Forgot about racial spells on priests, Trolls actually get quite a bit of love there, they have shadowguard which can proc blackout and applies shadow weaving, they also get a low cost ranged spells that reduces healing, berserking is handy for dropping out of shadow and casting 1.2 second flash heals or quick mind flays. Devouring plague on 3 min cool down with high mana cost.

Dont forget that priests get a specific race related skill. For example dwarf priest gets fear ward which is insane

And trolls were considered best pvp priest race by a recent argument thread horde wise spriest because blackout with their one ability mentioned in this thread.

out of curiosity what does the pvp trinket for rogues remove? I remember there were class specific CC removals back then but i can't remember which ones were the rogue specific. If you can answear that it will be of great help as i want to roll undead rogue but don't want trinket and wotf overlapping.

It's also worth noting that rogue's blind is poison in vanilla so stoneform is huge, taurens have a hidden trait and it's their larger hitbox, so about 1 yard extra reach for melee range makes hunter's deadzone 1 yard smaller.

Actually, night elfs also get increased stealth, it says it on the shadowmeld racial. So that can be a thing when facing other rogues or druids

Savix you forgot that each race has different base stat. For example : undead warlock has 22 intel base stat and orc warlock has 20 intel base stat (I don't know exactly the value)

Night elf is actually fairly on par with Dwarf for hunter. And I love dwarves lol. The shadowmeld ability is ridiculous for pvp for hunter. Set up a scene for defending flag or base, have a cat pet, both stealth, send that cat in first when you see your target, let them fiddle with pet looking for you not knowing wtf you are. then BAM AIMED SHOT! Uh oh a mage comes along gonna root you then stick to dead zone and PYRO! watch him cast that BS pyro like he's just got a free kill! FD>Shadowmeld. Mage sits there like "wait, wtf just happened? He disappeared?" (LOL HAD THIS HAPPEN) Then they go "oh wait that was NE! AOE and by the time they AOE you're already unrooted! It's also a really nice trick with FD to shadowmeld afterwards if not dots on you right when a melee on you to give them that wtf moment a second as well. The ability to stealth, even if stuck to one spot, is just amazing for hunter because you get the jump on someone before they ever see you!

Do keep in mind that shadowmeld for rogues makes you walk faster while stealthed, if your not a druid or rogue then you can turn invisible and wait to ambush...a Grand Marshal invisible in flag carrier room waiting for you to come with flag? PLUS a 1% additional chance to dodge everything?

shadowmeld is my favorite racial, ill wait stealthed beside well traveled roads....

I've always been in love with Orc racials for my PvP needs. But I simply enjoy Night Elf more, so that's what I'll be rolling in Classic

The weapon skill for humans will give you Hit chance in pvp, so you can gimp hit on gear for more power. You should probably read up on the importance of weapon skill in Classic, as for PvE the best stat you can have on your gear, until you get the 310 skill cap. All mobs above level 60 this will be important, and all targets with high defense. For PvE if you fight a boss, which will be level 63, he has 315 Defense skill, if you match defense skill in weapon skill. YOU WONT get glancing blows, Glancing blows reduce your white hit damage by up to 75%. With 310 wep skill you get about 2.4% more hit. You should maybe talk to some people who have actually recently played alot of Vanilla blizzlike servers, so you can understand the stats better.

Came here to watch savix make a detailed video, but stood mostly for the classic wow login screen music ;D

Just want to throw my personal opinion on Alliance Hunters, which race you pick is generally about if you want to be stronger solo (Dwarf), or stronger in pre-mades (Night Elf). You kind of underestimate how good Shadowmeld actually is, especially on Hunters. Shadowmeld is basically a weaker but very much useable camoflauge baked into a racial instead of a class ability, and that gives Night Elf Hunters amazing defensive capabilities in battlegrounds.

You underestimate the power of shadowmeld for hunters, especially in PvP. Being able to be invisible with a prowl pet sitting next to a flag, and when that one dude comes and tries to cap you can cast an aimed shot right at his forehead without him knowing that you are there.

Really, it's better for warriors and priests. You can use the arguement for hunters, but with their pet attacking while the owner is sapped, blinded, or stunned Shadowmeld falls out of favor for them in the case of rogues sap capping. It's excelent however for setting up ambushes, hunters can combine it with a cat pet in stealth for complete invisibility and good positioning for a jump, or bait people to max range with an unstealthed pet and a 'guard here' away from where you're shadowmelded. For druids, you already have a stealth, but at best it just saves you from having to swap forms. For warriors and priests however, it is AMAZING for defence or LoS if you know when and where to use it. Warriors can kite someone to lose aggro, shadowmeld, and bait the enemy into an easy charge. These two classes also benefit strongly for the defencive/flag guarding aspect of it. Baiting a rogue to try to cap the flag, and hitting them to interrupt is a gamechanger thay Priest and Warrior can't do otherwise - no more sitting in the open! It's a highly valuable tool, and it is an amazing racial, I really feel like it was downplayed here. But it's nothing in comparison to the LoS/aggro-drop Shadowmeld of retail, especially since DKs and DHs come along and increase the pool that can strongly benefit from the racial.

yo dude, shadowmeld on hunters is great man, you can aimshot people out of stealth and defend flags really with well positioned pets or use it as a defending warrior@flags vs rogues that tap cause they think you not there and BOOM CHARGE DED

BONUS: Priests have a race specific spell. Devouring Plague for Undead was awesome. For Alliance Dwarf Priests fear ward was good as well.

