Two great entertainers. 💖
What a special treat to see Betty and Johnny together again. I still think that their water sketch was their best, even though I enjoyed this appearance.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen the water sketch. I remember Tarzan and Jane, this one of course. But not the water sketch. I’ll have to look it up. Thanks!

Seeing an adolescent elephant that would've been trained from earth like a circus elephant is pretty sad.

@@Jayess-c Ohhhhhhh settle down ! There's always one, that has to bring this up ! Back at that time, they were treated better (in America) than anywhere else in the world. They were well taken care of.
God, I love these Carson clips. Seeing him and Betty together in this one is funny. And her husband Allen Ludden was still alive at this time, too. ❤
A true animal lover. No surprise that the elephant listened to her
I laughed when Betty White asked the elephant about show biz
Betty was an amazing entertainer and person I believe.

She was really something special! Did you see her on the show when Dom DeLuise was sitting next to her? She was asking Johnny questions from cards that she had with her. And she had Dom screaming with laughter. I miss them all.
Betty White was full of energy ❤❤❤.

Hard to believe she's gone. She looks amazing for 56 years old in this interview!

She was hot
Believe it or not, my first memory of Betty White was in “the golden girls”. I think I was only about 10 years old when the show started. She really was something special! I miss them all.

Cool ❤
Betty wrote a lovely book about animals and the people they help; great book to read to a youngster!
Priceless 🤗
I loved Johnny Carson and Betty White ❤️

I “met” her as Rose on GG. I was young then. It’s wonderful to see her in this context. ❤

Me too! Maybe odd for a 10-year-old boy to be watching the Golden girls but then again I was only 10. And I enjoyed her acting, she cracked me up.

I met her as betty white, and it was the best 15 mins of my life!
So few remain that realize how great Johnny’s Ed Sullivan impression was. 😂
Betty lived in Monterey CA near the end of her life. She gave a lot of time and money to the local SPCA. Apparently her big passion was raptors. She would volunteer with the big rescue birds. 🎉 Brave loving lady who is very much missed. p.s. the A-SPCA in the long TV adds is NY city only. They are not representing the whole country. Yeah, good job for them, but local SPCAs need direct support too. 😊
Betty was a real golden girl
Johnny was so perfect in performances like this. Imagine Betty was very kind to this elephant, unlike some trainers
I thank my Nephew likes Elephants also, heard thy lost one near his home!😂😂❤
It would be great to see some more classic Don Rickles videos!
beautiful creature

Agree we all love Betty White
You are correct sir
She was born in 1922 and this clip is from 1978. She doesn’t look 56. What was her secret????
I looked up Dondi to see if the elephant was still alive but Dondi died in 2010 of unknown causes; charges were filed against the owner for abuse and neglect. 😢 Poor Dondi.

😢 I hope we have learned since then. Babies need their mothers and elephants should be our friends, not our income sources.

I mean it's fun to look at but it most certainly wasn't much fun for the animals

❤❤❤❤❤
Poor thing...she is cramped up with 4 feet on that small stool!
Imagine Betty and Johnny talking politics all the time 😌
Can you post the full episode? I'd love to see Monteith & Rand, I studied with John Monteith and he was amazing.
What couldn't that woman do?
That must've been one sturdy freight elevator.

Any more Michael Landon or Burt Reynolds shows?
Exploited baby elephant. Thank goodness we’ve moved on since then.
This has not aged well: poor old elephant trained to stand on a stool and do tricks.
