The small towns are the best , people are theirselves and usually full of vast history of their communities. You two are having way too much fun 🤩 enjoy every minute!

Every new place has something special. But this particular time in the Lake District was especially special. We’re so glad people are seeing this video. This village and these people deserve the exposure.

This was fun! We don't travel abroad. We reserve our funds for travel in Northern California, but, we are also into Electronic Dance Music (EDM) and it is a bucket list item to travel to London for an event, and THIS is how I would love to see England, and that is spending time in the countryside visiting pubs and talking with locals. Give us rolling hills, lakes, and a beach (and hopefully, warm(ish) weather. 🥤

We have been dying to edit this and when we did we worried that it was way too long. But after watching it through, we felt like it moved quickly and didn’t feel like it was too long at all. But the be we’re worried that it was just our biased opinion. We couldn’t decide what to cut, so we left it and have kept fingers crossed that someone will watch it just to appreciate the goodness we happened upon in this lovely village. We thought that the best part is that we’ve been hearing from the people in the village and they love it. But your comment is almost better. You don’t have a vested interest and you saw what we did: good people in a beautiful place helping newcomers join their happiness. Thank you so much for commenting!

@@welltravelledlife small town/village pubs and hotels are the mainstay of English life and lifestyle. It needs to be nurtured, appreciated and certainly showcased. Without that, it will curl up and cease to exist. On one of my videos where we stayed in a small village and it's only pub that's what the comment I got. And it is true. Stay in the large cites and the small places will shrivel up and disappear. We love country roads ( none are too narrow for me 🤣🤣) and enjoyed the inns we stayed at. We did the same in France mostly- sometimes you can't help but 'go big' but try to holiday amongst the people. Best experience ever. 🇳🇱🎄🇳🇿🙋‍♀

@@IamaDutch-Kiwi KZread has sent us some advice that we should select more popular topics to get more views. So, when we look at popular topics, it's all about big cities. We are doing most of the capitals, with an eye towards helping folks navigate and understand some of the history, culture or sites that we find especially interesting, but for how we want to live our lives and travel, it's got to be about the small villages. And the UK has done SO MUCH to make them attractive destinations. For the most part, the food in the pubs is exceptional, and the rooms now have ensuite baths, king beds, and tea kettles. We remember getting a room with peeling paint, a single toilet down the stairs and at the end of the hall and then eating mushy, boiled veg and greasy breakfasts.We couldn't find that anywhere (though we're sure it exists!) Norway, France, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands, and Germany will always find us in villages. And if we sacrifice views because they aren't the popular stops, that's an easy sacrifice to make.
