Honestly, I think part of his success is the fact that he was a pioneer, and the first to break many taboos. You hear Stern do sex jokes or bathroom humor and think "there's Stern, doing his thing. Always the rebel for decades now," On the other hand, you (meaning most people) hear some neophyte startup do the same bit, and think "wow, what a jackass. Toilet humor is fine but give it a rest."

Bill O'Reilly lasted for a very long time. I would not be surprised to see him first weasel and then claw himself back to a high profile position. Among the 'me too' guys who were pushed out because of their boorish to rapey behavior, O'Reilly's actions were quite mild.

I can’t express how satisfying it is to watch Stern take over this interview and completely control the situation. He doesn’t give O’bigot an inch of space and just dismantled his whole agenda while simultaneously promoting himself and his newly established radio contract.

15 years later and SiriusXm has over 100 million subscribers. Howard is a Genius

God I love how he can act smooth as anyone while completely slamming someone all the while they feel complimented. It's truly a talent that few have in his industry and he knows who and when to turn it on to in order to get what he wants out of his interviews and interviewees.

I just joined SiriusXM after the 6 mos complimentary subscription that came with my car and its all because of Howard Stern. He's the only reason. Best interviewer bar none.

I remember thinking satellite radio wasn't a good idea, but Howard was right on the money about how things were changing in the world. He was basically 10 years ahead of the game.

I never really followed Stern but I gotta say, seeing O’reilly, the automaton, get ruled over on point after point of his aggressive leads & then called a wise-ass on his own overinflated home court advantage, was completely refreshing. I’m 58 years old and Howard is honestly the best front man of radio, I’ve been a fan since the first time I listened to him.

Howard may not be the most humble in this interview, but I don't think he really needs to be when everything he's saying is absolutely true.

This was just awesome. Whether you like Bill O'Reilly, how many people would tune in to see these two going at it weekly?

You know there’s people that are born to be “The Boss” , that’s Howard he killed the interview very smart very funny guy !!!

The majority of Stern's compensation was in the form of convertible Sirius stock options. The $500m number was assuming all of the stock options were exercised. However, the stock is worth less now than when he signed the deal, and most of the options are worthless. He still got a big chunk of cash, but he isn't lying when he says it is "nowhere near" 500m.

“Look at you.” Howard took total control of the interview the second it started.

3:34 Starts on Sirius Satellite January 2006. Dec 2017 - still going strong. Oh, and where is Bill now?

Because he works for Fox, which is really the only reason why they bring people they don't like or agree with on their shows. Fox is a Republican station that caters to doing one thing, pleasing the corporate sponsors by misrepresenting Liberal facts and attacking guests in unnecessary ways, all the while claiming to be "Fair & Balanced".

There's nobody who can out debate Howard Stern, no matter what you think of him, he is a business and marketing and entertainment genius. The best of his time.

Howard Stern isn't exactly one of my favorite folks (not that I have anything against him), but I can't help but root for the guy when he's arguing with Bill.

Two of my favorites.

Howard is pure genius. As flamboyant as he is, his authentic genius was shown in his live coverage of the 9/11 tragedy. He was better, smarter, more real than any network or cable news show. He became a no nonsense, straight forward radio man in an instant.

"We'll do it live! Fuck it! I'll write it and I'll do it live!"

Stern has authority and power over Bill O. He has control over the interview. Just like Trump says YOU HAVE TO NEGOTIATE FROM POWER.

What a man Howard Stern is. So simple yet so censored it's crazy.
