I wish they told you if the power supply comes with cables to power SATA hard drives as I have two 4TB hard drives of games. I hate to spend thousands of dollars and cant even hook up a hard drive without buying a new power supply or trying to figure out how to get extra cables from the Power supply maker. Also knowing how many extra M.2 slots are available would be nice. To spend thousands and only get 1TB or 2TB M.2 SSD is a crime. I had trouble with my external USB drive making my windows have to reinstall USB driver so I dont use it anymore.

I would also like to say that if you go full budget on the prebuilt systems with an RTX 3060. If the 3060 is the single fan (Pheonix), make sure you have excellent airflow in your case or you will see high temps over 85c. If you can ensure you get a dual fan or a larger case allowing for good airflow you should be good to go. I made that mistake and after getting a new case, my temps dropped almost 20c at full use.

Got into pc gaming in September, I don't regret it, but the market was still messed up. You showed a pc with my exact parts in this video and mine cost $450 more at the time of purchase. Biggest thing I've realized with pc gaming is there's always something new on the market. Had I known the 4070 ti Super was just around the corner, I would've most likely waited. We'll see if the 4070 ti can hold up to the newer titles.

Hi Jason. Another great video. I cannot believe some higher-end PCs only come with 1TB NVME SSDs. This is another component where you do not want to go cheap. If you want to recycle a 5 1/4 inch Blu-Ray CD player and/or add a nice-sized digital LED system monitor to the front of your case, I recommend getting a case with 2 or 3 5 1/4 inch drive bays. And, yes, they are still made.

4 days of research, 17 videos on CPU vs Gpu and combinations. i cant even begin to tell you how much the first 10 minutes of this video were the most informative, straight forward comparisons i ever found as to what are comparable units for builds, what to avoid and what is best. and pairing that up with pre builts that have proper groupings finally told me what i needed to know over all and thanks to you i have a solid idea of what i want and how much ill need to spend. ive been trying to find a build that fits my needs, but all i could find is videos about builds based on price points and budgets. how do i know how much i need to budget if i dont know what i need?? lol. this video told me what the teirs are for components, relevant builds, and based on the price points, told me roughly where i would need to budget to get something ill be happy with. all i knew was i wanted something 70 to 80% the power of a current top builds that can handle 1440p, VR and multi tasking with some upgradability if i should want to i know some people want a gaming pc now and have 1000.00 and need to know what the best build is for that price, but my philosophy is find what will do what you need and make you happy, and if it is more than your budget, either find ways to cut the price down, or wait a little longer and put more money in the budget. if the PC right for me turns out to be 2000.00 then i should save up for that instead of just getting something i can afford right this second. im shooting for 1440p gaming with provisions for VR gaming, CAD design and 3d modeling, streaming and light video editing. preferably something i wont need to upgrade for 7 to 10 years so im not ending up with lots of computer towers all over lol. i feel im roughtly in the ballpark of an i7 with a 4070ti thats 16gb and now that i know that, i can figure out the ram i need, the type of cooling and case size ill need as well as which board yada yada. once the cpu and gpu fell into place i could figure out what else i need and have a rough idea of cost, or at least i can make a shopping list to get an idea of cost to save up for which was ultimately my goal

@@kelley09162 i am getting a parts list together with prices and i can look at prebuilts, if i find one that is what im looking for for the same price or cheaper, then i can get that and save time, costs and hassles of building my own. if not, building my own would be fine. my goal is to find the system i need and want, then save up for it over a couple paychecks. i have money set asside i just need to know how much more ill need. the hard part isnt building as much as figuring out the parts i need to get to ensure it works correctly. my base requirements are minimum 16gb vram to cover what i need for VR, an intel processor with integrated graphics and at least 8 cores for productivity tasks i will need to do and i want a cpu and gpu that will compliment each other performance wise. everything else will be based on what the cpu and gpu are, which is why i feel an i7 and a 4070 ti super 16gb are probably a good combo that will last me a while. should be good for vr gaming while streaming and also productivity when im doing other hobbies and its solid 1440p gaming and still 4k compatible. based on a quick back of the napkin math its about 2100.00 over all, but thats without price shopping so probably less. ultimately i dont need it right away as im in a transitioning period, so by the time im ready for one, this will be good, or the same money could get me a better rig, my goal is by the end of summer but thatd close to the new line up of gear, so there might be some used 4090s going on the market for a lower price than the current price of the 4070 ti super lol

I love it dearly, but it was on the lower end, so, I'm looking for an upgrade as I get more into streaming and wanting to play some higher-end games. I will always prefer prebuilt, because I am horrified of accidentally breaking something expensive if I build my own... 😅 I'm glad there's some Cyberpowers on this list, because I believe they're pretty trustworthy. Lots of choices for sure! I'd say if you have any desire to build thats the best price to performance option (and can be a lot of fun). If not, there are some great prebuilt deals out there right now, and the advantage SI PCs have over consoles is you can upgrade them in the future. But then it comes down to preferred gaming style.

Jason, i know i have been coming back and forth and been bothering you with my unability to pick but- I have a question for motherboard's power phase, is it important for a 7500F? (MSI B650M-A WiFi for (8+2+1) 190$ vs AsRock B650M PG Lightning WiFi for (6+2+1, no nvme heatsink but supports gen 5 ssds)160$, and what do you think about ATX 3.0 psus? should i pau about 10$ - 15$ more for a PCIE 5 support? (Fractal Ion Gold 80+ 750W for 90$ vs MSI MAG A750GL PCIE5 for 101$) both of them is listed on A tiers but the MSI being on the speculative position, and i do plan on getting the 7800 XT, Thanks!

