This song is a message to all of their haters and doubters. The group used get told they'd never amount to anything, then when they started achieving, people were saying they were getting awards out of charity and that they were only winning because they were pitied. So this song is an emphatic statement declaring how all the awards they've been winning are due to hard work and the shared loyalty of the members and their fans (who also got bullied by other fandoms for years), and proof of this praiseworthy success is the fact that the awards keep multiplying. The MIC Drop at the end, which was inspired by Obama's famous mic drop, represents how they're ready to stop talking because they just showed what they've got, and that they plan to start showing the new awards that they're going to get.

If you react to Baepsae it's a must to react to Baepsae Explained by a Korean by DKDKTV because they explain what the song is about really well for English speakers and it has a message in it. It's one of my favorite BTS songs.

micdrop is a track originally from bts and aoki just remixed it, i think both versions are quite dope. btw the car explosion wasn't special effects, they legit blew up a car while shooting the mv, they actually closed down the whole street.

Have you seen BTS perform Mic Drop on SNL? There’s a video for it and I think you might appreciate what they’re wearing as well. Also the Mic Drop performance Special Stage @ 2017 MAMA Hong Kong (award show). Both performances are lit and different. The dance breaks are amazing. They also just released the dance practice/choreography video today for the MAMA performance. Anyway, I love them performing live.
