Yes, agree with Billyb - The Stones basic sound is Jagger/Richards/Watts - you need Charlie. And Brian Jones knew the blues music and was already on the circuit when Mick and Keith came to watch. Brian named the band and worked on getting the early gigs. I'd trust Bill Wyman's history over Keith's at this point. Mick & Keith, great as they are, benefited greatly from Watts, Wyman, Taylor, Jones, Wood - and others - Nicky Hopkins, Stu, Billy Preston, Jimmy Miller

@Billybofey Keith's solo career was great! Not commercially, but the music he made has a whole lot of hardcore fans, including me! Two great rock 'n roll albums! I have to agree, Mick's solo albums where a lot less great, although they're not that bad either. I also miss Bill in the Stones tough, he was a big part of 'em! Luckily Charlie is still there, 'cuz he is too. Just my opinion ; )

@peacefrog1916 , Yeah! We all wait for them down hear in Brazil. Provably they can stand Brian from the grave, to make it complete. Last time I saw the stones, was on a tour 94, 95 at the giants stadium, I was so far in the upper level that I barely could see the big scream, but late I had Keith and the xpensive winos, at beacon theater NY, I went to tree Shows. That was the climax for me.

Because this, a Chuck Berry cover, would fly in front of tens of thousands in a large space without Keith pumping it and Mick working the stage... Yes? This is standard Brit Blues Rock in a club.... I’d be buzzed to be there, sure But.... Don’t get me wrong... I get yer point... and everyone of The Stones on this stage are immensely talented musicians.... no doubt... But there’s magic in what The Glimmer Twins bring to the stage and no one here would deny that...

Let's face it, Jagger and Richards were always The Stones, the heart n' soul of the band, even before the band was formed. It was when Jagger and Richards were teenagers getting into the blues and rock n' roll together that the band was really formed. Brain Jones and Stu just came along for the ride a bit later. They were great musicians, but they ended up as side-kicks next to Jagger and Richards.
