Excellent video. I followed your instructions to the letter. I really didn't think that it would fix the issue, but the second that I unplugged my external backup harddrive, my computer was able to boot properly. So, you were correct. What a relief! Turns out my problem was 2 of 4 ram sticks were not jammed in all the way? Most likely from moving to PC. It just got slightly dislodged. Make sure everything is “inserted” properly! Great troubleshooting video! Start with the cables/connections, pc hardware, & finally move on to the software. Genius!

Old video and it helped me with my problem! So I really appreciate that lol but what happens next after you uninstall the Radeon software? Is there anything else I can use to avoid redownloading?

the reason that's why i can't show how to install back the gpu driver is because there are tons of driver versions depending on what gpu you have. As for you check this link www.amd.com/en/support and look for the name of your gpu

@@MacCoyzkie i just updated my amd radeon card and i leave for 15 minutes to help my brother with something, i wait about an hour and the pc is still on display is off like it usually says it would when updating (flickering or go black) so i wait for a long time eventually i just reboot and now it is just staying black. all of my cables are fine everytgibg is running okay i can’t get to the safe boot mode nothing pops up on my pc both of my monitors don’t work it’s both black screen and i’ve changed hdmi cables HELP!

@@kaz8809 i think you need to ddu your gpu driver, amd drivers are really a mess and it's a pain in the ... that is why i switch to nvidia. anyway DDU the driver and use the previous version instead

2:35 what if you're in the same boat as I? I haven't picked up a hardrive yet. All I have is an ssd and I never formatted or moved the windows install media to the ssd. I thought I could get away with leaving it on the flash drive.

don't leave the flash drive, after installation just connect it to the internet and have it update itself

So I have gotten as far as booting into normal mode after safe mode and uninstalling the old driver, but while in the process of downloading the drivers for my card (Radeon R9 270x), my monitor black screens. Thanks for your help so far.

Ever since around March 2022 I have been receiving comments regarding their pc having black screen, glitches and freezing after installing the latest amd gpu driver. This is the driver's fault so I suggest never install the optional version, install the recommended and if the recommended version is still causing this problems in your pc i suggest use the amd driver version that worked for your pc before and i hope you can still remember that specific version. Perhaps it is in your download folder.

Thank you it helped to go into the safe mood and uninstalling the driver but when I reinstalled the latest driver after restart it goes black again. The graphics card is brand new RTX 3070ti and I'm using 2700X with gigabyte b450 pro wifi.

Hey Mac Coyzkie, thx for the great video ! I have a similar issue with my pc which i don't see the solution in this video. I have 3 screens connected to my pc and all of them are having black screens, with the exception that there is a cursor on it and i can see the cursor moves through all those screens without problem. Since it's not a total black screen i don't think it's a graphic card issue. Can u help me on this one please? It's urgent since i work using my pc. Thx in advance mate !

are you using amd or nvidia gpu? At the moment can you use a single monitor until we figure out what is causing it. Just unplug the hdmi/dp from the gpu. If there is anything i could think of, this might be just driver issue. Also can you tell me your pc specs and how did the pc problem started?

The part where he went into safe mode from the start menu, personally I had to reset my windows because it got corrupted and it worked for me. Had to uninstall apps but kept my data and most steam games stayed, just had to manually type them in and most of the downloaded data was there. A good thing to try if your issue was an improper restart or turn off with a slightly older docked m.2. (My cat turned it off trying to get to his cat tree)

Thanks bro, it was just a cable problem for my laptop, it wasnt plug in fully and bent a little.

It shows 2 display adapters (my gpu which I want to use for my video output) and the CPU's integrated graphics. Am I meant to uninstall both of them on safe mode or just my gpu's? I followed the steps by just uninstallimg my gpu's drivers and it worked for a couple of minute and the black screen appeared again so I'm not sure what to do

You might be using a processor with integrated graphics and a graphics card as well. The fact that you are asking should you uninstall both that is. Yes you have to uninstall both so that there will be no driver conflict. Just install the gpu driver

Great tutorial! I am sure this helped many people. Though I still have my issue. On my laptop I just installed windows 7 and after the 1st reboot in the setup the screen went black. Never kept going. I redid the installation 3 more times and it still is not good. Maybe it is a bad file. Not sure.. What do you think?

Hello, when I boot up my screen it properly show image for a few sec then turn black. There is no message error. Every time is like that. I have a similar experience but it got fixed quickly, so what happened is this morning today i boot up my pc as usual i do everyday and after booting up and proceeding to deskopt all i see is black screen and my mouse curson. at first i got scared and tried to use win+ctrl+shift+b and it didn't work, as my second choice is i fully reset my whole pc by hold pressing the boot up button on my deskopt, it took a while to reset it but then after my pc successfully resets it got fixed which my applications, wallpaper, and any other stuffs i have in my deskopt appears. i was wondering if this is normal because this is the first time my deskopt experience this type of short problem. my deskopt is brand new which i bought it last august. thanks for reading this! (idk if someone would actually read this lol, since this video was made 2 years ago.)

