffering, war, existence is pain, they point this cannot have been made by a benevolent creator. The way out is through gnosis, or their version of enlightenment.
@myserusreloaded8 күн бұрын
Where is Perpetual black second?
@zjensen10223 күн бұрын
Great job with the riffs. Although pretty much anything Meshuggah is going to heavy af, I honestly don’t think that bleed is anywhere in the top 10. Future breed machine is one of my favorites, but I don’t think it’s necessarily one of the heaviest. I would say that The Abysmal Eye deserves a spot in the top 5, and demiurge might be my #1 pick for heaviest. Then again, there are multiple factors that make something heavy, and it can be pretty subjective. As a side note, Although a lot of people would equate “heavy” with lower pitches (tuning down or more strings). I think rhythms, tone, and riffs play a bigger part than a lot of metalheads realize. Even though people joke about the guitars having a million strings, I honestly think that the riff writing and Rythms are the core of what make meshuggah heavy, and the lower notes are just the icing on the cake. In my opinion, some of the bands that make it their whole goal to be heavier than everyone else (djent and those guys with the burping vocals) miss the whole point of what makes a song heavy. Just my opinion though.
@zjensen1022
2 күн бұрын
Going to have to amend my previous statement a bit. Just gave future breed machine a re-listen and it’s somehow even more stupid hard than I remember, so I think it’s top 5 material. I would say that Dehumanization deserves a top 5 stop as well, and the entirety of catch 33 is just unfathomably hard.

99% of meshuggah is 4/4. You need to follow the hi hat and it shows what the guitars are actually timed to. I believe that's polyrhythm compared to polymeter which would be if they had two time signatures. Could be wrong though.

@i_want_my_shuggah
15 күн бұрын
@@Melos-Media lol, thanks. Well, you have absolute banger riffs such as the riff previous to the middle section in "Corridor of Chameleons", the one at 2:23 before the breakdown slaps your 4ss or the absolute titanic riff that finishes off "Electric Red", as if goddamn extraterrestrial beings themselves were going to bring an apocalypse to the Earth. Another mega banger is the one found after the jazzy break in "Humiliative", 4:32 is your right spot, sh1t never gets old. Following with dense chugging, on the ending part of "Neurotica" a very particular one can be found, it is very simple, near mindless, but can be counted as a heavy one too. Now, speaking of shit that slaps hard, the opener riff to "Soul Burn" is the daddy of all things heavy, smacking and heavy, the riff at 3:02 on "Lethargica", after the eerie, atmospheric guitar bits is a total fest of density and madness, the whole song is just relentlessly heavy by its mid tempo-ed nature, exactly at the same time mark, one of my favorite shuggah riffs is placed, the one found in "ObZen", this one is a relentless headbanging induced riff mastery, this one always sets me banging my head along. And speaking of songs from the same album, there is an eargasmic riff that appears to be the most underrated and overlooked out of all the discography of this band, it is very ironic because it can be found on their most popular song, just after Kidman ends up howling "PROPEEEELLL IT'S GROWTHHH" at the 2:31 timemark of this song, and then, just to put the cherry on the cake, this same riff is just followed by a T I G H T palm-muting over the same pattern that... Gawd... It is godly... And finishing off with the excellence of *ObZen*, the last track is a total resemblance of the Meshuggah riffing, shit's bouncy, groovy, heavy, intrincate, dissonant-y... Everything you want in a djent song, "Dancers To A Discordant System" is not only great instrumentally, but also great lyrically; truly a masterpiece... Now, moving onto other stuff, I suggest an entire song, yes, an entire one, and that's because this is the slowest one they have, none other than "Nebulous", it has that infernal, otherworldy and pummeling atmosphere that can't be found in any other song of their catalog. As I saw before in the comment section, the breakdown of *I* (the 21 minute single song EP) found at the 10:33 timemark was already mentioned. This one doesn't need any presentation or description, you need to listen to it by yourself to know how destructive that riff is. 100% recommended. To end up this whole list of bangers, check out "In Death - Is Life" this one is a hell of groove. And now my last suggestion, this one may cause you find new feelings too (as what I've read from other listeners experiences). The last riff is the one found at 2:10 in "Dehumanization", shit just slaps so hardddd! Hope you enjoy all the suggestions. Meshuggah is a goddamn gallery of tremendous headbanging headbanging inducer riffs. See you.

Meshuggah - The Hurt That Finds You First
We need some more recognition and love for "Concatenation". That shit is heavy. It's a different kind if geavy though; it's not "groovy heavy", it's more of a "holy fuck heavy"
You truly are the one who's born in dissonance for picking "Born In Dissonance" as the first place. I think i'll breake those bones of yours whose sinews gave It motion, since you proposed fighting.
Maybe Combustion isn't necessarily heavy, but it's just so crushing and relentless
That snare is perfect! What drums are you using in this video?

Counter kit 😉 I highly recommend!
I also has some damn heavy riffs
Their heaviest song is Lethargica I'd say. They even slow it down live to make it heavier. Maybe the heaviest breakdown they've ever written is the straight 4/4 breakdown in I.
The possessive of it is its, not it’s btw
Ligature Marks are also heavy af
Actually the demiurge is from gnosticism, I think there are many sects of it but to my knowledge it basically is that God is evil, in how our world is so full of suffering, war, existence is pain, they point this cannot have been made by a benevolent creator. The way out is through gnosis, or their version of enlightenment.
Where is Perpetual black second?

Going to have to amend my previous statement a bit. Just gave future breed machine a re-listen and it’s somehow even more stupid hard than I remember, so I think it’s top 5 material. I would say that Dehumanization deserves a top 5 stop as well, and the entirety of catch 33 is just unfathomably hard.
what about dancers to a discordant system thooo 😭 🙏
Definitely missed ObZen. It's so heavy my car exceeds the curb limit when I play it.
Song Rasional Gaze is begin Djent....?

I guess heaviest one is “Spasm”, but “Rational Gaze” is the best overall

It's actually foam under the nut, and a fabric wrap around the top of the strings to keep unwanted noise muted under high-gain.
Wrong riff from “Breed Machine,” the breakdown is the heaviest chug of all time.
second riff on rational gaze is wayyyyy heavier than the first

Armies Of The Preposterous the haviest
1:11 it’s actually 4/4
99% of meshuggah is 4/4. You need to follow the hi hat and it shows what the guitars are actually timed to. I believe that's polyrhythm compared to polymeter which would be if they had two time signatures. Could be wrong though.
Opening riff in Spasm is fucking 200 Megatons
Me personally the heaviest is obzen
Not hating but this are not the heaviest Meshuggah riffs, this are the most popular riffs from them... "Nebulous" is heavy, "Into Decay" is heavy, "Corridor of Chamaleons" is heavy, also "Spasm" is really heavy, also "Kaleidoscope" last riff from the "Immutable" album is one of the most heavy Meshuggah riffs from their carrer... "Phantoms", "God He Sees In Mirror's"... the riffs that are in the video are the most iconic from them.

See you.
