@Crow of Judgment Not true, some animals are capable of reasoning. Even the birds do this for a specific purpose. The baby birds don't digest food properly so the excrements are still nutritious. Eating the sack raises their chances of survival. Humans can afford to be picky, but faced with starvation they would also eat whatever they can. We even resorted to cannibalism.

For those wandering about the mother eating it’s poop. This is actually a very natural thing a lot of animals do. Dogs do it as well. The mother will eat the babies poop to keep the nest or den clean. As well as a way to eliminate the scent to attract predators. It’s very very common. Although disgusting.

Birds are not supposed to live in the wild. They don't know how to feed and care for their young. God told Adam to care for the animals and it was a full time job. But they forgot about the animals after they left the garden. Genesis 1:26 Genesis 2:15-19

I don't know how anyone could watch that ending without fast forwarding it. The anxiety for this baby bird was real! Eekkk. I'm so glad it finally got it out.

IIRC birds don't have the same flaw as humans, their nose&mouth aren't connected so they can't choke if something gets stuck in the throat.

I ....would not call that "awesome " since that word usually has a positive connotation. Wolves take much better care of their young than this bird lol. She kept trying to feed it the same chunk of too large food no matter how many times the baby couldn't swallow it, causing it to eventually choke for so long it looked several times like it was about to die.Thank goodness it happens to have strong muscles in it's throat, or she would have killed her young. At least an animal like a wolf knows to chew the food first for babies that young and regurgitate so the baby doesn't choke and can easily digest their food. This was terrifying to watch, and the parent bird has zero clue what was happening. Beyond the wolf example, I'm pretty sure we could find dozens of other example of animal parents much smarter and able to take care of their babies in comparison.

Eh....I wouldn't call that time and patience. She didn't understand the situation at all. She kept tryingnto feed the same overly large food to the baby, making it choke for so long it looked like it was about to die, no matter how many times it kept being unable to swallow it, she just kept trying to make it eat the thing. That's just a bird not knowing what is going on and nearly killing it's young.

Birds are programmed using software. There is no feature added of removing a stuck food from its babies. There was an exception thrown here as the momma bird was idle throughout the choking process. It didn't know what to do. The expected behaviour was to baby eject out poop. So momma bird kept freezing. Fortunately the baby threw an exception too which was handled gracefully by the momma bird. Other the process would be exited with 0

All those comments which aren't joking around when they say this is a "beautiful moment" and how nature is amazing, and the mother bird is amazing for taking care of its young....please tell me you noticed that the mother bird was not smart enough to figure out that it was feeding the baby something it shouldn't be eating, and if it had the ability to learn even a tiny bit, it definitely would have learned the first several times it tried to give it that same piece of food after the baby already choked on it. This is terrifying, not amazing. Just an example of an evolutionary adaptation this type of bird clearly doesn't have. Its instincts seem to have programmed it to only do a certain set of things, and "feed the baby food small enough that it can fit in the baby's mouth" or "the baby is in distress. Try to help it somehow" don't seem to be things it realizes how to do. It's great the baby survived that, but man I never want to install a cam like this now. Birds must be scary parents to watch.

I used to thought that only humans are not smart enough because they cut their connection with nature in evolution process , so they need to learn every thing from someone else... And other species are smart enough to take care of themselves because they are always touch in nature and evolved very wisely but i was wrong... This nature is very cruel...

Sukur alxhamdulillah . Allah saved the the life of the too tiny and innocent pretty bird. The most important lesson here is that the mother did not leave her baby alone in its such a terrible situation and has been marking all the long her baby's terrible situation. Credit goes to Allah only.

Nice video. Liked to share my years back story with these kind of bulbul birds. One day a bird made a nest in my house, for twice in money plant. First time I was not serious about and I dont know what happened to eggs, one day I saw only egg shells fallen on the floor. Second time, same like this I made a video of 3 eggs in the nest in the absence of their parent bird were soon came out little 🐣. But, one idiot cat came and striked the nest ( I don't know how it happened) only I saw was one chick was eaten and other one was fallen were many ants were started to biting it, Dad & Mom birds were struggling to avoid there chicks suffering from pain, finally it died. I was so much disturbed and felt so sorry for there loss, and even with hesitant I hanged a box arranging with few leaves, bcoz when the cat attacked the chicks the nest also was torn so without wasteing the Itime I made it. Amazingly they both started feeding the third one in the box were I hanged. Though I was disturbed, but making them comfort was little ok for my mind, but that was lost within two days, the same cat attacked the Mom bird and took away ( I saw in my naked eye) confused, I thought what is next? many thoughts came in my mind as "who cares that chick' But Dad was there who used to bring food for it. This story thought me that, Mothers love and care can't be done by any one , dad was only feeding but no cleaning of dirts and no warming for chick, I used to bind the nest with silver foil to keep it warm bcoz Dad bird never comes in the night it will provide only food, often I used to go and watch it, when dad brings food he gives signal to it, even the chick will respond but one day, it didn't it died. The story of Bulbul birds ended up. Even today I never allow any birds to make shelter in money plant.

i love how smart the mama is realizing her baby cant swallow it and instead of making it try again she just eats it