usually the creator responds 😊anyway, usually this happens if the o.s is messed up meaning you visited a lot of website that has pop ups and clicked some of it or you could be using windows 11, it has a lot of issue like this

I have important files so I tried to interrupt the booting process but its not letting me hold the power button, just by pressing it once not holding, it automatically turns the pc off. I still tried to do it 3 to 4 times by pressing but to no avail. Am I doing something wrong? And also I noticed that yours stayed longer in the part where it gives you the option to press del or f11 for the bios setup, mine is quick as hell. So do I need to turn off the pc on that little time by pressing or is it fine if it reaches the blackscreen part just after the bios? Thank you

the way i do it is when you see the screen backlight bleed i turn it off and turn on again like 2 seconds interval in between

I was restarting my pc for a long time i closed it and opened it i ddi this for 1 hour straight then i Plugged out the 2nd hdmi cable and it worked thank you so much i just wasted like 5 hours

I recommend hitting Ctrl plus alt plus delete and then spamming that when you’re booting up your PC then I’ll bring you into this recovery menu and click factory reset

Omg you actually helped me for me it was the storage disk the M.2 I just took it out blow a bit on it and the port put it back in and worked Ty so much ❤️

Quick fix for me was to just wait an unusually long amount of time after hitting the power button (like 5 minutes of just black screen after that) because the night before Windows had asked "Shut down and update?" and I said, "yes". Patience....

try to get to safe mode again, if u get lucky start saving your important files in the C drive and just format the boot drive already. you can also consider the o.s in this problem

Great tip about interrupting the boot process 3 times. I thought I was going to have to make a windows install usb/cd and enter the troubleshooter from there

I had this issue on my brand new prebuilt , it started doing it when I changed my monitor to 240hz . It ran perfectly when it’s set at 120hz though , doesn’t like 240hz for some reason ☹️

240hz might be too much for the system, usually it'll shut itself down or lose signal.

I'm so glad I went through those tests friends out my hard drive is actually failing and I have to buy a new one hopefully I can buy a new one soon before my computer dies again cuz it didn't happen before and then I had to do a image restore at we installed a new CD drive on a different hard drive and I have like 8 hard drives so that's kind of the fun part the fun part is an Alienware and it's not the heatsink one it's the ones that has a blowing I should make a video later

(I have lost so many and some jobs do to it of hdd fails or power failure's so ya also dropbox and google drive and that one drive thing very helpful) also good idea is to find what one is failing and copy data over and repace

I’ve been having this issue so I followed your guide uninstalled the display adapter. This worked fine for 5 mins, opened perfectly and let me use normally. Then the screen went black and I was back to where I started. Any ideas? Thanks

try it again, this time update windows to the latest. If you're using nvidia gpu update to the latest driver, if you're using amd try to use version 20.9.1 instead of the latest driver

My computer had an issue like this with a few glitched looking pixels on one side of the screen. My msi gaming thing loaded up fine every time but halted after that. Power cycled it 3 times same issue persisted, I hit the reset button and it just suddenly worked fine again. I was going to try that safe mode thing but it worked before I could hit reset a second time. Try this if your issue sounds like mine

Try to manually restart your pc while holding shift key, this will help you enter safe mode. Then do a DDU on your current gpu driver, here's how to kzread.info/dash/bejne/hap9rMqcqL26o6Q.html just install the latest driver afterwards

This is happening to me but it didn’t start just after turning on my PC, it happened while it was asleep and after i locked it last night. I was having issues with logging into Steam client and my dad tried copying all the Steam files into the previous drive that I removed the original files which I deleted, but we kept two copies of Steam. The second copy in my E drive and the third copy in my C drive. I think this has something to do with having two of the same applications that take up a ton of room. But idk, it might not be that I have two of the same programs, but something else. What do you think?

what do you mean locked? anyway this could have something to do with the drives specially when you reach the 90% or more storage capacity the drive starts stuttering. Try to remove any drives and just use the boot drive to check. Remember to leave 25% storage capacity free for better performance

U changed mt gpu,i instaled drivers but for some reasons i get some lag spikes and fps drop,do you think if i reinstall windows will be better?

you need to DDU all display drivers from before you install the new gpu. Here's how to ddu kzread.info/dash/bejne/hap9rMqcqL26o6Q.html then install the latest driver again

@@neuronkilladnb may i know your pc specs and what os (win 11 or 10) are you running?

One way i fixed mine was i opened up my pc, took out the gpu and cleaned off some of the dust along with the rest of the computer, plug it back in and it worked again. Also make sure that your cable connecting to your monitor is plugged into the gpu when doing this and not the motherboard.

I had it plugged into the wrong display port or my HDMI For my second monitor was in the wrong Hdmi spot and it messed with the functions Idk but I got it fixed. It maybe would have took 10 seconds if I did everything quickly but it took 5 mins for me to test out the console method so thank you!!!

For me, it was turning off fast boot up. I turned it on last night thinking windows will boot faster, completely forgetting the next day. After a short panic thinking if the GPU is the problem but then googled some solutions and on one of them was turning off fast boot up, which resolved the issue.
