Great place for your friends first US hike. Water is flowing pretty good. The Algerian trail does go to the West rim. I did it from the other way. Saw a huge rattlesnake .It’s a cool little used section. Tnx for the video 👍🏻

I did that same loop a few years, just going in the opposite direction. Started out on the Daugherty “trail” and we had to bushwack our way to the BFT. That last hill you went down is to this day the toughest uphill i’ve ever climbed. Going back next month to do the whole BFT loop; can’t wait!

That'd be a rough way to do that loop for sure. Everyone I've ever seen come up that hill looks like they regretted it haha. Enjoy your thru hike of the BFT!

Great area for his first hike in the USA. Oh man the unmarked bushwack trail looked a little rough but you guys made it through.

Yes fortunately we could just resort to following the stream down but it could have certainly been easier haha. All part of the outdoors experience!

When I saw you used Daugherty Trail I was pleasantly surprised, since I love these old forgotten trails. Then I heard you give it a 0/5 lol. I made a fun(?) loop a few years back connecting the BFT and the WRT, using Red Rock Run Trail (doesn't exist), Daugherty Trail, and Big Dam Hollow Trails as part of the northern leg. It was a blast if you enjoy bushwhacking, but I can't in good conscience recommend it to anyone I don't hate.

Yeah it's always dicey anytime I use one of these lesser known trails. Never know if things will be okay or a straight bushwack haha

Hahaa.. nice trip to take him on. BFT is awesome.. some ruggedness for sure but great trail.

Yes I love the BFT. So rugged but so incredible!

Streams were flowing good and the camp fire burning great and beautiful views. Back to the hammock? Thanks for the great video and happy trails.

Yeah it was a nice trip for sure. With the rain, I chose to opt for the hammock in case it rained while we were at camp. Much nicer being under the tarp rather than being stuck in a tent haha

The BFT is a great trail. I hope you swung by the Hotel Manor for a post hike burger!

The BFT is my top trail. We stopped in at the Venture Inn but they were closed unfortunately. Ended up with a post hike brunch in Lockhaven.
