Blading with Back To Blading

This week I traveled to Raleigh Durham, where I stopped by the Balance Distribution warehouse to pick up some product and catch a session.

    Nicest guy. I’m pretty sure he had no idea that I have a channel, and he was more than willing to let me skate his facility. He truly wants to see the whole sport grow and I’m sure he would do the same for anyone else who was in the area.

    @@coreyenglish8706 that’s so cool! I have been in love with skating ever since I watched Airborne in 1993/94 when I was 6/7 years old. Now at 33 I am even more into the sport and love that it’s growing again. Thanks for all the great uploads and info man.

    Looks like those PVCs are so unwaxed! Plus the ramps look like they are too close to the box, I would move that other ramp and them boxes way outside since there´s more room and wax them pipes a little bit. That´s the impression I had though. Maybe it looks and feels different when you´re actually there. Still looks like a fun spot. Lawerence seems like a chill guy as well. Sick session! You killed that box! Congratulations!

    Was definitely fun, and Lawrence is an incredibly nice person. The space is relatively tight, but it’s not bad for a rainy day. Couldn’t move anything outside because it was wet. Plus I’m sure Lawrence wants to be a good neighbor and not turn the parking lot into a skatepark. There are other businesses in this same building.

    Hey Corey, great content once again. I’m looking forward to going down to Raleigh this summer to hit some of those skateparks. Speaking of which if your ever itching to hit up a different spot there is a skateboard shop in Jamestown NY with a pretty sweet bowl and mini street section that I’ve been frequenting. I’m in Erie, hit me up if your down to link up for a session.

    Just got my USD sway team 4. I was so pumped to take them out to the park, after 20 years of not doing any skating. They literally rubbed a hole in the inner side of my left foot. Any suggestions? Do they just need to be broken in? Do I need some special socks? Appreciate the advice

  • @coreyenglish8706

    @coreyenglish8706

    Could just need a break in, but it sounds like you may need a lower volume liner. Maybe a reign v3HT, Myfit Recall, or similar. Something with less volume in the forefoot should help I think. Best of luck. Hard to feel motivated to skate when you know your skates will destroy your feet for a week.

    Do you have something applied to the heel of your Intuition Liners? The reason I ask is that I am having some heal lift issues with my Intuition V2's in my Them 909's and was trying to figure out how to get some silicone on there to help. Enjoyed the video.

    Been watching your vids lately, saw you skate with flat setup most of the time. What flat frame setup you would recommended to old skater like me? I have been skating freeride for a decade, and I’ve recently tried aggressive with anti rocker setup, but it doesn’t feel good. Any recommendations?

  • @coreyenglish8706

    @coreyenglish8706

    Fluid 5 is probably the best for the money. Adapt symetrics frames are excellent but pricey and take a while to get. The Them frame is great, but might not be the most friendly for someone new to flat. Going to a smaller (55mm) wheel might help that though. Those are the only ones a have real experience with.

  • @olafolinger2711

    What is your Freeskate setup? Why do you skate 4x 84 or 90 instead of 3x 110mm? Thanks

  • @coreyenglish8706

    @coreyenglish8706

    3 жыл бұрын

    4x84 FR3. It was my first “big wheel” skate in about 20 years and I preferred the lower more stable feel of a 4x setup compared to the 3x110 I tried. Especially with the FR frames. The 3x felt twitchy which didn’t match my needs for the skate. Now that I’m more comfortable on larger wheels, I’m looking forward to trying other wheel setups.

    @@coreyenglish8706 Thanks for your quick response Corey! Do you skate the FR3 with your Intuition liner or with the stock? What size is the FR3? What is your foot length in cm/in. I normally use a 42/43 Skate with real foot measured 26.2 cm length. Wondering if the Intuition liner will fit me in S or M.

  • @coreyenglish8706

    @coreyenglish8706

    3 жыл бұрын

    Last rough measurement I took had me at 26.8 cm. I’m on the 41-42 shell and have a bit of room in the front. I skate them with reign v3 liners. You could likely skate the size 40 with an intuition liner at 26.2. I squeeze into a small v2 intuition. It should be about perfect for your foot size.

    I travel for work. If anyone is a vector for this thing, it is me. I typically avoid skating with a mask on, but we were indoors and it is his facility. I’m more than happy to wear a mask inside to make someone feel more comfortable. If someone asks you to take your shoes off before entering their house, you do it.
