Saddest thing was for me that butcher was actually cordial when first meeting homelander. Thought “he’s a superhero” when confronted with the truth. He did not start out wanting to hate and be in a war with sups. He was simply happy

homelander sees himself above regular people. To him, normal people are disabled. He's so much stronger, faster, better than them but is forced to help them so he is loved. That's why when he heard about his son he was so happy. Because he finally had someone like him. I think near the end of the series, homelander is going to establish a nation of supes

How do you know Vought wasn’t forcing her to stay hidden? That’s what I was thinking. They didn’t want the world to know that homelander had a son, and at the same time, a mother would never want to leave her child. I would think they threatened harm towards her, Billy, or even her son if she didn’t. Hopefully we’ll get some answers in season 2.

Anyone else hear reversed audio at about 8:35 when Homelander whispers into her ear? Could be nothing but I swear it sounds like a reversed whisper. Has the incomprehensible sway and staccato typical of reversed vocalizations.
