It all starts with day one, the psychology and determination to change. Find other outlets, maybe wood working, the gym, sports. Do something you love besides self destructive behavior. I was in your shoes (add drugs too) It starts with day one. Keep listening to JP and go for a walk with your family.

I worked for 8 years teaching a domestic violence prevention program to adujacated men. This statement is so true in the wheelhouse of male abusers. My family and friends would ask are you scared of the men in your group? I would reply, no, they need time and compassion because in my groups these tough men could figure out their weaknesses.

I'm 65 years old and have spent 54 years of my life buried by sadness, depression, over work, under achievement, parental distress and any other negative emotion that exists. The small miracle is that I didn't become an addict and didn't lose my sanity. Now that I've discovered Jordan Peterson there is even a slight possibility of finding a way back to the person I believe I was born to be. Nobel prize for this individual.

Isn't that brilliant - hope you are doing well. I'm kinda the same and I have to remind myself constantly that I am a work in progress - 'under construction' I say ... and that we all are and always will be... I'm always trying to get to point X or point Y.... so I have to stop that and remember that it's the journey that counts - even though that sounds a bit cliché! When we get to point X or Y great - but then what?... you know the first thing I thought when I read your comment was- I wonder did she clean her room - LOL - that's what I'm doing now and it's great - I am doing my loft - putting a floor down to declutter the house - right now it's a mess but I'm getting there! x

I stopped drinking so much, started working out, applied myself at work and cleaned my room, picked up my old hobbies and interests, got myself into some new clean clothes and started holding myself accountable. I already feel better after a week. You dictate your circumstances. You are in control of your life. Be the person you know you can be deep inside, the best version of you, even if it means falling a few times and getting back up.

I'm feeling so much love for humanity after reading the comments to those suffering in some way in threads. It makes me think that maybe we at all at our best as a collective when we are trying to help an individual. Maybe it's because we ourselves are individual in our own plights of suffering. But just taking each comment and then the whole of them into contemplation, my faith in us as humanity has been restored and multiplied. Love you all in your plights and in the ones you support.

I miss you Justin. We wish you survived, and wish you were still with us. Working out, thriving... you could've had half of all of this. I still think about you lots, and pray that you can find a way out. I love you man, I never forgot how important those 16 years were. Get better, brother.

God I need some anger rn, I need some maddening passion. Jordan Peterson always gives that, when I mess up, he gives me the passion and anger to strive for a better purpose with God and morality, as well as physically and mentally. Love this guy.

I understand that feeling. As Jordan Peterson says it "Do a bad opan, do the best you can but do it anyway" And I say it to people around me all the time "Say what you have to say, if you need to rephrase afterwards, then do that" I don't know to what degree it affects you but those who love you will allow you the space to grow, rephrase, course-correct etc, do you love yourself enough to allow yourself space to grow? Rephrase? Course-correct? All the best to you

You need to journal write rehearse, practice regularly and daily to yourself, pet, spouse and peers. kNOW what you know so thoroughly and backwards or else everyone around you will be all the poorer for your lack of not knowing what you know, how to spit it out in various ways, in various settings.

What? A prophet who didn’t believe in God? 🤔 what has he predicted? I’m curious. Has his predictions come true? If not he’s a false prophet yet I’ve never watched his biblical videos. I’d love to see them.

What always made getting out of bed in the morning easy for me was looking forward to completing a complex design on which I was currently working. I designed hydraulic power units that are used to control industrial processes around the world. My creativity was the spur that made working in this field so satisfying. I enjoyed the work so much that I didn't mind not being paid what I was worth.

Jordan; This rings true to each and everyone that we are best at doing the thing that draws us. This is a good final goal for those searching for careers, answers. If you are good with people and yearn for relationships then you are more inclined to be happy seeing and dealing with people. And for things you are better at envisioning constructive methods and building things that will stand over time.

JP is definitely spot on in his comments on helping others. There is no better feeling from your work if it involves helping someone no matter what that deed is. It doesn't have to be financial advice or academic advice. It could be as simple as helping someone plan a vacation or grow a garden. Sharing what you know..........as long as you are sincerely knowledgeable on the topic..........will leave you with a huge emotion of satisfaction and delight because it validates you and what you are doing here.