Getting a PCIE 5.0 PSU isn't that important since you're not getting a Nvidia 4000 GPU. The new PSUs come with the 12VHPWR Connector to match that of the 4000 Series GPU but since you're getting an AMD GPU it doesn't matter.

Jason, what are your thoughts on 7800xt vs 6800xt GPU, I been building my first PC and only thing left is GPU, but I struggle to pick against these two since some say 6800xt is better , some say 7800xt is better and gonna age better... My composition in case you need it: My PC is for coding and programing(Machine Learning and Deep Learning) + also to be good for gaming (not priority), also I am not person who plays newest FPS games (maybe sometimes) mostly strategy games like Total War. This is my build: Case: NZXT H6 FLOW (up to 365 mm (14.37) inches in length for GPU) so it should be fine with 68 and 78 hopefully. PSU: SEASONIC Focus GX 750W ATX 3.0, 80+Gold (ATX3-FOCUS-GX-750) Gen5, apart from dragon model 7800xt which said recommended 800W all others should be fine.. (p.s. its I think at least B rated on your list :D) CPU: Ryzen 7 7700 with Wraith Prism cooler included (Since its not overclocked version do you think included cooler is enough?) RAM: G.Skill Flare 2x16GB DDR5 6000 CL 36 (maybe not the best choice but what to do) Motherboard: TUF GAMING B650 +Wifi Storage: Samsung Pro 1 tb SSD THANKS for reading and really looking forward to your reply and advice as in all your videos

@@PCBuilderChannel it's not always as straightforward as some people like to make other people think it may be and that's a risk the builder has to be willing to take - do you have a video on that? or anyone for that matter? There may be many finer exceptions of incompatibility that not everyone would be aware of and I'm not talking about the most common stuff. I once lost my patience after looking / choosing for too long and only found this corner hardware shop open on a Sunday and they had the CPU and a motherboard with the right socket but little did I know or even got to think about checking on the spur of the moment - when I got home, it wouldn't boot - the motherboard was older while the CPU had just come out, and I couldn't very well upgrade the BIOS even if there was one available because I didn't have a CPU that could boot it... OK granted this was my fault but it's not always as straightforward as this and you have to keep up to date with hardware details.

Jason, I still remember back when you were roughly around 44k subscribers. Now you're at 410K and growing. You and your family deserve the hard work and dedication you've put into this channel. To you and yours, on to 500k and above subscribers!!!

I’m thinking about getting a 7800xt. I know it’s a 1440p GPU but will I also be able to play a bit of 4k? Also what would be a recommended cpu to pair with this?

That's a good GPU. As for the CPU the 5600, 5700X3D, 7600, and 7800X3D are all good choices.

@@kelley09162 thanks for the reply. I’m most likely going to go with the 7800x3D because I hear it’s the best for gaming rn. I just didn’t know if it would be overkill for this card. I see people running that cpu with 4090 and 7900xtx

@@darius_j11 that's fine with the 7800X3D and yes the 7800X3D is the best Gaming CPU you can get.

Out of curiosity what makes you recommend the 3060 over the 4060ti for 1080p? Is it just the vram? Cause I am sure the 4060ti is significantly better like 30-40% stronger and 8gb vram is more than enough for 1080p

  • @kelley09162

    @kelley09162

Yes it's the VRAM. If you can afford a GPU with more than 8GB of VRAM you should get one.

@@kelley09162 That doesn't really make sense though. Extra vram above 8gb is not necessary nor will it give any substantial improvement on 1080p 99% of the time. On the otherhand, the 4060ti outperforms the 3060 in every other aspect so it really is a stupid recommendation

Hey Jason, I play fortnite on the ps5 but I’m thinking about getting a pc. I’ve tried 1080p up to 4k. Definitely like 1440p. Do you know or have any more links on a pre build pc for 1440p that can reach 240 frames. This will mostly be competitive ( performance)

Really awesome and informative video as always Jason! Btw, 2 notes: On the first 4090 you show, the Skytech Azure, I have that one pinned on my Amazon prior to Black Friday 2023, and occasionally it has a $300 coupon from Skytech, and is only $3,099 rather than the $3,399. 2nd note, as someone mentioned in the comments below, a deal just came out, collaboration between BestBuy and CyberPowerPC, they are selling a bunch of really solid combos. Best one I've seen is the 7800X3D with the 4070ti Super, 32GB Ram, and 2TB nvme ssd for $1,999. (As mentioned below by --MFGaming--) Phenomenal deal imo! They also have a super solid 1440p build for $1,679 which is the 7800X3D with a 4070 super 12gb, 32gb ram, 1tb ssd (which would allow for future upgradability on the gpu at a well under 2k price point!)

depending on your monitor you dont need to spend much to achieve that. im using a 6800xt to play wow on a samsung 57" at 7680x2160 res at the moment while i decide on what card to upgrade to. in the open world high settings still run pretty well. raids not so well on certain fights but overall can play with settings right in the middle with no real issues. i have amd 5950x cpu with 64gb ram for rest of system for reference. depending on your budget you could possibly find a used 6800xt for ~$350 or a 6950xt for around $550 which would get you playing on maxed out everything pretty easily unless the monitor is 8k or something. before this 57" i had a rog pq34" monitor running 3440x1440 with everything maxed out and it had no issues. i also run like 100 addons which causes more stress on everything so a more default ui would probably work even better.

Looking at a prebuilt Pc with a RTX 4070 ti super and a R7 5700X. It has a RAM speee of 2400 MHz. Im new and this would be my first Gaming PC, can I easily upgrade RAM speed or is 2400 enough? The PC would roughly cost 1.400€ should I buy or not? Any advice?

That RAM speed isn't good. You want 3200 or 3600. You should be able to easily upgrade the RAM. I'm surprised there's a 5700X and 4070 Ti Pre-Built for that price.
