This was a very good band, I am sorry I missed them live. Bass extraordinary, as drummer, lanois and trixey superb. Original. Authentic soulful, and that incredible lanois touch. He is the ring leader, she the heart and the other two just plain dynamic.

The love of my life grew up in Metaire. When that hurricane came ten years ago the military bust her third floor door down and said you could leave your french quarter digs in hand cuffs, or on your own free will---out of the city. Outside business men were drinking god champagne by the sidewalks, deciding how they would split up the city. My point, what i was getting at, is, though i swore once was enough, and though ray davies was almost killed in NOLA....Who isn't almost killed? Most people are just arrested. But...I would risk going to NOLA again to toss back a few drinks with this crew!!! Love you Jackie. We'l meet again. Rock on !!

I only recently discovered these Black Dub / Trixie Whitely videos, wish I had caught the band live when they were still playing together. Great stuff! Trixie definitely has some of that emotional intensity going on that made her father's music so extroardinary. Hard to beat Daniel, Brian and Daryl as a backing band as well. Love it!

Man, I don't like to complain, but it really truly is a deep disappointment to come here looking for Black Dub music and first being subjected to trailers for horror movies. If artists are going to monetize their stuff on youtube, I wish they could at least pick tasteful adverts or adverts that could be slightly uplifting in any way, rather than some scary, negative. B.S. It's just a bummer to me. "I'm not mad, jus' sayin'." P.S. Trixie Wheatly is talented!!! (Not that the other musicians aren't! She just impresses me as a young soulful vocalist, I mean, really WOW)!
