One of the best as speaches in the 21st century
As important a message now, today as it was then, as it has always been. Black is power. Black is human. Black is beautiful, Black is Truth. Black is our then, our now and our futures. I stand with and support Black empowerment and liberation ♡

I'm Hispanic with black ancestors in my bloodline. So I can say this much with full confidence; I was ASTOUNDED at the looks on their faces, as if this man said some **** he wasn't supposed to disclose or didn't get approval to say. Why is it that this man has not been heard from again? I find it all very strange and you hit it RIGHT ON THE NOSE. 🎯

It is you, trust me. When he mentions that they just do 1 close-up of the audience and you can see they like what they here
the fact that there was a petition to have him fired from grey’s for this speech blows my mind .

Omg if I was his parents I’d be so proud! They look proud and I know they are but wow… I’d be proud. ♥️🥰
On a scale of 1-10; this is a 20. I love how he uses his platform, his articulation of the issues - Jesse, I nominate you to lead the next Civil Rights Movement in this country. Power to the People...All the Power to the People, as I raise my fist head. He makes me feel so very Black and so proud - my brotha you do your people proud!

Very powerful speech. It brings tears in my eyes because he speaks the truth and it comes from deep within his soul.
It's not about the looks for him, his mind speaks for himself. Smart black man. We need more like him to speak the truth. Instead of getting caught up into this garbage of music to be an influence. Enough said!
I just saw a tiny tiny clip on Instagram and came here to find the whole speech! I only needed to hear a few words to know I wanted to hear the whole thing and that I will most likely totally agree!
Watching him on finding your roots brought me back here! This dude in all him light skin & blue eyes ooze blackness & the best we have to offer. This will always be an iconic moment
Man get him a taller microphone, he’s gon break his back

This man is just amazing listening to him was soothing he spoke raw facts and he was unapologetic looking wt his dad face when he talked was priceless ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
So powerful and inspiring!
Here I am searching for this years after it took place. Because it was very special. I am not a black man and I am not American, but my struggle is his struggle. The only difference is that, he asks for change on his country. I ask for change in the world. There will FOREVER be some form of oppression for as long as there is social inequality. For as long as we allow the wealth of humanity to be funneled towards the few while the masses struggle. Like Kropotkin said: "Competition is the way of the jungle, Cooperation is the way of civilization" Forget about color and gender or any other form of discrimination once you end social inequality. It will solve 99,999999% of all our problems, past, present and future. Just like that.

Really? I thought that doesn't happen. I have long wondered why when a person has a black parent and a white parent the person is always regarded as black, regardless of who the child grew up with. Barack Obama being one obvious example of this.

The biggest obstacle of enacting change in the black community is the lack of unity. Most people are just worried about themselves and a high percentage of black people grow up poor, so even if they do get rich, they just give the money right back to rich white folks in exchange for material possessions because they had nothing growing up. In order for there to be real change, first you need unity, because you can only do so much alone, but the government is afraid of what will happen if the people actually unite against them, so they do everything they can to keep us arguing with each other about religion, politics and even sports - so that way we're all too distracted to come together and fight for real change.
