The fight against Dracula is a lot scarier when you realize that he was nowhere near full strength-- he was weak, impatient, and quick-tempered due to starvation. This was Dracula on his last legs, and he still nearly killed all three of them.

And I believe Alucard is having trouble because, what monster would want to kill their own parent without hesitation! Honestly this has to be one of the saddest stories I've ever seen! Hell I even fail to see Dracula as a villain at a certain point. I know it doesn't make much sense but there it is.

Dracula at full power would spam magic instead of going physical and would eventually transform into one of his many eldritch abomination forms when pushed far enough.

Meh, more like what my mother would say when she'd steel herself to open the door to the bathroom after I'd been in there for 30min from my all you can eat wing night + super spicy burritos.

While the show seems to show Alucard as a bit juvenile, canonically, he's almost always been emotionally distant, pessimistic and pragmatic. He's not some angsty teen but a broken man who's mother was unjustly burned at the stake leaving him with a mistrust of humans and his own father. Alucard's always had it rough which explains his stoicism.

Well, he's only 20 years old here. He hasn't had the chance to fully digest what's happened to his family because his focus after his mother's death was to stop his father. Only after he achieved that goal did those emotions finally hit him.

In Symphony, not only is he still most likely haunted by his father’s death at his hands, but Trevor and Sypha are also dead. His seemingly depressed demeanor in that game makes sense.

VikingFyre I’m not sure Dracula was at 20%, but then I don’t know the full limits of his power. That said, yeah. He was nowhere near full power. And he was still A LOT stronger than the Vampire Generals, to the point that the reckless and boisterous Godbrand didn’t want to tangle with him. Which should say something about Dracula’s overwhelming power.

We have three strong, charismatic leads for our main protagonists, and in Season 2, they're mostly inside a library. But then again, their banter is still one of the many reasons why this show is amazing.

No. He had his legs slightly spread. It makes your trousers go taught making it MUCH harder to injure your balls. Also, Trevor didn't hit him very hard.

@@Calleseculo There's not a lot of people who WOULD be immune to any kind of strike to the crotch from Dracula.

Logical theories which I thought of, 1. Dracula's cape is one of the reasons why people can't hear him moving, it absorbs the sound of his footsteps. 2. Alucard's life might just another repetition of Dracula himself, but half human. (Season 3 ending sort of gives it) 3. Alucard is way too mature for a teenager, which is impressive. 4. Dracula wanted to die to get back to his wife, but he didn't want his son to kill him and take the pain of it.

Love her or hate her, Sypha always be spitting facts. Especially about Alucard being basically a teenager. -Starts long conversations about people he claims to hate and not care about which proves the opposite being true (aka Trevor) -Shits on them every chance he gets (Alucard flipping Trevor off on his way) -Acting anti-social around the two but missing them hard when alone (Alucard’s dolls) -Son rebelling against parental authority -Mama’s boy -The traits of people he really cares about rubbing off on him (“Oh my god… I’m becoming Belmont”)

I still wanna know why when Trevor asked "did you hear that?" Alucard's mind went immediately to animals HUMPING IN THE UNDERGROWTH. XD Dammit Alucard, get your head out of the gutter! Also gotta love the fight scene with Alucard, Trevor, and Sypha storming the castle lol. Alucard transforming into a wolf and tearing Dracula's army to shreds is so badass! Gotta remind 'em that they're dealing with the son of Dracula! Even being only half-vampire Alucard is still easily stronger than most full-blooded vampires.

Love all the Symphony of the night references that Season 2 had. Slobra and Gobra together, the Sega Saturn version of 'bloody tears', his sword acting like the sword summon, wolf transformation, the castle design... Three might have been the main influence but so great to see SOTN get the love it deserves

God he is beautiful

What helps keep Alucard fresh is that he acts blasè about his clear issues instead of talking or referencing it all the time, and that his tone is always deadpan, which also belies that he is in fact a teenager. He certainly inherited his father’s relatively calm demeanor.

I like how his idea of class is a head butt to the face. Take that floating vampire jesus.

That's definitely gonna be in the best of Dracula. Like his whole monologue after he realizes he's in his son's childhood room is for sure gonna be in it

Alucard vs. Dracula, looking back at it, was probably a pretty big inspiration for the Omni Man vs. Invincible scene in Invincible, at least as far as adapting the scene for television was concerned, because I get the same kind of vibes of "standing up to your dad who is trying to conquer the earth, and getting your shit absolutely rocked, but still fighting and getting back up anyway because you care about humanity"

THIS is the Alucard I know and love. I hope he finds himself again. They hurt him so much in Season 3. 😔

Want to know something sad in Symphony of the Night? In the Reverse Castle segment, Alucard is faced with zombified fakes of Trevor, Sypha and Grant (The fourth member of Trevor’s group, a pirate who was good at climbing walls, who wasn’t in the tv series). Alucard was forced to cut down images of the first friends he ever had.

1. Didn’t have the time to mourn the death of his mother before being injured by his father for going against his revenge suicide agenda. 2. Chose to save humans despite: (a) his mother being killed by humans, and (b) him having to kill his father to put an end to the war. 3. Killed his father while he is in the state of remembering him as his son and feeling guilty for almost killing his only child. 4. Stopped the war but was left alone by his two friends because they wanted to go have an adventure. You’d think with all those books and knowledge around them, they’d have found a way to like seal or somehow protect the Belmont hold and Dracula’s keep with something. And then go in an adventure WITH ALUCARD instead of leaving him alone to get depressed by himself.

I love that Alucard and Dracula, when they're brawling don't focus alot on blocks or slips. Really only punches, which I wonder if that's because they're so physically strong they never really had a need to defend empty hand attacks.

When Alucard was names off a list of Trevor's "misgivings", it almost sounded like he was giving Sypha reasons for her to dislike the poor hunter so she'd favor him more.

"Come on, Belmont! Time to choose! You're either the last son of a warrior dynasty or a lucky drunk! Which is it?!" Gets me everytime.😁😂

I wondered what Alucard meant when he referred to the Belmont Hold as a "tip", so I looked it up. Apparently in England, a tip was another word for a rubbish pit or a junkyard. So, he's basically calling Trevor's family trove a dump!
