    Absolutely gorgeous results. Excellent instructions. Thanks for not playing music while you are teaching. I don’t know why people think we need to have music background while trying to hear/process directions. Love love your stencils and color choices. YOU rock!!!

I've had my gelli mats for a year but haven't wanted or really understood the pulling and layering techniques but you are a FABULOUS TEACHER. I understand so .ugh more that I might try when I get my orders. Thank you 😊 💓 ☺

    I'm learning a lot watching these videos but I would love to see how these layered prints are used to complete a project. I am having trouble getting decent results with a gelli plate and even with having two books as guides I still can't seem to produce a professional result. Perhaps watching an entire step by step video that shows a project from start to finish could help take the mystery out of the techniques and materials needed to end up with a successful piece of artwork using gelli plate.

    I get lots of inspiration from your videos, thank you! Why do you advise to get rid of the mylar sheets? I always put them back on my plate before putting back in the box…

    They are part of the manufacturing process and if you read the insert in your gel plate they advise you to remove them and discard them, not to store them with the plate.

    Grateful for you and broke. Can I make opaque paint more translucent without eliminating hue?

  • @ElizabethStHilaire

    @ElizabethStHilaire

    3 жыл бұрын

    I don’t think you can make issue paint more translucent due to the nature of the pigment. You can try applying it thinly or adding water. It depends on the quality of paint you are using. Golden, high quality paint, will dilute pretty nicely but opaque pigments will never be one totally translucent.

    Thanks for letting us know abour the mylar! Question...both my plates have circular indents in the gell. They came that way. I'm using them anyway but was wondering why they are there?

  • @ElizabethStHilaire

    @ElizabethStHilaire

    2 жыл бұрын

    If anything presses on the plate long term it can indent it permanently. If they came that way, I would’ve returned it. They will affect every print you make and there’s no way to get them out

    I had bought several smaller gel plates that did not come in clam shells, they came from dickblick, the only thing they had to keep them clean were those mylar sheets. They store very nicely sandwiched between them without any damage whatsoever. Perhaps you have experienced damage by using the mylar sheets in conjunction with the clamshell. But just using the mylar sheets does work.

  • @ElizabethStHilaire

    @ElizabethStHilaire

    As per the manufacturer, the mylar sheets are NOT meant to be used to store them, they should be discarded and the plate should be stored in the clam shell alone, without the insert and without the mylar. :) I was a creative team artist for Gel Press, that was part of our training, and it says the same on the insert for care and storage. Just to let you know.

    Very interesting and creative use of your stencils and gelli plate. I made the mistake of replacing the Mylar on my plate and have some bubble marks on my plate. Can you recommend any way to restore the plate? I’m definitely going to buy some of your stencils. They’re fabulous.

    Hi Kim, Gel Press suggests you put the plate back in the clam shell, without the Mylar, and store it on the shelf like a book. Nothing stacked on top of it.
