On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

I don’t know if this has happened before but I’m curious to see what would happen in a Su-57 vs J-20 in a BVR scenario, it would be interesting since I don’t think this has happened on this channel yet. Like hell it is. It's just that the ground forces are easily impressed by the slow, loud plane with a huge gun punching holes in the desert whereas the F-16 they never saw that dropped a single JDAM they never saw that actually killed a bunch of enemies they never saw but who were about to open up enfilading fire on them doesn't impress nearly as much.

in DCS a well coordinated pair of A-10c (II)'s will absolutely tear up the place. You can smoke out the short range sams and schwack 'em, then just go to town on anything and everything that twitches. The HMCS changed everything and made it a truly effective system for designating visual targets on the fly and the SPI sharing capability is fantastic, especially at night. I really wish the -16 and -18 HMD's and systems managed targets as easily.

Fun fact: the high explosive shells used in the Iowa-class battleships were 2000 pounds. Really puts things in perspective when Mk 84s are in play. Meanwhile the Mk 82s (500 lb bombs) are the same weight as a 10 inch artillery shell.

  • @borismekler

Except the Mk 84 carries six times more explosive than a 16-inch HC shell, and more powerful explosive at that. The 16-inch shell is closest in power to Mk 81 bomb, which was quickly retired due to insufficient lethality.
