Honestly, I think part of his success is the fact that he was a pioneer, and the first to break many taboos. You hear Stern do sex jokes or bathroom humor and think "there's Stern, doing his thing. Always the rebel for decades now," On the other hand, you (meaning most people) hear some neophyte startup do the same bit, and think "wow, what a jackass. Toilet humor is fine but give it a rest."

Bill O'Reilly lasted for a very long time. I would not be surprised to see him first weasel and then claw himself back to a high profile position. Among the 'me too' guys who were pushed out because of their boorish to rapey behavior, O'Reilly's actions were quite mild.

The majority of Stern's compensation was in the form of convertible Sirius stock options. The $500m number was assuming all of the stock options were exercised. However, the stock is worth less now than when he signed the deal, and most of the options are worthless. He still got a big chunk of cash, but he isn't lying when he says it is "nowhere near" 500m.

MrSkele10101 and you are able to judge Stern why? You think his ways are negative because of the way he exploits women's sexuality? Funny how you can turn a blind eye to everything that O'Reilly has taken advantage of from Gays, to blacks, to the poor to science...at least Stern acknowledges things he does wrong where O'Reilly lives and dies on his high horse

Howard is pure genius. As flamboyant as he is, his authentic genius was shown in his live coverage of the 9/11 tragedy. He was better, smarter, more real than any network or cable news show. He became a no nonsense, straight forward radio man in an instant.

Whether you're a fan or not of Howard, he is captivating to listen to. He has that "it" factor to command your attention. I've watched a lot of his content and he is very conceited in this video which is surprising. He's basically talking like "I'm the fucking man" the whole time.

He has to or else O'Reilly will dominate, since his personality is similar. Stern is very calculated. He press releases his incredible salary but also downplays it by saying he's not getting all of it.

God for such an American enthusiast, Bill's got no concept of free speech. It's the fucking principle that Howard's fighting for. All Bill focused on was the cursing and toilet humor, but it's not about that. It's about the first amendment right.

I've seen these comments so many times it's nauseating. Do you really think, in this PC world today they would let even HALF of the old raunchy material on the air? Were the people saying this not listening to what Howard was saying? They're physically not allowing that type of material on the air anymore. Not even on XM radio.

Not that I have a problem with the cursing, mind you, but why did he feel the need to lie about it? And oh no, don't anybody ELSE be a wise-ass! Only Howard's allowed to do that. Huh. I like to see people put him under pressure. He almost always cracks!

***** Oh, c'mon Sob Baget (clever, BTW), no "interview" with Bill O'Reilly is a real interview, you know that. He certainly should've known it too, yet he still let Bill get to him.
