It’s nostalgic but not for Barbie, it’s nostalgic for the younger us and innocence I think, we’ve all felt lost and not known where we belong. It’s an every woman song.

If you watch all of her stuff, then you would know that the 22 seconds at the end of her video's avoids the next video pop-ups showing up before the end of her videos and covering part of the screen.

Really amazing how much emotional resonance they build with a relatively simple concept for the video.

Great review of a beautifully profound song. The universal question of Why am I here? Nerdy question, but did you notice she didn't finish the song on the home key? One more phrase would have resolved the ending to the home key, but she decided to leave it sounding incomplete - as if that wasn't really the end.

Universal lyrics for all human beings. Existential crisis and angst. What are we here for? What am I made for? What is the meaning of life? On so many levels... I used to fly...(the innocence of childhood.... Now lost as we are socialized and become self-reflective adults.) But now I fall down...(the awkwardness of adolescence/young adulthood, now filled with self-doubt.) I can't tell my boyfriend...(The sad inaccessibility of emotionally detached men--also victims of the wretched patriarchy and all its deformations of our humanity). And the voice...that voice. Ethereal breathless, stripped down to the absolute minimum, to convey unimaginable vulnerability. It's a song for all of us, girls and boys, women and men. All victims of sn inhuman system that deforms our essence as humans.

I’ve not really watched her before but I guess I should! That really took me in and made me tear up, it was a really pretty song but with a sad message. It’s so good to have you back, but take it easy look after yourself! 🌹🌹🌹
