Great Vid!, I'm a proud owner of an 03 x350 4.2 in Australia, it is a fantastic car! I Love her! I think Phil did her just a little bit of injustice in some of his comments, maybe cos mine is BRG with more chrome and the Leeper on the "Bonnet" (hood to you Yanks watching 😆) she does indeed turn heads and people chat to me at Shopping Malls and Servos etc 😊 And yes I happily get up on a Sunday morning just to take her for a drive!! 💖💖 If I won the lotto I'd have the Bentley as well not instead of, The Aston? great car but being an old bloke, I'd rather have a DB 6 or 5 😆 Cheers for a great show! 👍👍👍

Good choice but for me it would have to be a DB4. The early models. Also a little fact about the Bond DB5 was actually a modified DB4. The DB5 was not ready for a few months and Goldfinger had already started filming so they just Badged it asa DB5. Beautiful cars.

@@NewtonInDaHouseYo Yea there was a prototype. The merc auto isn't a bad one but the later ZF in the 4.2 cars is much better. If they where to do a review it would be a bit silly to pick a 4.0 car as the 4.2 cars with the supercharger is just a better car.

The Bentley and the Aston are bona fide classics, the X350 isn't there yet but being the last of the classically styled XJ's it will be. I do hope so as I have an immaculate X358 (the facelift) .

For me, I'm all about wafty barges. But I bet the Aston is a sensational machine if the bank balance is never a problem. You have to give it to Aston, while it might appear to be a parts car (and by the way, thanks for telling us where the rear lights are from. For years I couldn't figure it out🤔😂) it was about getting volume sales and boy did they do it! Each car here was quite a pivotal moment in each manufacturer timeline. Good choice, guys! 👍🏻

You can buy one of these for the price of a new VW Passat. If you're only doing low mileage, as a classic car lover, wouldn't it be so much more fun to own one of these as a daily driver? Servicing costs would be higher, but the cost of depreciation would be negligible. I've spent the last 30 years driving stratospheric mileages in the likes of a Mondeo or Camry. But now I only travel about 10,000km per year at most. Should I be buying one of these as a daily drive?

I have a pair of V8 jags. All in w/maintenance they cost me sub 10 grand over the last two years, including a new engine for the XJ8. My sisters have dealer warranted skoda and Volkswagen, costing around double that on purchase, depreciate like you say, and even then one of them is forced into a (not covered under warranty) 1500£ oil-gasket bill. The odd big bill is inevitable but I'd rather spend a grand on a supercharged Jag or Bentley than a skoda...

They are all great cars but the Bentley is just not to my tast, I'm looking at a 1950 R type at the moment.

I think since you went all the way back to 1980 for the bently, it would only have been fair that you chose the x305 jaguar. The more classic lines and typical jag interior would feel more typically British but the 6.0 V12 would make the difference as a car that would get you out of bed just to go driving.

Dear Sir, with all respect, but I think you haven't understood the DB7 V12. The issue is not at all that it uses parts from other cars. Who really cares? Also, as regards your comparison between the 6-cylinder and the V12, the point is not that the latter is 0.98 seconds faster or has an extra 20 miles/h to the top speed. The point is the driving characteristics of the V12, which is light years better than the 6-cylinder. Also, the sound of the V12 is so much better than the smaller engine. And finally, it also about prestige: nothing beats a naturally aspirated V12 Aston Martin!

The Jag is the best of these 3. And getting a XJR is much better than the XJ8. The Bentley is garbage. The Aston is an overpriced XKR. The Jag gives you everything you want and can be maintained without going bankrupt.