+ to weapon skill is pretty huge because getting hit cap is hard and warrior bis was edgemaster handguards that gave +7 to weapon skills.

+ weapons works like Expertice did, so it gives you +hit and reduced the chance an enemy will dodge or parry plus it will reduce glancing strikes aswell

As a tip from a warlock player in vanilla, orc master race. The classes that counter you the most (warrior, paladin, rogue) all stun. Also you should recommend going horde over alliance, though friends>race, because going against undead as a warlock is terrible, it specifically counters you the hardest.

yo savix, please do a comparison classes for pvp because i really don't know how every class was in classic/vanilla, and I'm sure many other people dont know it.

I don''t know how it was in vanilla but at least back in wotlk or cata from what I can remember Herbalism gave you this extra heal thingy? Believe it healed like 5-10% not sure though.

6:50 as I remember shadowmeld can be used for example to prevent someones casting time if you stealth before he finishes casting. Of course - out of combat. But yeah, not very handy after all.

The human perception racial was pretty strong that time. Human rogues could use it while stealth -> guarantee opener on other rogues and druids. Horde rogues were clearly undead superior, since you could use evasion against pretty all stuns and will of the forsaken was overpowered against shadows and warlocks. WotF also breaks the sleep from the green whelp amor. And you also underestimate the nightelf shadow meld. Since ppl died so quickly, having a stealth opener to begin with was a huge benefit for warriors and hunters. Also heal priests popping out of the shadows catched you off guard. Dwarfs could break blind and slowing poisons. War stomp -> heal for shamans was also really nice. Keep in mind when rolling orc, that there are just a few stun effects in the game compared to now: rogue stuns, druid bash, hammer of justice, blackout/impact procs and weapon procs.

troll priests are actually good with shadow orbs and their mortal strike curse, undead plague always gets dispelled by paladins and priests, shadow orbs with blackout can save you from rogues sometimes

you forgot that 1 of rogue's biggest counters is another rogue and dwarf rogues can stoneform all their bleeds/poisons and blind since blind is a poison in vanilla. the dwarf's frost resist increase also helps vs frost mages since rogues get kited by them easily

Err you're almost right with that 25% stun resist chance on Orc. It's not like the chance stacks every time you get stunned till it is guaranteed proc, but rather has a 25% chance to resist each time it occurs meaning you have a chance to resist every single stun a rogue throws at you, or you could resist none of them. Think of it like flipping a coin. Each stun you basically get to flip a coin. You *don't* get to flip it twice because the first stun didn't hit you.

Taurens are the best Shaman race for Ele and Resto.

Only true way to go in classic is naked rogue with a tabard and lvl1 daggers specced into cold blood. With a guild devoted to all mighty savix.

Something else very big to note: Blind from Rogues is a poison effect in Vanilla. Therefore Dwarf does pretty well vs them.

Beast slaying on trolls works against druids. Some of my biggest pyroblast crits were on bear druids during my Warlord push on my troll fire mage

guys remember to read the fine details. Orcs racial is 25% increase to BASE attack power. Not attack power in general. It is good, but not as good as most believe.

Constantine they will not change anything about the core fundamentals of the game. Engi for example was broken in vanilla for pvp, it will be guaranteed that it will be broken in classic as well. If people don't like that they can stick with retail. Blizz knows that if they fuck this up (for the real fans who asked for it, not the new people seeking changes) all hope for the Warcraft franchise will fail.

the human weapon skill is god like for rogues and warriors. (i know this is pvp video mostly, but that weapon skill is a huge diference in pve but also pvp ofc)

You need to talk about race specific abilities. For example only dwarf priests get fear ward.

Savix should be an actual college tutor. Watched the entire video & paid attention whole time, wasn't until after the video I realized It's 25 minute long, felt like a 2-3 minute video. Now I'm late for my raid :/

Just so you know, Troll Priest has additional racial and it's a curse that is a 20% healing reduction, so like a ranged mini mortal strike. Plus they get a shadow version of lightning shield. Which can proc Blackout stun and other things so as a priest troll isn't a terrible choice. But i'd never play it lol can't beat undead looks + devouring.

You are missing the fact that Nightelves have a racial increased stealth (less chance to get detected) as a passive (on their shadowmeld) and the fact that you can combo Shadowmeld+Feign Death as a hunter cuz FD makes you leave a combat. And also didn't mention that stoneform can be used as a pvp trinket to get out of blind.

Tauren is actually good for pvp that warstomp can be used against heals and even landing a FD trap.

Forgot to talk about Priest racials. Devouring plague was amazing for undead.

You can also use hearthstone or mount in shadowmeld, but oh well... Undead should get a 10, totaly OP racials.

wisp has pvp utilities, u can return faster than everyone after dying in pvp and then eat ur food and drink while invisible then pop out of stealth with full resources Nature resistance helps vs the ele shaman oneshots
