Beyonce (and some others in the comments) are trying to make it sound like she is the First black woman in Country Music, she isn't, currently there is Mickey Guyton, Rissi Palmer, Chapel Hart, just to name a few ... The issue with Beyonce is she even said ... this ISN'T a Country album, it's a BEYONCE album, she is going out of her way to not actually sound country, that is why people aren't welcoming it. Mix that with her trying to walk in like she owns the genre (like she does everything else) She doesn't. On top of it, the B*LLSH!T she pulled with the REAL QUEEN'S song, "Jolene". Completely disrespectful! The original song was a story, a beautifully sad, heartfelt plea. But still just a song, a story that Dolly thought up, after her husband, light-heartedly flirted (in front of her) with a bank teller named Jolene and it gave her the idea for the song, she let it flow, and wrote the song. But her song was mainly about the WOMAN, not about herself. But Everything Beyonce does is about herself, as we know.

Even those with Hispanic backgrounds like artists Freddy Fender and Linda Maria Ronstadt are excluded. Not having my first trap album that I wrote accepted for distribution by gatekeepers in the industry was devastating for me. I cannot understand why nobody wanted to listen to it, even though it had some Christian themes in the songs, it was easily the most spectacular trap album written by a writer of mixed ethnicity. It was absolutely shocking why this amazing album was not popularized due to the gatekeeping in hip hop/trap music and the fact that many of my lyrics rapped about Jesus, God, stopping crime, and promoting positive cultural themes to American Youth! I still believe it is one of the best trap albums ever written, but due to gatekeepers in the industry not liking my positive message, religion, or ethnicity, the album never made it. It also had trilingual lyrics and could have been marketed internationally! To this day I am shocked and insulted beyond words that I did not have the #1 trap/hip hop album in the world. It is devastating but I will keep writing and trying! God bless everyone!

I LOVE this song!! I think that a lot of peoples' issue is the same sour grapes they get when anyone who's already rich and famous tries something new. "How dare they?!" Good grief.... It might surprise many people to know that there are many rockers who list country singers as some of their biggest musical influences, and vice versa. Why can't we all just enjoy good music, period? If it sounds good and feels good, why does it matter who's singing it?? Alice Cooper and Glenn Campbell were the best of friends for decades. If they could get along despite being at pretty much opposite ends of the modern musical industry, Beyonce can sing country if she wants to!

I loved the interview piece with Kyle Denis…informative and highlighting the history of music and all contributions across the board in regard to country music. Folk music, the story-telling, songs sung and hummed by slaves…rich history that I hope we can continue to highlight, learn from and pass on to each new generation. The blues …the list goes on. Our artists are getting older and I would encourage to go out and attend their concerts and those festivals that highlight their music.

I just drove from South Florida to Nashville this past weekend, and I heard Texas Hold ‘Em on the old school radio played by a “new country” station. It’s the only song I would have recognized because I’m not normally a Beyoncé fan, and I’d only watched her THE video when the song first came out, but it’s a tough fit to cross over and expect to be welcomed with open arms for any music artist. How popular has Dolly Parton been with her foray into rock? In her case she’s done famous rock covers that were already known and popular and it hasn’t been an easy sell. My best to Beyoncé. I love to sing to her song “Halo” that she did at the children’s hospital. She is an earth angel! 💕

Me personally not a fan of the 2 sings we have gotten so farm Texas Holdem is a little fun but I dont consider it or 16 carriage country. My goodness: She'll NEVER get a Grammy for Record or Album of the Year this way, and she'll NEVER be Mrs.Cartwright, whitefolks will see to that🤣 Stirring Controversy is not the way. You cannot force people to accept you. She can't keep up with Adele OR Taylor Swift, I'm telling you right now. They'll always win Album or Record of the Year over Beyonce. That's how whitefolks got it hooked up. She should concentrate on making THE BEST music she can, and let her work speak for her. Happy Easter everybody 🙏😇

As the most famous person to ever walk earth, Michael Jackson, performed on national tv as a cowboy but he still was not welcomed by white country music people. So Beyonce shouldn't be surprised. Country music people treasure their country music way of singing the genre. they are protecting it. It may have started with black people just like rock and roll but white people have made it their own.🤷‍♀️and they don't want to let it go. They're preserving it. Maybe i agree with them. Many things have been poluted in modern society

The lone ranger rode a horse called Silver and had a companion called Tonto. Black Bass Reeves was a ranger, but he wasn't a lone ranger because he was part of a group of Rangers. He may have worked alone, but so did every other ranger. Get your facts straight.

@@AwesomeBabyBoomerThe character of the Lone Ranger was mostly based on Bass Reeves, who was one of the first African American US Marshals and the first to cover west of the Mississippi River, arresting over 4,000 people and serving over 35 years in what was known as Indian Territory, hence the “Lone Ranger. “It’s regarded as a part of the US Marshals history, and it was highlighted in their centennial celebration for the US Marshals Service back in the 1980s. I mean, if we’re gonna talk facts and all, let’s get it all straight. ETA: Correction, it was their Bicentennial Celebration in 1989. Also, Bass actually had a white horse and an Comanche interpreter (whom the character “Tonto” is based on). Just laying the facts on extra thick for ya 😂😂.

When I saw her performance of "Daddy Lessons" on the CMA's I remember thinking, "this performance is so good but I don't think the audience is feeling it." Sadly, I was right. There is too much racism and gatekeeping in country music. The country community needs to take a page from the rap community and be inclusive.

It is about race when a white person yells out “Get that black b*itch off the stage.” Allegedly that happened. The CMA’s also took down the performance due to racist trolling (but then put it back due to backlash). Not everything is about race but this my friend is. It’s disgusting.

Foul lyrics too much, please make some inspirational songs. Or please do a 16-track gospel album . Haha, if Beyoncé does a gospel album, hahahaha, that would be something else

So if it’s not a country album, why does she feel entitled to be welcomed into country music? She’s still singing other people’s lyrics. That’s not being a country artist. You need to have talent. Again, that’s not Beyonce. Someone steered her into doing something bad. This doesn’t fit her at all. When she gets more talented, then she’ll get welcomed. Get better at what you’re currently doing before making a huge business move. Facts.

This topic is not smart. I viewed the video from the attention about it and heard her talk about bitches. Why would someone talk about bitches is a country song and expect a warm welcome? That is after all the bare butt blatancy that is also not country music. She can sample country style as R&B or hip hop! That does not mean that as a very first endeavor showing interest in country music from her own release that she now defines country music talks about bitches as puts bare butts in people's viewpoints. It's so unfortunate what has happened to media since digitization, but let's remember that we can think and discern if not analyze.

The song is nice, but this is just like a DRAG PERFORMANCE and a ANOTHER COSTUME for her. She is not rooted to country music, THAT'S WHY the country music community isn't welcoming her. SHE WILL MOVE ON FROM COUNTRY, just like she already moved on from dance/house music like she did on her last album. And she'll just go back to R&B. This is just a one-album thing for her, it's all gimmicks, that's why they don't embrace her. Just like I'm sure the rap community wouldn't embrace Justin Bieber or Ariana Grande if they suddenly dropped a surprise album and started rapping all over it calling it "hip hop".
