I'll be 41 in October, my tamoxifen experience (since 4/7/14) is that I get more emotional about stuff than before. Like crying while watching various TV shows whether good, bad, happy or sad. This started after I began tamoxifen and not before. Since chemo (9/13-12/13) my menstruated cycle came 3 times. The last one, two weeks ago was heavy. I went to my gynecologist, I had a sonogram and biopsy and I have a pallup but it's benign. :) Amy thank you so much for continuing your updates. You are very informative and open about your life experiences. Love you for that. You have touched so many of our lives. -Dara :)

That is so nice Dara, thank you! I have read about some women having heavy periods on Tamoxifen. I'm so glad to hear the polyp was benign. Must've been a little scary (or a lot scary!) waiting to find out!!

I hope you are doing well. I did not have chemo but my oncologists wanted me to take Tamoxifen. I'm in my 60s and had already been through menopause, and the symptoms caused by Tamoxifen were an exaggerated version of that! You are still young, so I'm sure it is worth it for you to keep taking it.

Just wanted to say thanks for the needed inspiration and courage. I watched your videos and was not as scared. I am looking forward to 10 yrs on tamoxifen. Extreme sadness, muscle pain , hot flashes and never a decent nights sleep. Oh well it is a journey I will make.

Great videos Amy thanks so much. Is that why I have been feeling so blue lately. I have been on Tamoxifen since February 2014. I am just finishing up my radiation and for the past two weeks have felt really depressed. I am not sure if it's the tamoxifen or the fact that the daily or weekly part of my cancer treatment is coming to an end. Thanks again I will be back to watch more of your videos.

End of radiation brought up a lot of feelings for me too (and I hadn't started Tamoxifen yet). I think the transition back to "normal" life is like soldiers feel coming back from a war. A bit of PTSD is involved. Be gentle with your self.

Thank you for your courage and honesty. I see my oncologist in 2 days. I dread this appointment. I put off taking tamoxifen until after my radiation treatment. One more thing I feel I have to submit to. Yeah, it's my choice to take it or not, but the research is convincing.

Thanks for your message Denise, and best wishes to you. I also put off Tamoxifen until after radiation (though my oncologist didn't want me to wait). I'd like to quit it now, but you put your finger on the reason tI don't - the research is compelling. I'm not sure if you saw this or not, but you might like the video where I'm gearing up to start taking it. Spoiler alert, there are some tears: kzread.info/dash/bejne/h5uMp9iMoa29pKQ.html

I love your honesty. Luckily for me with triple negative I don't have to do hormone therapy. Unluckily for me I'm BRCA1 positive so I have to get a hysterectomy. Menopause at 32 sounds like fun. NOT! I love your dog btw!!

Thanks for that. I agree, that does NOT sound like fun, not the menopause, not the hysterectomy. I'm so sorry you have to do all of that! On the bright side (okay, it's a slim little crack of light), I don't miss menstruating...

I am so sorry for what you've had to go through, but in all honesty I clicked on this video because of your dog! Haha. She is gorrrrrgeous. I am approaching mastectomy (double, no reconstruction thank ye very much) and today I will find out if I need to take tamoxifen afterwards. Everything is complicated by my lupus. I know what you mean about the innate distrust of your own body/symptoms. But enough about us lol.....how is your dog? Does she know when you are feeling unwell?

Thanks for your message Sadie. I'm sorry to hear about the health challenges you're facing, but glad for you that you won't have to go through the extra surgical recovery of reconstruction. I'm sorry to have to say that Millie died this winter due to unexplained kidney failure. She was eight years old. It was heartbreaking, to say the least. She was the best dog ever. I'm not sure how aware she was of how I felt, but she would nap with me when I was sick and going through chemo (something she wouldn't do normally) and once she sat beside me on the couch and put her paw on top of my hand while I was holding hands with a crying friend, and she gazed at the friend alongside me. It was incredible. ❤️

Hi Evie So sorry you're going through this. Everyone is different and it dependsx on what kind of chemo. Some people keep going to work right through treatment, only taking a little bit of time off here and there when they're feeling too run-down. For some it's much harder. I went swimming the day after my first chemo, if that's any indication. Having a little help lined up is nice if you can manage it. Someone to cook or take care of the laundry once in a while. You'll figure out what's right for you as you go along but it's not unmanageable. The worst part is not knowing what to expect. Best wishes!!!

+Evie Walker my mother has been diagnosed last week with breast cancer, i am putting her on a raw vegan diet, will do juicing and also gonna give her raw bitter apricot kernals,... many people on youtube completely reversed their cancer with no other treatments (no chemo, radiation ect) just with the diet change, its going to be hard for her, ... no milk, no meat, no grains, ... just fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds,... anyway i read your comment and you have kids in grade school, hope your okay!!!!!!!!!
