The drummer is killin' it !!.... It don't get much tastier than that.....nice Job !!
Yeah this is the definitive version. I have the album too, but all the live off the floor videos are superior. Ring the Alarm, Love Lives, Nomad Knows, they all just kill.
It's refreshing to hear music like this in the age of pitch-correct and salacious videos. Thank you for keeping music organic!
Brian Blade is a fucking genious.

If her skin was a curse in America, this song would have a deeper kind of soul.
From Bob Dylan to Joni Mitchell, from Wayne Shorter to Norah Jones, from Chick Corea to Daniel Lanois, from Brad Mehldau to his Fellowship; thank you Brian Blade for the subtle accompaniment, thank you for the explosive attacks. Carry on inspiring.

You can also add SHANIA TWAIN to his "client list"! BRIAN BLADE has honoured Canada's New Country Queen's, too! ❤
I used to listen this song a lot of times. Now I am listening it after quite a long time and I almost cry how good is that.
Once you really listen this nothing is the same. A tribute to the good groove...
Levels above everything else. Tight as a gnat's ringpiece. Pocket so deep I had to hire a submarine to locate my jaw.
The Guitarist is DANIEL LANOIS and the Drummer is BRIAN BLADE, who just performed on Shania Twain's Latest Album... TRIXIE, the Vocalist, is the Late CHRIS WHITLEY's Daughter! ❤
i don't understand why this video doesn't have 5,000,000 views
Amazing groove by Brian Blade!!! Trixie Kicks ass as well!!!!
I found this 15 years ago. And still drunk on the toilet I'm here!
Still beter than the album version ... The drum, bas, pianist ... Great musicians!
Trixie, you brought me back to the groove. Now I got dem blues.
Never ever get tired of this.
holy s*** everytime I see a new "live" video from Trixie I fall more and more in love with her voice. Pure gold and bliss.
your ears have nowhere to hide here. no comfortable consistent rhythm to listen in on. everywhere you look you find someone taking their craft seriously. all corners of this piece are exqiusite.
Effortless talent! Born to make music. What a rhythm section!
still gives me the chillzzz 13 years later ❤
This has instantly become one of my new favorites. So hard to find soul in music nowadays. These guys have that shit on lock.
Killer bass line! I heard the studio version of this song and was completely floored.
8 years in and I'm still in love with this song.

Simply brilliant.
This is so damn good. I keep checking in every couple of years to hear it
Silk and sandpaper, that voice, in alternating breaths. I am in love.
Probably the most awesome performance that exists.

Yeah...they need to make another record.
That BASS !!!!!!
Just off the hook.Thank you Daniel,Tracy, Brian,Daryl...RIP Chris!
you have to look up Trixie Whitley and follow the links to buy... By the way this is Chris Whitley's Daughter for those of you that truly follow the blues... She is a blues machine!!!
one of the most amazing bass line
Brian Blade is the Drummer and, YES. ... That'' Daniel Lanois on Guitar and THIS was recorded, apparently, at Daniel's Home in Silver Lake, just outside Los Angeles.... Brian just played on Shania Twain's new Album, TOO! Check Out his DADDY... Gospel Legend BOBBY BLAND ! ! ! Apple didnt fall far from da Tree!!!! ❤ 😂😅
The bass is pure badassery
I bought this on iTunes this morning - first full album I've bought in years. You know excellence when you hear it.
Heard this for the first time about a week ago on WXPN...absolutely love it!

***** Nicely phrased! Yes, I'm discovering that! I have seen his name many times over the years on production notes, etc of many different groups, but i never realized until recently that he is a unique musician in his own right, not just a wiz on recording. I like his style a lot!
I just discovered this for the first time and am BLOWN AWAY! Amazing sound and a singer with an incredible voice. I am moved in so many ways!! Is it me, or does the singer remind anyone a tiny bit of Joss Stone?? Either way, amazing all around!!
this song and this band deserve more respect. such a great tune!!
that cat is brian blade, a giant on the drums :)
Just in case someone doesn't know: On the drums is one of the most epic drummers, Brian Blade. Go check him out.

