    I'm a little bit late to the party here with this but its awesome. Mad upload, Animal. Id seriously consider making Boss the face of your brand. He's attracting a lot of attention right now. Ever thought about doing a similar thing to what Jay Cutler did and doing like a 4x 15 minute documentary on him?

    I tried doing sumo for the first time about two months ago as I was mainly used to conventional and I know there is carryover amongst the two. I thought maybe even if I like it enough I'll switch. I think it fucked up my hip because ever since then when I squat especially I feel a lot of tension and pressure on my hip. It's not excruciating but more like a nagging pain. No clue what to do. I warmup, do some light foam rolling and stretching then get into my warmup sets and working sets. Don't know wtf I did. Anyone got any advice or went through similar things?

    it seems to me dan green starts with his hips considerably lower than a guy like richard hawthorne. note how hawthornes calves are always vertical, where as green bends his, and as a result has much lower hips. not to say one if wrong or one is right, just point out the difference.

    Try both Find what stance works best for you or feels best for you. For example I pulled conventional at my meet but recently I felt as if sumos were better for my frame.

    i always have the problem when i lift slightly heavier weight( 120kg+, for me its heavy) my hips rise and i end up doing like a still leg deadliest, any help would be appreciated

  • @scrumpoxjnr

    I used to have this problem. I think the problem for me what I was setting up too loose - so as soon as I started pulling my legs would extend and my hips shoot up because my shoulders and lower back weren't ready to pull yet. Now as I set up I like to keep myself tight like a coiled spring. Once I'm set up and have my grip on the bar I like to keep a fair amount of tension on the bar before I even start pulling - then once I pull on the bar and it starts to leave the ground I focus on tensing my glutes and pushing my hips forward as the weight is rising. I find that everything comes up together when I do it like this. This has helped not only with preventing my hips from shooting up but has also increased by bar speed. Hope this helps

  • @cuzimrickjames

    @cuzimrickjames

    each individual person has their own "technique" there are certain things that are universal... but those little nuances of difference are often personal preferences... it is great to watch a number of the "masters" and beasts that have made the deadlift their own and learn what works best for yourself.

    A lot of great deadlifters are tall to really tall: Benni Magnussen and Andy Bolton are both 6'. The greatest deadlifters in Strongman competition include Mark Felix 6' 4", Terry Hollands 6' 6" and current WSM Brian Shaw 6'8", Hafþór Júlíus "Thor" Björnsson 6' 10". You can certainly do something about being frail and weak. No excuses.
