Beyoncé Declares Cowboy Carter 'Ain't a Country Album'

Ойын-сауық

Beyoncé's is sending a message loud and clear! Ahead of the release of the second act of her 'Renaissance' trilogy, 'Cowboy Carter,' the singer declares her upcoming album, 'aint no Country Album.' On Instagram, Beyoncé shares the artwork, featuring her on top of a white horse sporting blonde hair and wearing red, white and blue chaps and a white cowboy hat as she raises the American flag. She writes in the caption, 'This album has been over five years in the making. It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcome and it was very clear that I wasn’t.' 'Cowboy Carter' is set to be released on March 29.

I do have to ask a sincere question… If this is not supposed to be a country album, then why would you apply to have the distinction in the Academy of country music? It’s an honest question. This has nothing to do with race, color, sexual orientation, etc.… I just want to know if it is genuine country music or not. Each genre of music has its own nuances and specific qualities. Crossovers are hard. Beyoncé is a genius in her work in hip-hop and R&B . When I think of country, I think of prison and love, lost and broken relationships and steel, guitars, and heart-wrenching twang.

  • 2 ай бұрын

Beyonce is from a state that has it's own roots in country music as well as being a Southern girl tied to country music from other states in the South. This is just my opinion but I think when she makes the claim that the album is not a country album but a "Beyonce" album, she wants the acknowledgement of her overall talent and skill and not a specific genre to overshadow that talent and skill. I think she's at a point in her life where she wants her legacy to be remembered as multifaceted and not stuck to one specific genre or category. I would imagine that that's important to any artist that wants to be acknowledged for thinking outside the box and wanting to do more because they know artistically that they can. I don't buy Beyonce's music. That's something a lot of my ex girlfriend's have done in the past but I have heard some of her songs from various albums and I respect the grind, vision, and work ethic from Beyonce nonetheless. I don't get the impression that she's doing a country album to be "accepted" by country music artists or their base either. I think she's open for the challenge and wants to push herself and exceed her own expectations and that in itself is impressive. I wouldn't be surprised if she received a standing ovation from ppl at the next country music awards or anyone who doubts her ability in making this album. 🫡 to the 👸🏽🐝.

  • 2 ай бұрын

Also to your comment about when you think about country music you think of love and broken relationships, that's not so different from the Blues, Classic Rock, RnB, or Reggae music either. Since Beyonce is familiar with those elements of love and relationships in her music, it'd be easy for her to incorporate that into this new album.

The perspective is "bigger" than using country music as a way to distract from her artistry is what she's suggesting. 😏 More than likely she will be performing at the CMA but I understand her outlook in saying her album is a "Beyonce" album and not a "country" album. By putting it that way her legacy will be remembered as a music artist and not stuck in the categories or genres of RnB, Pop, or Country music.

😏 Anybody raised in the South is damn near "country" even if you're from a city so it's not hard to understand the concept of "country" even if you do or don't listen to country music. From Texas to Bama, Georgia, Tennessee, etc. The music whether it's Blues, Country, RnB, even Hip-Hop is still connected through testimony that ppl can relate to. Whether you listen to Country, RnB, Blues, Jazz, or Hip-Hop, everybody can attest to songs invoking the feelings of working a 9 to 5 job, losing your significant other through a breakup, having a backyard get together with barbecue, beer, and some good ppl, or getting that paycheck and doing some spending. And I'm not saying that you gotta live in the South to understand these things, I'm just saying that the concepts aren't far fetched and ppl no matter what age, ethnicity, or sex can all relate. Never bought a Beyonce album before in my life but I respect her talent and work ethic. Only the ignorant or narrow minded ppl make 👸🏽🐝 going into a new genre of music an issue cause they can't see the totality of her artistry and what she wants to accomplish. This album has more to do with the LEGACY of Beyonce than it does her making a country album. The black ppl talking down on this woman's skill and talent ain't 💩. The white ppl talking down on this woman's skill and talent ain't 💩 shit either. Anybody else that is just as ignorant to minimize the progress, growth, or vision of a talented individual because they can't see what she sees or grasp the concept of what she's doing ain't 💩 either. 😏 Stay stuck in the bubbles that a lot of y'all are used to. Country music isn't even my go to but I've heard some pretty good country songs before and I 🫡 👸🏽🐝 for her dedication and motivation to do something different.

This is not flop but Top. Deal with it. She is success personnified ! She does country cause she has a lot of space she wants to get into. Why not tomorrow making a pop-rock album in collaboration with Lenny Kravitz for example ?! She's Queen B. She does absolutely what she wants when she wants. Bye hater !

She is trying to say she wants to be the first black female artist for country music. Trying to steal that away from Linda Martell. Also trying to take the shine away from Camille Parker and Rissi Palmer. Don't make it a race thing she just really doesn't know the lovely black ladies that came before her.

Black people created country music anyways it was created through blues music the banjo is African tool that was brought over here through enslavement we soon and struggle in pain and folk music and it became popular and they would have competitions and they wouldn’t invite Black people and white people took it over as their own and I’m not bringing up rice I’m just stating a fact we created hip-hop rap R&B rock disco jazz and country music and I don’t understand why it’s so hard for artist of color to get in the country industry you know K. Michelle never wanted to be an R&B singer she always wanted to do country but her label didn’t think she would go Far i’m not saying that I am a huge fan of Beyoncé but I like the fact that she is doing this and kind of taking it back for us and her platform and status is so big they cannot ignore her and deny her like they would deny people who are unknown trying to get into the industry she dominates any category or genre she’s in not only is she amazing and a performer and artist actress and so many more the list goes on and etc. I like that she’s taking this head on and I actually quite like this song