Brian Blade for president!
Now, that is perfection my friends.
She has a amazing voice 🙃
Just perfect I get goose bumps !!!
One word to describe this-AMAZING! Fantastic new project from Daniel Lanois with one of the best rhythm sections in the world(Daryl Jones on bass and Brian Blade on drums) and the unbelievable soulful voice of Trixie Whitley. Should check them out when they come to the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver next month.
damn i've been looking for this song for a decade after i saw it on carson daily night show...
i gave-up on believing in Forever quite some time ago, for no apparent reason this song rejoins that idea and weaves its way through the doors of time forever with a kiss
Are they talking about Ayahuasca? "from the bottom of the brew, to the top of the leaf, I can drink maple water any time I believe." In the midst of my Aya visions, Black Dub's songs play in mid air in slow motion and on repeat. They show me so much depth and heart shining love it almost hurts! Thanks for your work you beautiful, spectacular people. Danny, you've really done it.
Truly one of the sexiest women alive. So much poise and confidence. She's done her Dad proud.

TOUGH to refute your "Assessment"! Hope that they'll RESURFACE with some More Uplifting Songs like THIS, too! ❤
She reminds me so much of an old housemate Sarah Pool from Brisbane who would on occasion sing at a local pub and just blow everyone's socks off with her voice... (c.a 1986) Her sister Messy (Melissa had an affair with Blondie guitarist Chris) played guitar.. both girls absolutely nuts but wonderful characters..
SICK bass line!!!
From where I was standing It was hard to see, hard to see But what has always been Will forever be, forever be And now you're running down my spine Like a waterfall, like a waterfall I want to write your name On every wall, on every wall But I believe in you But I believe in you But I believe in you, yes, I do I believe in you Up and down the river In a little boat, a little boat All I need is you and a castle All made of hope, all made of hope I can walk through the doors of time Scale any wall and cross any line I can send any thought to the end of the finger And burn any knot with a kiss But I believe in you But I believe in you But I believe in you, yes, I do And I believe in you From the bottom of the root To the top of the leaf, the top of the leaf I can drink maple water Anytime I believe, anytime I believe I was frozen, I was blowing In a blade of grass Of running out of honey Of living in the past But I believe in you 'Cause I believe in you I believe in you, yes, I do I believe in you, yes, I do I believe in you 'Cause I believe in you I believe in, I believe in, I believe in you, yeah Yeah, I believe in you and I believe in you

Amazing Groove by Brian Blade. Trixie kicks ass as well!!! Great Band
This is some of the best music I have ever heard. Keep it up Black Dub!!! Bring the music back to our poor music starving children...
For those who watched Rick Beato interviewing DL, you can recognize Daniel Lanois’s house.
Wow! It's as great as you would expect from Daniel Lanois.. who's work is always sublime, and I am so thrilled that he's recovered from the awful accident. A great future for him and Black Dub.
"pour toujours et à jamais"
I found this a few years ago. I come back to it every few months and it always knocks me out. Great performance and great production values..... if only everything was miked this well. I'd buy a DVD of this session if it were available.
Wonderful! No other way to describe their music. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this.
Oh yeah... I believe in you
So good, I dont understand why the webpage is offline and there has not been any new material or what happened to the band. IT HAD SO MUCH POTENTIAL

Trixie wanted a more free emvironment to express as a solo artist, Lanois is always someone with a few irons in the fire with his solo projects and ambient work with Rocco Deluca, aside from the production of other artists. I think this was always meant to be a one-off project. Brian Blade is never short on collaborations either.
Thank you Ron Bennington of the Ron & Fez for turning me to Black Dub. Daniel Lanois keep them coming.
wicked bass line.
...and *replay*. This is awesomeness personified.
this song needs more views than it has right now. what the fuck. this is the greatness that people need to be listening to!
She has an amazing Voice for a very small woman! Very touching to the soul!
Stlll has my heart
Saw them live at house of blues such a good memory ☝️
BRIAN BLADE.
she has such a great voice!! just amazing!!
Since 9 years I come back again and again to hear this group
Stunning.
I can't believe how underrated this song is. How does noone know about this

Possibly because this combo was short lived. Lanois has been around for quite some time and has many CDs and produced several well known artists. Ben Blades is a well known musician whose style is very special. Trixie Whitley is an accomplished singer. This gathering produced one album and didn't last afterwords for several reasons. Check out other Lanois music. I have everything he's recorded.
Gorgeous!
Words can't express how I love Brian Blade.
I've been comin back to this recording for years now. Thanks for the the music.
I love this tune!!!
I LOVE THIS and I keep telling all my friends to watch it . She sings with her whole body!! Love the music too - Daniel Lanois is a genius and of course the drummer and Bass are awesome too!!
awesome Trixie, my new fave! :)
