No stylist, no matter how much they charge, has EVER successfully been able to give me this look in my waist-length hair. I've asked for this cut before it ever became a thing or had a name. They've all said they would have to take off too much length and then defaulted to doing this tiny little angled line on either side of my face starting at my collar bone and told me that anything else "wouldn't connect" or would "thin out my hair." In the end, my hair looks exactly the same as it did before I went to them and has no movement, volume, or bounce. After the last failure and about the eighth high-end salon, I stopped even bothering to find people to cut it for me. I figured out how to do this exact cut on myself via KZread tutorials (not this one, it wasn't out yet) while only taking about 3 inches off the back that I wanted to remove anyway. It looks amazing and better than any cut a stylist has given me yet. Better yet, I hardly have to do anything to it at all to get the bounce and bend in the ends that I want. The layers take care of it all! So far I haven't even had to blow dry it. I don't care if this is a "trend." It's my signature hair look forever, and I'm doing it myself. Why stop wearing something if it looks great on you? PS. You can get decent DIY hair shears on Amazon for a relatively low price, but you won't know how sharp they are til you adjust the tension screw. I didn't know that, so I'm passing it on. The right tension on your blades is everything!

I’m licensed and have a hard time trusting other stylists with my hair. Is there a way that you could explain an easy way to diy this kitty cut? I’d like to do it on myself but I can’t hold my arms above or behind my head for too long. Is there another way to get the same results on myself? Tia P.s (you don’t have to do the tutorial on yourself if you don’t want to have this cut, but could you do a tutorial and just go through the motions on yourself please? Please think about it, I love watching your channels)

This! This is the cut I have been after, but cannot get the stylist to understand. This is going to be very difficult to do on myself, but I’m no longer willing to get stylists that don’t understand touch my hair. Like others, I so wish you could do a video showing how to do the cut on yourself.

Omg! I’ve tried to explain this to stylists so many times. I’ll say, “ I only want parleyed on the top and I don’t feel like I have a lot hair in front of my ear compared to the back so definitely leave some weight on the front. It never gets translated right. Where are you located & are you accepting new clients. I’d pay more for a good haircut! I’d love for you to cut my hair.
