Momma figured it out. The cuckoo has an orange colored mouth. Her chicks are yellow. Cuckoos are known to eject the other chicks from the nest. So many chicks still there. Cuckoo's failure. Momma's win.

This bird is smart to recognize her own offspring. And that is an unfortunate cuckoo. The mother is only allowing it to stay for an extra insulation to her offspring 😆

@jamespwickstrom8731 Baby cuckoos are actually much bigger than those other chicks, it's obviously not getting enough food. Anything it ate, it was probably stolen from the others.

@jamespwickstrom8731 it does look like it must’ve been fed, but based on how much the parents are ignoring it, im guessing it was probably fed in the beginning but not now. Perhaps the imposter was impossible to recognize from the other chicks when they just hatched. Even now they look quite similar. A small part of me does feel a little bad for the bird though… it didn’t ask to be born into that life. But that’s how evolution works.

Feed yellow mouths and ignore the pink mouth. Should feed the other birds’ poops to the cuckoo.

I have to agree except for this one is human intervention. They put the babies back in the nest. Most likely the cookoo then instinctively kept trying to push the babies back out causing it to tire out as it wasn’t eating since it was still trying to push the babies out that this person kept putting back in the nest.

Nice vedio. I can't express my happy feelings seeing justice prevailed for the Parents and their Chicks.

Cuckoo Chick: "Why aren't you feeding me!" Mother bird: "Well, maybe if you stopped BITING me, maybe i'd feed you a bit more often."

The con artist's obvious frustration is so sweet. We as humans would kill anything that tries to stop our children from being fed. That little parasite has quite the ego and to see it be crippled with every failed attempt to steal is so delightful.

Foster mother be like,.."you can't fool me anymore, my kids will survive this time"

That's a very conscientious mother bird. She has that baby cuckoo on a strict diet so it does not overpower the nest. She is making sure they all grow that the same weight.

@@shailendrarawat4422 poop. That’s their poop. A lot of animals will eat their babies poop in order to keep their living space clean and safe. Accumulated waste will lead to sickness and more of a chance at being detected by predators. It’s nasty but they gotta do what they gotta do.

There is a second reason when cuckoo chicks flap their wings it mimics a sharper cry. Which makes the parent feed the chick or hunt even more…but this cuckoo for what ever reason didn’t take out the real chicks So its tricks arnt working because the parents can look at it compared to their own and think either something is wrong with it or they know somethings up.

@@Duster29to86 could have also been a matter of timing. The cuckoo needs to hatch and be fed a considerable amount before the others hatch just to have the strength to move the other eggs much less the pseudo siblings.

@@aguilhermecris si, vivo en Argentina, América del Sur. Esos padres pájaros azules, son muy inteligentes. Alimentaron más a sus hijos que al cuckoo para que éste no crezca rápido.

That’s why they are not being too obvious and just kicking out of the nest. They are just trying to make their chicks grow and develop faster by feeding them more and larger food so they can fledge before the cuckoo mother realizes it’s been found out and kill the parent chicks. They should feed the cuckoo their own chicks poop…lol

This is why I became a bird watcher since 2014, nature and wild have their own way of how to deal with things,,,but this nest is the most mesmerising ever, and the way you have described it probably close to what the parents bird are doing, they have to feed their own chicks as much as possible and leave their nest sooner before the evil mother know what happened to its chick 🐥 Btw, I love you said they should feed the intruder the poops ( perhaps animals are not as nasty as us humans ) 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Greetings my friend from the Far East and have a good day/night 💐💐💐💐💐

The chicks are now far too large for the cuckoo mom to try and take revenge after it's chick dies.(which I hope happens soon)

It's a cuckoo bird. It's not actually related to other birds on the nest. The way they multiply is by laying egg on other nest and by that way other parents bird will likely care for their young. But, on this video it is the opposite. Mama bird ignoring it. Hahahaha

Baby birds can't digest their food completely. So when they poop out the sag thing, it still has nutrients from the meal. The parent birds don't hunt for themselves while feeding their chicks, so this is how they eat. They literally feed each other.

Same here.I saw inany vdos that Cuckoo chick throws all the eggs and chicks of foster mother and the poor mother and father exert themselves to feed cunning cuckoo chick which is bigger in size than them. I am very happy to see a smart intelligent mother first time and chicks still surviving and cuckoo failed to kill them 👍🤗

@@fatimacastro6415 Ele não recebe comida porque ele é um cuco, não é filhote dessa fêmea. Alguns chamam os cucos de pássaros parasitas. A fêmea deposita os ovos nos ninhos de outros pássaros e quando o filhote de cuco nasce, normalmente ele empurra os ovos e os filhotes legítimos pra fora do ninho, os matando, mas algumas espécies conseguem diferenciar os filhotes de cuco e os deixam definhar de fome até a morte ou os abondona.

@@fatimacastro6415 Vcs não entendem, O pássaro maior que a mãe e o pai não alimentaram, é um Filhote de Cuco, um pássaro parasita que a mãe coloca o ovo dentro do ninho de outros pássaros, e ao nascer o Filhote do Cuco expulsa os ovos ou filhotes que estiverem no ninho, para que ele fique sozinho e seja alimentado.

哈哈，这窝鸟的视频我看过完整版，鸟妈聪明，意识到不是自己孩子，所以每次喂养都是优先自己孩子，剩余食物给杜鹃吃，长得比较慢，不然其它鸟早被他谋杀完。

@@Lucas_T.S. if they take it out the mother cuckoo may come and kill their chicks so they can’t make it too obvious. They just need to stunt it’s growth long enough so their own chicks have time to fledge. Cuckoo chicks get gigantic and take much more food and more time to develop. The parents are smart.
