Is anyone paying attention to the treatment of this video...he's a black man stuck in America, telling you that his desire is to go back to a place his heart is longing for...that place is Africa. How many of our people share this actually desire. He's speaking to us from almost 30 years ago... Sure the Commodores sang it first in the 70's but I'm not sure they were singing this song in the same expression as Bub did in this video... which is why I probably favor Bub's version slightly better than theirs. This video makes these lyrics even more prominent because I believe when the African in America stops doing anything that involves partaking in this system of supremacy, and degregation, neglect and oppression...their own hearts and blood will begin to speak to them and that voice is going to start screaming..."ZOOM"

One if the bass player by the name of Ronald from the Commodores started writing the song but couldn't finish due to his wife being sick. Took it to the group & Lionel had something he wrote that was missing the beginning. They put it together & BOOM! Zoom was created. Ronald started writing it for his sick wife but couldn't finish it.

I was literally watching this video on my cellys tv on bet in my last night of doing 8 years in prison on November 13th at 4:30am 1997. The CO came to my cell and said are you ready Mr Jones and I was like HELL YEAH ABSOLUTELY!! I haven't looked back or been back since!! I flew away far away from there and that life!! ZOOM. It took me 4 different trips to the Colorado Penatentery system to be able to literally live in the legal law library as well as regular library and become a complete cognitive thinking RENISANCE MAN!! That was some of the toughest but most beneficial times and thing that ever happened to me in my life. Thank you God in Jesus name Amen 🙏.

I don't compare voices by who came first because that does not matter to me. It's ok for people to sound alike regardless of who produces a like type of sound first. That's why the world is the way it is now because everybody wants to be in a competition. It's ok if two people sounds the same.
