True story, I used to play in a band at this venue where 2 wrestlers would bartend. The one guy found out I'm a huge wrestling mark (hes still in the business so I won't say his shoot name) and asked me who my favorite wrestler was. Without any hesitation and in my best cuban accent I told him, "Razor Ramon, Chico." To which he slapped me in the stomach and put me in the Razors Edge. Now up until this point it was the coolest thing that ever happened to me. There I was in the crucifix powerbomb and just as he was going to let me go (not actually delivering the move mind you) my dumbass friend bumped into us with an amplifier causing the bartender/wrestler to lose his grip and drop me back first on said amp. Since that day my back has never been the same, it was 15 years ago. From that moment any miconceptions I had from my grandparents saying "they know how to fall so they are safe doing big moves" was shattered, much like my back. It made me a bigger fan without a doubt.

The wrestler he's talking about, Antonio Inoki, also "fought" Muhammad Ali, back in the 70's. If I remember it correctly, as soon as the bell rang, Inoki fell on his back and just kicked Ali's legs, repeatedly. I have no idea what the rules were for the "fight". It was long ago, but I do seem to remember Ali, and everyone else for that matter, being upset at the way Inoki refused to get up. Are you suggesting that Inoki was only allowed to lie on his back and kick Ali's legs? I doubt Ali would've ever signed up for that.
@ThePandaBrawler
6 жыл бұрын
Apparently what happened is that Ali and his people thought that it was just going to be a show, kinda like pro wrestling. But Inoki said he was actually going to fight Ali. So they had to renegotiate the rules of the fight and told Inoki that he couldn't grapple and can only kick with one knee on the mat. This all happened just a few days before the fight. Basically it was either Inoki tries boxing with Muhammad Ali or go for leg kicks while laying down.
@scottavenged7x Жыл бұрын
Inoki is a mean dude. A guy you really don't wanna get pissed off, but as long as his opponent plays the game he will too. The moment he gets a whiff of a shoot you better believe he's about to beat your ass bloody.

Japan has the toughest wrestlers in the world. They are bat shit crazy and have been ahead of the industry for it. They're still rock stars over there, compared to the mid-level success in entertainment it is in most other countries at best. They just lay in to each other with everything and it's hard to go "this is fake" because they're really beating the shit out of each other, even though it is a scripted feud.

The Great Antonio had one of the most disgusting, slovenly appearances of any wrestler of his era. By 1977, the Great Antonio was well past his prime. It was a huge mistake for him to no-sell Antonio Inoki and try to shoot on him. After the beating that the Great Antonio took from Inoki, it’s no wonder that he finally retired from pro wrestling.

Inoki is a mean dude. A guy you really don't wanna get pissed off, but as long as his opponent plays the game he will too. The moment he gets a whiff of a shoot you better believe he's about to beat your ass bloody.
What about Ravishing Rick Rude? Whe he won a match he would pick out a "lucky" girl from the crowd who would have to make out with him and who was also acting with him.

randy mitchell did you hear the one about the time he picked Jake Roberts "escort" for the night, well when he laid her back for the "Rude Awakening", he got a mouthful of Jake's snakejizz.....that's the rumor but, Rick Rude was known for being a legit badass, so take it or leave it.

Rick Steiner, Perry Saturn, and Bob Holly from Tough Enough all had pretty good shoot matches.
Judging from the thumbnail, i thought he was going to mention the time Bruiser Brody waited outside a promoter's hotel room with a baseball bat because that promoter thought he would get away with not paying him.
Bill burr ,Joey Diaz ,and Lou Anderson are the best story tellers.
Hot Rod is in heaven laying it all out for GOD
The one with the new guy who dropped the psycho on his head was Mike Bell. He dropped Perry Saturn on his head after a snapmare takedown, causing Saturn to literally just see red, lose his mind and beat him senseless. Saturn, years later, has said how sorry he is to Mike Bell. He says he actually threw him out of the ring so he could keep himself from beating up Mike more than he already had.
He needs to have jim cornette on for an interview
I can't believe he forgot the greatest of all time, Super Calo.
Bill burr knows wrestling.
Picture from the Heat is classic.
I've heard his before and I just realized the first shoot match he was talking about was that Perry Saturn one 😂
Just thinking of this today RIP INOKI

Japan has the toughest wrestlers in the world. They are bat shit crazy and have been ahead of the industry for it. They're still rock stars over there, compared to the mid-level success in entertainment it is in most other countries at best. They just lay in to each other with everything and it's hard to go "this is fake" because they're really beating the shit out of each other, even though it is a scripted feud.
He was talking about Saturn...that guy was a psycho.
“SD Jones never won but he was the coolest” lmao
He was talking about Perry Saturn throwing that jobber out of the ring on his head.
The Great Kabuki Junk Yard Dawg
He's talking about Perry Saturn beating the shit out of Mike Bell. Its the whole reason he got stuck with the "Moppy" gimmick. I guess Saturn was legit knocked out on his feet and just went apeshit to defend himself after Bell dropped him on his head twice.
And he’ll just fu**!ng throw ya!….😆😆😆😆
I wish he saw faded ve stan hansen in japan
Match he is on about first is Perry Saturn. He said he threw the guy out because he was knocked stupid. Didn't know what he was doing. They stuck him with the mop gimmick for that shit hahaha

LOL Perry Saturn?
The Great Antonio wouldn't sell for anyone. He's one of the worst workers ever and people hated working with him. Antonio Inoki was a legit bad ass and a legendary Japanese wrestler.
