This Is Easily the Most Important Speech Jordan Peterson Has Ever Done

Dave Rubin of “The Rubin Report” shares what he believes might be Jordan Peterson’s best speech ever. This the closing speech of the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship (ARC) conference in London. The conference was attended by 1500 invitees from over 70 countries, including dignitaries, politicians, and media people, all aiming to solve current global issues. Peterson's speech delved into the concept of identity and its connection to faith and responsibility. He argued that a proper identity is the union of faith and responsibility, and it is through service to others that we find meaning in life. He criticized the current trend of teaching young people to focus on their immediate needs and self-interest, arguing that this leads to misery. Instead, he advocates for a life of responsibility and sacrifice, which he believes leads to a meaningful and fulfilling life. He ended his speech by encouraging the audience to adopt this perspective and use it to make a positive impact on the world.

Doing this takes me out of my own selfish wants, needs and desires. And my experience as a nurse is right on point to what Jordan is talking about. I became a nurse to make a living, not to be praised as a wonderful person. But despite my own selfishness, my purpose is no longer the money but knowing I'm helping others get through another brutal day in this brutal life!! Jordan Peterson is a moral basket-case. He believes that anything that seems to have to do with the Bible is good, without question. He is a psychologist, but can't see the Evil Skeletor inside Netanyahu? I met Bibi many times when I worked at the UN in the 1980s, and he came across to me as a lying psychopath. Why didn't Jordan pick up on that, with all his training? Because Jordan has his head up the Bible's ass, and anything that seems to be associated with the Bible is good. Handing your own morality over to an ancient book and anything that seems to be related to it is anything BUT responsible citizenship.

@@johnsheehy4192 That tweet showed his Zionist agenda and lack of intellect regarding the historical context preceding the Hamas atrocity. The far right coalition government of Israel had been inciting an agenda of vile propaganda against Palestinians labelling them as animals to be eliminated before Hamas attacked. Peterson’s cry for attention within a social media feeding frenzy appealed to the narrative that attracted most clicks. I’ve long held the opinion he’s a blatant narcissist. This self seeking idiot tweet validated that view.

He is a shining exampe of how facing challenges head on with truth and integrity is the only way that makes sense. This is not meant to be a snarky retort, but a serious invitation to think about your motivations for making your observations about JP in the face of how helpful this man has been to literally millions of people worldwide. Why rob them of the help he has been? Sometimes when we honestly first study ourselves, we learn a lot about our own shortcomings and disorders. We all have a lot to do to first clean up our own shortcomings before we attempt to correct those around us. I'm sure you've heard of the ancient admonition to "First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your neighbor's eye." I am a father hitting mid fifties with my children growing up and I have spent many a time weeping in the shower and mourning the loss of their childhood. When children grow up, you feel a sense of loss. Especially when your sole purpose has been them. I am still not ready for the "nail in the coffin" when my daughter finally moves out. I know it is coming sooner than I want. That said, I hope I will be able to transition some of that focus on other things. I get reminded when I listen to Jordan that "those other things" are not me. Not taking up golf or hobbies I love. It is about exploring other ways I can serve others. That is likely easier said than done. Good luck in your journey.

I discovered the work of JP in hospital having been involved in a serious accident 5 years ago. I thought my life was over. He opened my eyes to a new world of possibility despite my acquired disability. It's no longer all about me. It's about my family, my friends, my community, my country. He is so right. Thinking about yourself all the time, and your plight in life, makes you miserable. There is a world of adventure out there. Embrace it - the good and the bad, and strive to make it better, starting with the smallest and most trivial of things.

Yes your son has learned to thrive despite the hardships he has faced and that is either a stroke of good luck or its the result of you accepting the responsibility to prepare him to exist and thrive in the world without you. There are many people growing up today who's parents either one or both did not accept the responsibility at the expense of leaving this Childs existence and their ability to thrive in the face of challenges up to luck. We hear this man speaking what sounds like common sense but today these ideas aren't so common and most certainly good idea to remind us that there is no difference between thinking about ourselves and misery. I dont believe he would include that idea if he was promoting that we take credit for our children's wins.

I was mostly raised by my grandparents. They were poor people from very high in the mountain who had to go down to the valley to work at the factory (before WWII). They barely knew how to read and write. Nevertheless they taught us well, the way Jordan just explains, taught us how to set up the table, clean the room, feed the chickens and rabbits, and a pig or a cow occasionally. With patience and with severity. What has happened to the world? We now need someone like Jordan Peterson to teach us what everybody knew 40 years ago?

Jordan Peterson’s video’s, speeches, and lectures helped to change the trajectory of my life. As a once misinformed and misguided female adolescent I was almost rendered completely hopeless after being fed poison; whether it was through social media, toxic family upbringing, teachers, and so on. His clear and concise way of putting things and passionate expertise really struck me. To see someone get emotional at times talking about the struggles young men face in modern society, or going down the fallout of having a devouring mother (which was a story very close to home), all felt like the hug I so desperately needed to not feel so alone in this world. His voice is a voice for hope in these times. Truly, sir, I know you may never see this- but thank you. I am so grateful I made it through to the other side.

More than you know my childhood was emotionally stunted with little affection, over control, little social interaction, depression. It took years and the help of an advanced fraternity brother to open my eyes about the human personality, another 10 years to forgive my parents. As a believer in karma and reincarnation, I understood the rationale for the emotional struggles. Big changes dont occur unless something big prompts them. I actually joined the army during Viet Nam War to escape my bad life and I came out mature, calm, motivated. My life continued to be a series of shocks, tests, disappointments, but I discovered the world of Spirit, studied metaphysics, found my own understanding of God and life. Personal relationships were not in my life plan so I remained alone, intellectual and wondering, observing people more than relating to them. I think Peterson is the answer to a lost, confused generation who need much guidance.@@kippered
