Everyone don’t have a smoker or grill. I don’t, but I love brisket. And….. we don’t cook anything outside in my neighborhood anyways. If the bugs and heat don’t kill you, a stray bullet might. So, sure it’s better another way. But, this is a good alternative to people in similar circumstances as I. Or people who just don’t want to do it outside. Thanks!

most buffets make oven cooked brisket. its just as good as smoked, just doesnt have the smokey flavor. you can leave more fat on it too so it all renders down and keeps the brisket super juicy and tender

I think instead of neutral oil, use liquid smoke
Why pat it dry to put oil as a binder? Try mustard next time

@@Max_Krypto then I tried to season conservatively, but the brisket got a MAGA hat and told me to go back to Mexico
Its a great oven bake. But you just don't get the same fat rendering from the oven as you do with a smoker

There is a cheat for that, you simply brine the brisket for 2hrs in tender-quick and the fat renders much better AND gives you a smoke ring on the oven

If you don’t have wax or parchment paper don’t worry about it. Foil is enough, cover tightly
how long for medium rare?

You can’t cook this medium rare. Not this cut of meat. Needs to be cooked slowly for a longer period.

Okay a couple of things, first off you need to trim more fat off of that thing because that fat is not rendered its gelatinous and white, secondly why the heck are you slicing that brisket like that that's not how you slice a brisket please learn how to do that. Thirdly your brisket doesn't look bad, it actually looks okay in my opinion, the reason I say it looks pretty good is that some of these " barbecue experts" smoked brisket on BBQ pits and they come out looking exactly like that with no smoke ring and no dark bark. So for an oven that's not bad.

@@daintybite to be honest with you the brisket actually looks pretty darn good. Cook's perfectly, just make some minor adjustments and trim it right and you should be good to go

I personally remove the fat before serving. I keep it during the cooking process for flavor.
Brisket should never touch an oven. A good brisket should also never need BBQ sauce. If it is smoked right, it will stand on its own.

We all love smoked brisket. This one doesn’t need barbecue sauce, it’s optional and not everyone has a smoker. This recipe always comes out great. It’s the perfect way to cook any flat brisket in the oven.
