I's say it depends on from what direction you look into the gun barrels...

If you want to stay in the fight longer, feel free to use the laser-guided Advanced Precision Kill Weapons System (APKWS) rockets. You can carry up to 49 of these “Mini-Mavs” with a T-Pod to laser-guide them into the target. It maximizes time-on-target. 👍

Interesting fact about Apache loadouts. The rocket pods would be places on the outside, not the inside, like what was shown. The smoke from the rockets can affect the engines negatively.

They were basically the new Sandy jet to replace the venerable A-1 Skyraider. Though I also love the OV-10, but more for FAC(a), which the hog also does quite well. Bronco's did impressive work in Iraq last decade slinging APKWS rockets.

As a young paratrooper who has seen both A10 & AH64 over head in times of need, well it gets a part of you very excited to say it KZread acceptable. Then there’s the Angel of Death- AC130. It was still called Spooky in my time. It was as if Gods fist came to fight.

The detail of the tracers bouncing off the ground is insane.

Since the F35 didn't exist in at the time of the Battle of Mogadishu, that's a safe bet. However, that was also around 30 years ago so a lot has changed.

My father was so close to being put into that mission, if you’ve seen the movie, the man on the table bleeding out from an artery in his leg was my fathers roommate. He was incredibly lucky to not be drafted in, and I pay respects to everyone who lost their lives that fateful day and night

The historical real event used MH6s to insert operators precisely on the rooftops. The “AH6 “were able to keep cycling for CAS for the next 18 hours.

Man, you know your shit. One A-10 and a couple of Apaches (independent of op orders and without comm links) decimated the OPFORs and attained tactical control of the entire engagement area with relative ease. Damn good run.

Hello man, yes I will always put the links for mission in the video descriptions (can't guarantee how long they stay up but I do my best) if you ever see me not sharing a mission its because I can't either I'm not allowed to share the mission by the mission creator, or there are assets or mods in the mission that I'm not allowed to distribute due to licensing issues, but whenever I can share I will.

The gun run was so flawlessly A-10 from the causal tone to the sounds from the ground angle. Hearing that turbine scream and seeing the flares like "hey guys I got you covered" hits a OIF/OEF era vibe.

A-10 run is like tryin' to catch a bus in southside Chicago.

Next, GS, you should do "Behind Enemy Lines, but this time i take out the Strela!" - Especially after it ganked you in a Viper AND Hornet- and was making a heavy effort to kill you here and was getting close, LOL - Day 42 / Video 19 of Asking for some MIG 31 Foxhound action!

I was watching a video on the Warthog this week, and they demonstrated a helmet-mounted monocle that the targeting pod slaves to, so you can "shoot where you look" like the Apache gun. Does the DCS version have that capability?

yes, this was the system I was using in this video. I look where I want, drop a marker called a SPI or sensor point of interest, and then the TGP slaves to it, once I've identified this as a target, I can pull up MAVs for example and they will also slave to that SPI point and then you're free to engage at will, this is actually what you saw when I engaged the 3 BMPs with 3 Mavs in this video.

I've witnessed both A-10 and Cobras cover our butts on more than one occasion.

The battle of mogadishu was already one sided as hell. The rangers, Delta, and 10th mountain, and 160th SOR, inflicted casualties FAR out of proportion to their numbers, While sustaining casualties way below what should have been expected considering the disparity in numbers. a Hog (or the AC130, THAT WAS REQUESTED) orbiting the battle area would have been... excessive if they actualy fired shots (the Somalis may not have gotten as bold if there had been heavy armed assets above...)

The "denied forces' were scapegoats. an AC-130 would've denied the airspace for the AH-6s which were able to clear entire streets and perform danger close strikes. an AC-130 sounds like a great idea till you see how built up Mogidishu is and how danger close a lot of the littlebirds had to get
