For sure yeah, I think perspective is the main vibe of the video :)

I think you need to use A LOT more matt medium and flow improver if you want to avoid the tide marks seen on your model. The store bought wash you are trying to emulate is pretty thick. Oil washes are a lot easier. I recently tried a Gouche wash but but I had trouble with them not having enough pigment. Probably because it was a low quality paint though. Oil washes are more forgiving and even the cheap ones contain more pigment.

Nice work. I definitely make my own washes for terrain. Coming from a cosplay prop building background, we're all about the homemade acrylic paint washes, generally as our pieces are lifesize and miniature paints do not come in big enough quantities. I also like to wet mix on the go, either adding more pigment, or watering the wash down on the armour piece or terrain that I have built. I don't edge highlight either. 😂😁👍🏻💯🔥

Ooo that's really interesting, I didn't even think about cos players using washes and stuff! It makes perfect sense!

Good stuff. Being old school, I still use a 50/50 mix of filtered water and Future (Now labelled as Pledge in the US) floor polish. When I wish to make a wash, I add that mix on the palette to whatever colour pigment I wish to use, so you arent restricted to just black. You can vary the ratio to make it weaker or stronger as needed. I use it on terrain and figures. This used to be referred to as "Magic Wash" way back when. It can be a tad shiny, but since I am going to whack on a coat of matte varnish anyway thats not a problem. But all that aside, for figures the premixed stuff is pretty handy and consistent if you dont like to tinker. Cheers!

For sure, I think the strength thing is very important, I can't remember if I put it in the video or edited out, but making different strengths washes is one reason I Tend not to batch wash.

Nice vid, Jay. I am super cheap, so I'm running down my existing washes, before I make new ones. That said, the new ones will not be with paint. I cannot stand that having shake it up it always makes suds. Inks, from now on

Yeah I really wouldn't like batch make the ones with paint, the way I histrocially have done mine is just in a little tub as and when I want it. Thanks :)

What colours do u use as spraypaint? Using the Citadels from the minis feels way to expensive

Yeah don't use GW spray on terrain. In the uk you can buy cheap cans from home bargains etc, but yeah cheap cans from budget stores, generally for cars is a good thing if you can find them :)

Oddly enough, I could tell which was which. I am a painter though.

I think it is more noticeable on models with fine details, on a big chunk of terrain I think it would be less obvious.

does anyone knows why my blackwash leaves a white stain in the cracks¿¿

I like making 500mL batch so they'd be the same shade. I use distilled water, acrylics and matt varnish. Almost 3 years now and it's still haven't spoiled. I use regular tap water before and it spoils in a couple of months. Too much bacteria in it.

yeah I wouldn't use tap water :)

You can add dish soap but jet dry works way better.

@@TerrainMadeEasy So many questions! Is dis de way? Of the future! Do you know why they failed? Did you add supports? What printer did you get? Whats the print quality? Price of the mini in resin? Did you also get the curing machine? You got picks? What size is your base and height you can print too? Etc! 😇

I think enamel or oil paint washed are the best for figures just apply a gloss coat to make it flow around the recessed panels and details then apply a Matt coat once dried to seal it in. Good video though.😀

A bit too advanced for my terrain I think! But I have seen people use it and they do look good.
