The belief of Purgatory. etc. And I need to tell you "catholic" means universal, and that word is in the Nicene Creed that I recite every Sunday morning. What you mean is "Roman Catholic". All of the reasons I mentioned of not being Roman Catholic are those items are add-ons not present in the early church.

Secondly, you call it a medical termination of pregnancy, but pregnancy is a completely natural process of the female body. What would need to be treated here? And even if there is a health issue (I don’t remember what it’s called exactly) a maternal-fetal separation should be performed which gives the baby as much of a chance to live as possible. Like many Protestants. I too disprove of abortion, but the American president Biden although Catholic must realise that it is not his job to enforce non-abortion on the people of America. Catholics and others are fully entitled to campaign against abortion; however there is a danger that if the present Abortion Clinics are closed then back-street unregulated and unhygienic places would probably emerge similarly to what happened during the Abolition days, when speak-easies etc flourished..

Is Biden still really Catholic?

Abortions.will happen legal or not, safe or not. Nature and lack of health care causes most of them. Medical reaons.dictate a choice of some of them. Abortions used for birth control are due to a failure of parenting and lack of access to sex education, and other birth cotrol methods and a lack of support isn't society for (often disadvantaged) mothers. making abortions illegal solves none of those issues.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..." The principle is paraphrased from Thomas Jefferson's "separation between Church & State." It has been used to express the understanding of the intent and function of this amendment, which allows freedom of religion. Maybe we should appeal your judgment verdict to the Pope, whom I think is more understanding of the US Constitution, and much more Pastoral by a million miles!!! P.S. I do not support abortion, but understand where he is positioned as POTUS, a really tough job IMHO. P.P.S. I do not support abortion, but understand why the majority of "we the people" do. When a pregnant woman cannot even count on her own doctor for fear of imprisonment, I believe we as a nation have gone off the rails...again, IMHO.

As a life-long Catholic, I take issue with two things here. 1) The use of the term "mocking." Disagreeing with one stance of a particular religion, even one's own, is not tantamount to mocking it. 2) The Bishop's inexplicable refusal to criticize the moral abomination that is Trump in favor of going after Biden who, despite being wrong on abortion (by Catholic standards) is clearly a VASTLY better man than Trump. Single-issue politics is blindered and impractical, as is selectively ignoring general moral turpitude in favor of one moral issue.

I wish support for life extended to promoting legal efforts to make raising a family more affordable. Why isn't the bishop telling Catholics to support higher minimum wages, affordable health care, affordable housing, better family leave laws., better child care assistance, etc. Having a child is very expensive and too many see any efforts to make such laws as socialist and or designed for lazy people who don't want to work. We are quick to tell mothers they must have a child that will be a tremendous expense but we are not willing to pay more for our fast food burger as fast food workers are finally making some gains in pay. We want vouchers for Catholic schools, but still want to exclude those who don't pass admission tests that are higher than public schools. Nor do Catholic schools have the capability to handle more severe learning disabilities, with the net result that Catholic schools get to exclude those disabled students they say are so precious and decrease public school funding for those with severe disabilities by funneling it to Catholic schools instead (with token programs for learning disabilities).

I'm angry that the Pope will do nothing about ex-communicating Biden and Pelosi. Both have aggressively supported and passed legislation supporting abortion and gay marriage.

From a legal point of view it would be out of line with America's values of liberty and justice for all to deny same sex partners the legal rights of marriage. The Church should be allowed to adhere to a Biblical view of marriage and reject performing ceremonies for gay couples.
