I think it is a small security camera, there is no way someone stayed there for 45 days filming, I doubt the bird would feel safe with a person that close

Now I have a pair of bluetits visiting everyday however they just sit at the entrance examining it for a few minutes then fly off. I’m thinking it’s too small and I’ve made a mistake. My thinking that it would increase security from predators…we will see…🤞🤓

I bet that’s what you do when you’re trying to buy a new house.

We clean our nest boxes out every spring and put in a big handful of cedar shavings as a base layer. It fills much of the void in the box, cutting down on the birds labor. Cedar is also a natural deterrent of lice,mites and insects such as ants which have been known to swarm nests and kill baby birds.

Animals are so amazing and so much more intelligent, industrious, etc, than many ignorant humans think they are! Watching this video reinforces that knowledge and this little Blue Tit is wonderful! She's so busy, precise and careful about what she does. She's obviously a great mum! Adorable. I miss seeing the Blue Birds in the garden of my former home, where there were lots of other birdies too (Robins, Thrushes, Blackbirds,, etc).

The variation between wet and dry nest material was so interesting! At first I thought the green plants were too wet to be nest material but when she finally built the nest she used drier material!

When our large, hairy dog sheds her winter coat, we put the fur in elbows of trees in our woods. We sometimes see a bird flying by with Winnie fur in its beak. It makes us feel good knowing her soft, warm fur is cradling new life.

I'm more amazed at how she never bumped her head a single time jumping through that hole.

I love how she first inspected the bird house, pecking the walls and making sure everything was sturdy haha.

I love how fluffy she is!

I remember in third grade my teacher taught us the birds built up their nests with hair if they could find any. We had Robins all around our property. I went home and cut all the hair off of all of my My Little Pony’s and spread it all over the yard. The following year my sister and I found a nest in one of my Grandmothers bushes that was laced with blue, pink, and green hair. I will never forget that.

If only birds really had a good life. Think about it. All they do is reproduce, fly the long distance south for the winter and the long trip back in the spring. Song birds have a very short lifespan, especially the small ones.

The intelligence of this bird,as she chooses specific material in the final phase of the nest

so happy to watch this video. Nature is beyond awesome. It blows my mind at 67.
