For people having low rates - delete the glass. Spiders naturally spawn in a 3x3x1.5 area, but having a transparent block above allows them to spawn in 2x2 and clogs the farm.

The best version of this is actually pushing the witches into a bubble column and up to the afk spot where the trident killer is. This allows you to stand next to the kill chamber and also farm EXP.

I can really recommend the tinted glass blocks. The ones you make using amethyst. They're transparent but acts as a solid block in terms of letting light through but you can still put it over chests etc. and also mobs don't spawn on glass blocks

@RIAN-tj2ky Don't just use tinted glass (or any glass). Glass is very easily broken in comparison to other blocks. Best to use blocks that fit in with your surrounding area, while also not being invisible to you. If you build the entire thing with glass, then there is a high chance of loosing track of it. But use glass for a viewing window is fine. Besides, tinted glass is a lot more expensive to make than it seems. I once built a small house out of just glass. It's almost four months later and I still haven't found it.

does simulation distance matter for this? what about biome? mines in a swamp over water does this mater? mine is not working. Also what is the spawn rate typicaslly. how long do i afk to know if its broken for sure.

farm works fine. drop rate doesn't match but reducing the simulation distance helps. use tinted glass as the walls helps you see whats going on & keeps it dark.

Does this farm work slower if there are other players in your lobby? And also do ladders work as well as scaffolding or is there a reason for the scaffolding?

I was afk for 10-15 minutes and got over a stack of gunpowder, farm works good 👍🏽

i only got 20 in 10 minutes, but its good enough. Good design!

Not sure which is correct because it’s after midnight and I’m tired, but this farm will produce between 355 and 426 gunpowder per hour using the base rate of 71 every 10 minutes. If a stack is 64 then that’s 5.5 to ~6.5 stacks per hour.

Wasn’t working for me because I had water underneath my hut… I built 15 dirt blocks out on each side from the farm to make a big dirt square around the farm to fill in all the water and placed torches on top also deleted the glass block because people were saying it was clogging the farm. Seems to be working now I was getting around 4 gunpowder per hour and I just afk for 5 minutes with the new build and I’ve gotten 30. Hope this helps

Mine was over water as well and I can't get it to work. I will try your techniques.

Built on bedrock and triple checked and tried remedying myself and couldn’t get it to work, my witch hut was on water but I built dirt all around and still couldn’t work

Just built this! Was really skeptical at first because of the biased comments but as a bedrock player on xbox I can say it currently works & is a game changer! Earned a new sub & seriously thank you! For anyone looking to build this I reccomend breaking the glass block due to spiders clogging the farm. & found afk works best on hard mode with looting 3 sword - lots of drops got about 4 stacks of gunpowder within less than an hour.

Okay, so i built the farm like the tutorial, broke the glass block like the comments said, killed the witch and cat and i had 1 spider spawn in 30 minutes that i had to kill because it didnt land in the trident killer. Killed the spider and replaced the blocks. AFK'd for another hour and got nothing. Im on Xbox Bedrock 1.20 on a realm. The next closest witch hut is about 600 blocks away so i dont believe the witch that spawned at my hut wandered that far in less than 20 seconds as there was only one witch near this hut. Im not sure if i messed something up or if the farm just doesnt work. Any help would be appreciated.

Does the cat have to be killed, or can it be tamed and taken elsewhere? I'm asking this because I'm a cat person

Can we do it without the trident killer? Al though its easy to get trident in bedrock its still a hustle

If it is not working destroy the glass after everything else is built it worked for me

I mean no hate towards the creator but before i waste my time i need people in the comment section to let me know if it works. I play on ps4

So I built it once and it worked like a charm, next minute it completely broke cause I fiddled with the hopper system, I moved witch huts and found the second closest one, which was in water. Will they not spawn if it’s over top of water?

Mine was over water. I just built a platform under it and it works fine

It worked better for me as a healing potion farm than a gunpowder farm

Nice simple farm. Easy to build in survival, just how I like em. Couple tips: 1. You can make the walls out of tinted glass. Still dark inside and you can see in to see what’s going on 2. If you water log the pistons, it makes the trident killer far more effective, as tridents do more damage underwater. Enchanted tridents further increase damage (no loyalty enchantment though, as that will make the trident return to you after thrown. Not sure about riptide, but best not to have that either)

I made a test exactly 10 minutes i have gotten 12 gunpowder with looting 3 thats bad rates in 10 minutes i can easily farm around 1 stach running around killing creepers

Delete the glass block. It allows spiders to spawn in a 2x2 and clogs the farm

Anybody who says this farm doesn't work, they just messed up while building it. I just built this, afked for 2 hours, wound up with 3.5 stacks of gun powder, among lots of other stuff as well. I'm on the latest version of pocket edition bedrock. Really its just finding a very specific coordinate in the hut, building a box around that coordinate, put a trident killer and collection system underneath, and wait 27 blocks up. Nothing to it.

if i’m playing on a world i made during 1.16, do i have to find a witch hut in 1.20 generation or can i use an old one?

just currious, how does holding the sword help if you are not actually using it? I think I hanv edone everything exactly the same, including the looting sword, but I am getting 10x less drops.... it is very slow.

Because the game sees the trident kills as a player kill so if you are holding a looting sword it applies that effect. Make sure you are the one who throws the trident in the killer

Fun fact: the witch that spawns with the witch hut when you first load the chuck is permanent till the player kills it.

