Funny story, for some reason it came to be that getting slapped by Antonio Inoki in Japan was good luck or a show of respect that kind of imbued you with fighting spirit. Many people would come up to Antonio Inoki and ask to be slapped by him. A former UFC champion, Lyoto Machida used to fight in Pride FC in Japan. After one of his matches, Inoki was impressed by his performance. He met Machida outside of the ring and slapped the hell out of him. Machida did not know about this tradition and just took the slaps from him and bowed.

The one with the new guy who dropped the psycho on his head was Mike Bell. He dropped Perry Saturn on his head after a snapmare takedown, causing Saturn to literally just see red, lose his mind and beat him senseless. Saturn, years later, has said how sorry he is to Mike Bell. He says he actually threw him out of the ring so he could keep himself from beating up Mike more than he already had.

The Great Antonio had one of the most disgusting, slovenly appearances of any wrestler of his era. By 1977, the Great Antonio was well past his prime. It was a huge mistake for him to no-sell Antonio Inoki and try to shoot on him. After the beating that the Great Antonio took from Inoki, it’s no wonder that he finally retired from pro wrestling.

The 2002 Top Gear started by Andy Wilman and Jeremy Clarkson was nothing like the Top Gear from before (1978 to 2000). The biggest problem with post season 22 Top Gear , is that they're trying to copy Clarkson's, Hammond's & May's style. Where those guys found they're footing by just being themselves, new top gear just tries to copy the dynamic between the classic trio, except you can't. Those guys were the best at what they did, lightning in a bottle. It's like thinking you can be a better classical composer than Richard Wagner. It's just not gonna happen. These guys were at the top of the current paradigme, there is nothing beyond that, and if you try you'll fail. All you can do is be different, just like Clarkson's Top Gear was from the original, new Top Gear could have been a serious car show, basically Chris Harris on Cars with a bigger budget, but they hired "entertainers" like that unfunny ginger Evans to emulate what was successful before and totally and unsurprisingly blew it. New Top Gear is like listening to Jimmy Buffet attempting to cover Black Dog by Led Zeppelin.
