One reason I don’t watch the Late Show anymore-Johnny never tried to influence politics. He made fun of all of them in fun, not to relay his views. He was the best.i don’t need a comedian to tell me how to vote!

I grew up watching Johnny Carson with my mom and dad. After the Honeymooners we watched the Tonight Show, I loved it! Johnny was my favorite late night host, along with all his guests! He was the best, and I Miss him! He was the king of Late nights, there will never be another like Johnny Carson⭐️!

I truly miss these times of my life. Thank You.

I'm 47 years old and my parents watched Carson every night....now I see why they loved him so much....his show was the best

Nobody and I mean Nobody can fill this man's shoes. He was one of a kind. I have watched him since the sixties and he was the very best.

@@darajsl .....These were the good ol days of television. This was when television was at its best and we will never see the likes of it again. I sure do miss the Johnny Carson Show and The Dean Martin Show. Saturday night Live and Laugh In were even funny back then. Everybody got older and died. So sad for everyone.

One of the things people always liked about him was how kind and generous he was with little children and seniors. The country loved him. He was the best.

He would always be able to make the normal folks on the show feel at ease. He would always draw back to his midwest roots of Nebraska. He put them at ease within 2 or 3 minutes. Look up the 97 yr old Illinois farmer. The lady who collected Potato chips that had profiles of famous people. Drew Barrymore at 5 was good. Carlin and pryor together. Steve Martins Flydini act is great. Hope, Dean Martin with George Goebel as last guest is even making Bob Hope crack up.

I totally agree! When we lost Johnny we lost the best that ever was!

Carson was the absolute BEST!!! Falon, Kimmel, Letterman, Noah, Meyers and Colbert can't hold a candle to him and never will be able to. He was the KING of late night comedy and did it without pulling politics and crassness into it. These others can't buy a laugh. Carson was phenomenal and will never be matched. He is missed!!

Johnny Carson set the standard for style, comedy and the BAR for late night television. NO body else has ever come close to his talent. RIP Johnny because those of us that grew up watching you with our Fathers will never forget you and always enjoy everything you did. We'll always love you! ❤

I was a child but once in awhile I was allowed to stay up to watch him. He was a legend even then.

What a comedic genius Johnny was, greatly missed and no one will ever replace him.

There was only ONE Johnny Carson ... and 'Here's Johnny."

In 1973 I was in 3rd grade and for a class project we had to choose someone famous to write to. I chose Johnny Carson. A few weeks later I received an 8x11 envelope in the mail with a letter and signed photograph from him. How I wish I still had them so you can only imagine how nice it is to re-live those days days now with everyone who loved him and the show. Thank you so much for uploading these clips.

I feel blessed, I’m 14 and watching these. I feel very educated on those times.

Am now 70 but when many of these shows were first shown I was overseas in the Air Force (1972 - 1974) and now to see these episodes from those times is like watching Johnny Carson for the first time .. I hid under the skirted chair my father sat up on and watched the tonight show with my parents when I was a toddler! Can't miss out on that fun! 😂

What a great idea! I miss watching late night shows, but they are now so political and unfunny. In order to be funny, most hosts feel they must do at the expense of others nowadays. James Gordon is fairly good but even he has done that. I liked Mr. Ferguson but he didn't last long, probably because he was unique. I grew up with Johnny Carson and looked forward to his shows and didn't feel I was going to get a diatribe about what the host felt. As someone else said, the guests were most important.

I miss Carson so very much - there’s just never been another who’s come close to his comfortable home fun funny late night magic since he retired back in May of 92, some 30 years ago. I remember being a kid growing up in the 60s it was a treat to be allowed to stay up to watch for certain guests. Don Rickles was one such guest. Side splitting laughter always.

Nobody beats Johnny!

No one better night time show he did it all Johnny sorely missed R.I.P. JOHNNY 👍😎💙🙏

I am 35 who grew up post Carson (Leno, Letterman, Fallon, etc). I recently stumbled upon this video of him and now I can see why the older generation loved and still love this man. He had a magic and charm no one after him could ever amount to.

Johnny Carson demonstrated that comedy could be good clean fun. He was a true genius. Miss him and all the staff of the tonight show. 🙏🏻👍🏻💕

This is soooooooo good! 6/2022 and I laughed harder then the show's we see today. Lot's of great PEOPLE! So many missed R.I.P .. I LOVED THIS SHOW!

Agree.. I have been saying for the past 4-5 years especially, I miss him so much. There is no one like him. He is an absolutely brilliant comedian and Interviewer and personality. No one can top him or even come close! Yea the younger guys on late night are good but not Johnny Carson. Norm MacDonald should have been given a shot after Johnny retired.. not Leno 🙄

It really was a great segment!

I slept with Carson EVERY NIGHT for decades laughing my ass off for the entire show. Sleeping after an hour of laughing and tears rolling down my cheeks, and feeling happy gave me a wonderful sweet sleep. I was LOST when you went off the air. Thanks for all the years of laughing till I cried and crying when you left. Nothing great lasts forever. Thank you for being the last thought as I sweetly drifted into a happy stressless sleep. I MISS YOU MORE THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW. Only the good die young, for sure!

I know! The reaction he had when the marmoset peed on him was priceless! He was always funny when they had animals on. I loved it when the one scared him & he jumped in Ed’s arms. It was great! He was truly funny on the show. I wonder if he was that funny all the time. You know the writers didn’t have anything to write after his monologue, that was all Johnny. There will never be another like him.

When Robin Willians was on it was halarious. The two of them were so funny because Robin was so off the wall any way.

Johny Carson is one of only and handful of entertainers who could be inserted into any decade and be considered the funniest, wittiest, most charming guy in the room. His comedy hasn't aged a bit!!

Yes it has, it was mostly puns and boomer humor. Letterman had much more influence on modern comedy’s sarcasm and subverting expectations.

@Mr. Ryan "puns and boomer humor".. What are you? 12? Nah, his humor was witty and charming, not many people possess that today, not to the degree of Carson.

@@DGS_1992 I’m 38. I’m not saying there isn’t value to it, just that it’s not the type of humor someone under 20 has grown up with and thus hasn’t aged spectacularly.

@@MrRyan-wu4jx his humor hasn't aged any. In fact, it's timeless. Chances are, your favorite comedians idolize Carson.. Or, their favorite comedians did..

I still miss his monologues tremendously.