Loot just stays up at the top doesn’t go to chest how to fix pls help?

You can but people use trident killers cause if you hold a looting sword then the looting gets put on the tridents and gives you more drops. Wont happen with campfires and such

Dig out the ground under it and add more Chests or a full blown item sorter. Find a sorter tutorial and build it with the current bottom storage chest in place as your "input" chest for the sorter system

Do I have to use the triden killer? Could I use a water path that leads to a soul campfire?

Probably, but using a trident killer counts as the player killing them meaning you can hold a looting 3 sword to pretty significantly boost the farms drops

@kappalux9551 I don't believe so. The witches don't respawn instantly. If you want to talk about AFK torture, try building a Ghast farm. An Hour of AFKing and I only got 46 ghast tears. And that's assuming the Magma Slimes don't break the farm. Or the Ghast doesn't spawn outside the trap and spots you from below. :(

I only got qround 34 for 30 minutes so far but atleast it works

This farm is not working for me. I’m on ps5. I don’t know why it’s not working. There was no cat at all could that be the problem. I looked all around and could not find it.

Tip: dont go so far to the point you can no longer see the farm when trident is being pushed by the pistons

Works perfectly in mcpe 1.20.60.❤❤...i thought that won't work because of negative comments.

Doesn't really work for me. Once the witches land they take out the Minecart and the trident falls. So I have to do it manually

It might be the best but in my survival world nearest witch hut is about 8000 block away from my base through nether. So i don't think this farm is for me

I did not find this farm working in bedrock 1.20.6 update in this or the 9 month old version of26 and the 27 scaffolding ranges of the current version

Nothing spawning and it’s on hard mode and I built it right😢

RIP to Survival players that had to build this over deep open water, because that's the closest witch spawn to base.

tried to build it in my realm, and it doesn't work. Nothing spawns in and I have no idea why.

It's looting not fortune. Try breaking the glass according to other comments as this will stop spiders from spawning and clogging it

You dont have to kill it i tamed it and used it for a creeper farm like 5000 blocks away

The rates won’t be as good as he showed you, I’m guessing he spawned the stuff in bc you would always get tons of health potions when looting 3 is on witches

No but if you forget to turn of the piston when you go out of the chunk it will fall out of the floor and go underneath the farm

I just built this! Its been running for half an hour and im getting some gunpowder but not as much as in the tutorial. Otherwise works great for getting the other drops. Most frequent is sticks.

Console is bedrock edition. Anything from Bedrock MC KZreadrs such as 1UP, Silentwhisper, and JCPlayz will work on consoles no problem. Where you will run into issues is with Java based YTs such as Pixilriffs, and Wattles. But those 2 generally will give you the caveat that "this farm is Java only" such as iron farms found on their channels.

Anything that says best for Bedrock weather in the title or poster says then yes it will work on bedrock. That includes console (ie Switch)

Although 1upMC's tutorials tend to work on console (I'm on Xbox and will be testing this one), being a Bedrock tutorial does not mean it will work. Regardless what the others are saying. PC's Bedrock is not the same as console Bedrock, though they are very close. I've tested many Bedrock tutorials on my Xbox and dress than half have actually worked. And not due to updates. For Example: I've followed multiple Auto-sorter tutorials for Bedrock and there always seems to be a redstone issue. Usually the placement of the redstone torches have to be moved for me to a different spot for me to get them to work. Or a button, or a lever. Or they just don't work. Example #2: I've followed 1upMC" mini iron farm tutorial and it refused to work until after I got at least 23 villagers breeded and beds for each. I even improved on the design by not only turning it into a trading farm, but had the iron flow up to my main storage area. Oddly, cats never spawn in my iron farm. Not even once.

Drowns hate dropping tridents in my trident farm. :'( Side Note: I saved the cat. The closest witch to my base is about a 100 miles away and past a ocean and ice biom. I tamed it and took it back to base via boat. >^_^

Love this build! My question for you is; is there a build on bedrock and a way to filter the bads into a pit of lava or fire (flint and still strike) with out having to dispose of unwanted items manually? If so, could you/do you have a video of that build?

Yeah if you look up 1upmc's item sorter video I've built that one several times and works great and can just link the overflow chest up to a dispenser to spit out the junk.

I feel ya, kid. But It's best if you do it yourself. Or get friends to help. That way you learn and can make your own designs. I struggle with farms as well and have a friend that's a genius at it. But I insist on making my own builds, so I can learn. I do ask him to give it a look over when I can't get it to work. But before he has a chance to, I tend to discover the issue. The hardest part seems to be getting material for builds. It's why I keep my builds tiny. If I can make it small, then I can make it large if needed. For Example: I made a tiny phantom farm with just a couple fences and spider webs. I designed it to resemble a umbrella. And it worked! So I went and build a tall tower with a two-way bubble elevator. At the top, I built a large covered platform that is open from all sides. The roof is mostly open and spiderwebs covering it and a few on the sides. And it works beautifully. As the phantoms swoop in, I dodge and they move up and get stuck in the webs for the kill. Sadly, phantoms are very slow at attacking, but still beats standing out in the open and hoping for a kill.

Side Note: 1upMC's chicken farm stopped working for me. The cooked chicken and feathers now refuse to fall through the slab and into the hopper. Not sure why.
