164 00 no. Blind people don’t use different language to talk about watching movies. We still say things like see you later. I think sighted people think it’s offensive to use words related to vision but I have never met a blind person who feels that way. We lose a sense. Not the language associated with it. I’ve never experienced one blind person asking another to go listen to a movie together. It’s just weird sounding at doesn’t fit normal conversation. Maybe some blind people prefer not using language related to vision but I have never met one personally. It’s one of those assumptions by sighted people like thinking blind people have difficulty navigating stairs.

BCasted 147 i typed that using my thumbs on my phone. All iPhones have a built in screen reader called voiceover. Go to settings and search for it and turn it on to see how it works if you’re curios. I found this video by searching the words “Byrd box ending” in the search bar within the KZread app because the ending was sort of confusing. I wasn’t sure if it was suppose to just a a happy ending or whatever. I watched the video by going on Netflix, searching for it, and pressing play. On movies or tv shows made by Netflix, there’s a button that takes you to the menu where you can turn close-captioning on or off and there will be a setting called “audio descriptive” or something like that. If you turn this on, a voice will narrate visual scenes in shows or movies. For example, “girl slowly lifts her blindfold” as the character does so in the scene. Not all shows and movies on Netflix have this but all shows created by Netflix do and some other things if they had a large budget. For example marvel movies usually have it. Sorry if this response sounds sassy. I don’t mean it to lol. In general, blind people have a lot of access to a lot of the internet thanks to technology. Same goes for laptops and smartphones in general.

I am watching it right now and come to think of it, I think mallory wasn't affected because she wasn't really attached to anyone. the creatures do seem as if they try and find people's weaknesses by using voice overs of someone or people they might have had a bond with or held close to their heart.

First thing I thought of

THIS MOVIE IS KIND OF BRILLANT. This is how i see it: it's a metaphoric movie... the monsters were never physical or "real". very much like our own demons inside. the ones who attacked were always other humans or their own selves. the already broken humans that have no fears or no desire to live, got to finally be able to live freely in the world instead of being in prisons or mental facilities where they usually are locked up - "like birds in the cage". the other humans, the usually "free" humans, had many fears, and had something to lose, so they lost the ability to walk into the streets freely. sandra bullock's character started as kind of antisocial, was ready to live on her own and didn't care for human touch... by the end of it, she was ready to give herself up for the kids, who later she finally gives proper names, that make people human and not just living objects, and called them her kids. through this "apocaliptical not-really-apocaliptical" world she found her way into being a human being with empathy again. she started the movie looking down on her dark paintings with souless humans, didn't even shop to eat and survive, & ended the movie fighting to live for her own self and for others (the kids). Lastly, on the very last bit of the movie, she was looking up into the little holes of sunlight between the trees like the birds in the box that she carried in all her river trail all this time, and by accepting love and being in a society again, she was finally "free" to walk without being blindfolded - she was not "blind" anymore. it's fucking brillant! Also this whole thing was never actual real life creatures, so ofc normal humans like sandra's character were never going to be "immune". the first minutes of the movie started with the news reporter, that specificly said that this "thing" happening was not pathological or transmitted. The only way for people to be okay with it, is if they are not proper humans. They dont fear death, either broken and lost people who gave up already, or sociopaths that dont even feel a thing to begin with. Perhaps the only mistake of this prodution was calling it "horror", cause if typical horror movie fans were expecting physical monsters or a big explanation about how it "really" started and in the end all they got was a metaphor for humanity... might be a little frustating.

I have alot of holes in this movie even though I liked it. 1. How did they still have electricity and running water years later? 2. It showed Mallory partially seeing through the blind fold and blanket so why can't you do that see where you're going? 3. I know BD Wong looked at a security camera and saw a clear image of the monster, but what about military thermal goggles where you just see red shapes or green lines on a black background like an old computer game from the 80s? That may be possibly if they tried because all you need is to know if an obstacle is in front of you and go around. 4. Tom proved you can look long enough if the monster isn't there to shoot people and then put back the blind fold on before that noise shows up. Wouldn't you just look quick to see where your going or fight and hurry and put the blind fold back on? 5. What about animals and bugs? Did they die too? How are they affected. Im sure dogs would have been in this situation like blind people have dogs. Why only birds are alive? Sheesh soo many questions.

I think that the people that are “immune” to the demon were depressed before and wanted to die. So I think that the spirit targeted the innocent that didn’t want to die by using their worst fears/sadness against them. But since the immune ones always said they were happy and you need to see it’s beautiful, the spirit probably made them feel better as it “understood” them because they were most likely depressed before. I don’t know.. this is just my theory on why some were immune.

All the people who are immune are the psychotic, mentally ill ones. They aren’t effected because they were mentally insane in the first place, so the monster has a different effect on their psychological beings.
