Several plots of Chinese cabbage were planted last fall.
The winter is relatively warm, and many Chinese cabbages have sprouted.
Before the Chinese New Year, I collected some spicy cabbage and Northeast sauerkraut.
After fermenting for a period of time, all kinds of delicious food were made after spring.
去年秋天種了幾塊地的白菜。
冬天比較暖和,不少白菜都起薹了。
過年之前收了一些做辣白菜和東北酸菜。
發酵了一段時間,開春後便做了各種好吃的。

It's pao cai not Kimchi, pao cai is a traditional Chinese dish similar to kimchi. However traditional kimchi was fermented radishes, only in the 1900s did they include Chinese cabbage. Also the spices the two countries add are different in their recipes, as too the vegetables they add.

The natural landscape around them was so beautiful that I couldn't help but admire it. I felt like I had been taken to another world where there was no worry or stress of daily life. I am very grateful to those who made this video and gave me such a wonderful experience.

Pork and sauerkraut is one of my favorite dishes. I use a much leaner pork roast to make mine because I can’t digest too much pork fat. I use an apple chopped up or some plain applesauce to balance out the sourness of the sauerkraut.

I love to see traditional Chinese food being made in the traditional way, well any culture for that matter. Although it annoys me when people who don't bother to educate themselves feel the need to condemn someone and declare they know more about their culture than the people living it. Pao Cai and Kimichi aren't the same thing, similar yes but not the same. They involve different spices & from my reading on the variations traditional kimchi was fermented radishes, they only started using Chinese cabbage in the 1900s, there are also variations about the vegetables added. Yes they are similar but not the same. How about we stop telling people they don't know their own culture when they are literally living it in its most rawest form and assuming we know everything instead why not try to educate yourself on another's culture and be open to learning.

@@sumayyahsyahiidah6613 everyday we learn more. I know I read up and did a lot of research after seeing something similar. It was actually quiet interesting reading the differences, from storage vessels, to herbs & spices, even the vegetables used. It was important to me to learn because I don't like dismissing one culture due to my lack of knowledge. Someone put me in my place once & I decided to prove them wrong but after several hours reading they weren't wrong and I learnt to not assume I know more avout someone's own culture than they do. Granted I wasn't a fan of how they put me in my place but in hindsight I was not respectful for their culture so now I try to be more open & advocate for other cultures.

I've done it before and I look back and think who did I think I was to tell a Chinese person about their culture. You have to be pretty arrogant to assume you know more about someone's culture than they do. Hard lesson I learnt but one I needed to learn & others should also.
