Golden Eagle Trail Day Hike

The Golden Eagle Trail is an approximately 9 mile loop trail located in Tiadaghton State Forest. The trail head is on the west side of Route 414 at the Clark Farm Recreational Parking Area. The Golden Eagle is widely regarded as the best day hike in Pennsylvania. In the fall, it offers breath-taking scenery of the surrounding valleys. I recommend hiking the loop clockwise which saves the most famous vista, Raven's Horn, for a climatic finish. If you're pressed for time, hiking counter-clockwise will offer an approximately 3 mile total hike to Raven's Horn and back. Please note that camping is not permitted along the Golden Eagle Trail. This trail is very close to both the Black Forest Trail and the Bob Webber Trails if you're looking for additional hiking options in the area. If you are passing through the Pine Creek Gorge, I highly recommend checking the Golden Eagle Trail off your bucket list!

Hi, Caleb, just watched your two part video from 2019 on the Standing Stone Trail. Excellent coverage of that trail. I am planning to take a crack at it later this month, and the detail you guys put into your video was superb. It will really help me for my hike. Thanks much, and hike on! Trigger (AT 2019).

Really nice little trail. Love the rock formations and the ridge walk. We’re there any campsites along the trail? I’m looking for shorter mileage trips for late fall and winter.

Hello Dan. It is a nice day hike. Unfortunately camping isn't permitted along the Golden Eagle from what I can tell. Looking forward to watching your SST hike.
