Question about the mustang i am trying to purchase one right now and i will need to replace the quarter panels but i will not be able to wrap it or paint it and i was wondering what you did to your mustang to make the paint look that good

I agree Dave, i enjoy his channel, he gives us old timers reason to hope that his generation isnt lost.....but i fear for their future, as california is killing hot rods....the lights are getting dim, its only a mater of time.......my heart breaks for the car people in Cali.....

@@OutlawMercenary Agree.....I grew up in So Cal 1960-1970 but happy that my state allows me a lot of freedom on pre 1975 cars......which all of mine are! But good for Ben and friends!!

I love that wide body treatment. It's nice to see actual metal work and retaining the shape of the factory wheel openings. That hood and spoiler tie it all up. If I owned another early 2nd gen RS that would be the way to do it! Keep up the great work guys!

the Freedom Bell, I remember when they built that in1976, I use to go there on my CB750/65 mustang lots of good times a few pic's. nice roads to cruise on , just watch for those cops, They only Ring that Korean Bell 4 times a Year !

Even if your car is "pre-smog" era, technically in California you're still supposed to be all "original" under the hood. Yeah, yeah, I know most get away with stuff (I wasn't an angel either) which is why when I used to go cruising in my modified 67 Mustang, I avoided those rolling smog sniffing stations on the streets by turning around and going the long way to my destination. Ask you dad about the old CHP safety check points they used to have. I got caught in those many times in my hot rod Pinto.

@@FourSpeedFilms that issue was proved just about the time catalytic converters were installed in 1975. Some gearheads modified their engines for top efficiency, not necessarily max horsepower, and actually produced less pollution and more power than when they came out of the factory, but you can't convince the tree hugging politicians. Just about all new engines operate a lot more efficiently than the older motors, but again, politics get in the way.

Hey Ben, check out a 1982 Mercury Capri RS on offer up. That thing is screaming 80’s and it’s really clean for it’s year. The owner has put a lot of money in it. It looks like it has a wide fender from factory.

Unfortunately Cali passed a new law for engine swaps. The Car has to pass smog for whichever is newer, the original Chassis, or the Engine swapped in. So, if you use a period correct engine, your good. But if you swap a modern powerplant into an old car, you gotta run cats and run on factory map or its illegal.

How do you do that to the spoiler ?

Enjoy them while you can because they are getting rare.....very rare. And COSTLY.

Nice ls swap sounds great. Love the dedication to these builds. Only thing that matters is if the owner loves the car so not saying my opinion matters. But I just think hood on the Camaro ruins the aggressive look of the car and makes it look like a toy car. Like hot wheels or something. That’s unfortunate but other than that it’s an awesome ride and I’m sure is a blast to drive.
