I don't have many physical traits that I would find unattractive, and I don't have a racial preference, but I'm not going to pretend like it can't be a thing for some people. There is also a point to be made about that you don't know to what traits you are attracted to until you meet them later on. I just don't understand how the issue of colorism was born. Respectfully, maybe you are just not around that many men? When I worked with customers at a bank I was asked out at least three times a week, and that’s where I met my husband. I’m a youngish widow now (42), and I’m financially able to not work right now. As a result I haven’t met anyone. I’m planning on going back to in person church, and hopefully I will meet someone nice there.

6:53 I don't know why anybody would celebrate that quote it would make me question if said person was dating me for me or solely because I belong to X race. It's like the difference between somebody telling me they find Latinos attractive vs saying they only date Latinos, one I see as an attraction or preference the other a fetish.

Damnit. I was hoping this would smooth things over between white guys and certain kinds of black chicks. It was so cool seeing them own that praise, and nodding their heads in agreement. I've had run-ins with "proud" black chicks who I suspect don't really feel as awesome as they claim to be. Like... crazy accusations out of the blue, and insinuations that sound like I'm oppressing them somehow.

Much like the guy who did the video... I'm just the messenger so don't at me. I wish I could remember who it was but I saw a TikTok recently by a Black guy who said he noticed how many Black college athletes (new to the NFL, etc) who seemed to only date White girls. He said he wondered why that was and so he asked a bunch of dudes he knew that were Black and had White girls. He even prefaced the video by saying he was not one of them and that he prefers Black women, saying, "I'm just the messenger." So he said that when he asked, many of them said something similar. Basically that they had dated Black women when they first got signed, or they were dating them when they got signed and that as soon as they had the potential to makes lots of money (they weren't making that money yet), the Black women started spending, started asking for luxury goods, expensive meals, etc., with one saying that she said, "You're good for it." Then when they dated White girls, even with the well-paid contracts they were offered, the White girls would still be cool with just grabbing coffee, getting some Chipotle, etc. Not asking for luxury goods, etc. And one said that his (White) girl didn't expect him to pay for everything. That she'd bring him coffee, food, etc., and come support him at practice and bring him things, including home-cooked meals. And he said there were a bunch of upset people saying, "But White girls insist on marriage and then they talk half your shit, while Black girls don't even ask for marriage."

I never thought a day would come when hours, nay days, weeks, and months would be devoted to the dating and/or relationship choices of individuals and/or groups of people. But then I’m old and met my hubby down the pub when he offered me a seat, told me he thought I was pretty then wandered off to play darts. He wandered back later bought me a drink and asked me out to dinner. We would still be married now if he hadn’t passed away. You love who you love. It’s the character of the person that counts, nothing else. A person might believe they have preferences as to appearance but character comes from deep within, appearance is superficial. No good being with a handsome man if he is a shitty person. And visa-versa. If one restricts one’s ability to choose a partner to a specific group then don’t complain if you can’t find a life partner.

Im black but i never understood the whole the black man is lesser then X group of men and the black women is lesser then X group of women thing. I just uninstalled TikTok yesterday due to the obsession with race among so-called problack tiktoks.

All I know is that when I see a black woman freaking out over cold french fries the last thing that comes to mind is “I wanna date a woman just like that”. I am happy that this Horowitz fellow found his perfect mate. But I suspect strongly that she is the exception and not the rule.

I got to say I’m wondering why anyone would actually think this was a true quote. I say that because of the last sentence. Who talks like that? I understand why a man would have a preference for black woman. The fact is only grown ass people can get married. I don’t know an adult mature person who would ever say “Marrying a person of any race is for grown ups” it’s just a really odd thing to say.

Having preferences is perfectly okay, let's just not put down others to raise those that we love because then you're putting them on a pedestal where the foundation is made out of sand, praise your partner for how they act in the things they do as a person. Also black men hating on black women is so real and so disgusting, I dated a black dude who said he would never date a black woman because of the "attitude" and they "crazy", broke up with him so fast. Also just to add this that doesn't mean some black women can't be crazy, my bestie married a black man and their worst haters are black women, they call him a traitor and call her gis master or shes stealing him from the sisters.

If I was the wife I might be a bit put off that he didn’t actually praise his wife but her race. All wives are for grown ups. She’s not a wonderful person because she’s black but she’s a good person with high values and morals ect. Even though it wasn’t actually said, I think you get my point ❤

Hang out with family or extended family. Find out how your old buddy is doing. Get a pet, I don't care, but all this anger is unhealthy. That's not true. White men are at the bottom for "desirable". The only reason they aren't represented accurately in those statistics is because they have the most money. A broke white dude is less desirable than a broke dude from any other race.
