Best Ever Roasted Chicken Step by Step| Whole Roast Chicken | Secret To Crispy Chicken you Can also make Baked Chicken Drumsticks by using the same recipe.
Ingredients
1 young chicken
1 tbsp Thyme
2 tbsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp cumin
2 tbsp onion powder
1 1/2 tbsp garlic powder
2 tbsp creole seasoning or any poultry seasoning
1 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp adobo seasoning
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
2 tbsps unsalted butter
2 tbsp oil oil
Bake on 340 degrees for 1 hour

Lord have his mercy but this recipe is outstanding. I have made 2 whole chickens and a pan of drumsticks. Buy far this will be my favorite baked chicken recipe. I go a lot less on the thyme though bcause it’s too strong for me. I absolutely love it!!!

340 degrees for 1 hour... I have the oven and salt but no seasonings and not enough money to buy butter...Hopefully it still tastes good, wish me luck! 👍
I'm in my 50s. I've been baking and cooking for decades and not once have I cracked my chicken before baking. Trying it now, bird is in the oven. I adjusted the seasonings based on what I had in my cupboard. Thanks for showing me a new way at an old thing.
We tried it and it was by far the best chicken I ever had and I’m 70 yrs old.
I made this last night for dinner and it was AMAZING!! So tasty and juicy. I thought it would be salty, but it wasn’t at all. Next time I’ll do a light sprinkle of some fresh lemon juice to add even more flavor. This chicken was 🔥. No more store brought rostisserre for me, thanks lady!

I tried this and its very delicious! Loved it! Thanks for sharing. I added cubes of unsalted butter underneath the skin of the breast and thigh area for more moisture and juiciness.

I made this the other night. I don’t normally follow the recipe, but I did with this one almost. The only reason I didn’t I ran out of Italian seasoning. It came out GREAT, the whole family loved it. My husband said he want to try it on the grill.

It's all in the rub seasoning, 100% agreed! I like to rub mine on dry skin though for a crunchier skin bite. Love this alternative approach though, definitely a must for bigger chicken!!!

@@ATX_YM cast iron will cook a little better but a foil pan is good enough especially if it’s better to just discard at the end of the feast for a fast clean up.

I agree! Usually cook mine for 1hr 40mins! At 1 hour I found the chicken is still not fully cooked. Other than that, this chicken is a hit every time. I’ve cooked it multiple times!

THIS WAS DELICIOUS!!! I made two. The only thing I did different was turn them breast side down in top of a bed of thinly sliced onions. Since I did two, I think I should cooked them for 10 minutes longer but I was afraid to dry it out.
I made this yesterday and it was delicious. The original recipe had too much salt for me so I didn't add regular salt since the Tony's and Adobo seasoning has salt in it. In the end, it was was still a little too salty for me but my friends loved it. It was my first time making a whole chicken so thank youuuu.

Adobo, salt, and Tony’s area deadly salt combo Lml. If you use adobo you definitely don’t need Tony’s and vice versa

@@oneday5572 I agree! When I was preparing her baked chicken thigh recipe, I thought her recipes called for a lot of extra seasoning. I had to wait for my ancestors to tell me to "stop." Now on, I just use her choice of seasonings. Not her measurements.

I was searching recipes for baking a young chicken and stumbled across yours and when I tell you this recipe is better than any rotisserie chicken I've ever bought *BELIEVE THAT* !!! I was skeptical about using cumin but the measurement added the perfect amount and another layer of flavor. It was delicious! Dark, juicy, and tender just the way I like it. Thank you!

I’m currently using this recipe for a 3rd time & it is always very good. I’ve used the same cooking technique with different seasoning and it was always good, but this specific combo of seasonings is one that I like a lot. Thank you ♥️

I made my own baked young chicken and it was surprisingly a complete success!
My family loves this recipe and I think cooking at 340 instead of 350 actually gives the breast a chance to not dry out! Genius! One thing I always do while cooking this kind of chicken is to base it like a turkey here and there since so many juices accumulate at the bottom. I also go a little less on the seasoning depending on the size of the chicken. Love love love this thanks so much!

@@blackempress2391 I baked it uncovered and the chicken wasn't done after 1 hour! I put it back in the oven for 30 more minutes! It never got golden brown! 😒 I'll try it again later, right now, I'm eating a bowl of cereal!

You have to make sure you’re not opening the oven frequently. Each time you do, the oven temp can go down.

Based on the size of the cast iron pan I would say just a little over 5 pounds.

I did this today after watching tour video. Instructions were easy to follow and it came out great
One thing I must note, it does not take 1 hour at 340F. It takes about 2hrs tbh.

Mine took 2 hours to reach the internal 160 degrees all around. Baked at 350 degrees.

This a GREAT QUESTION!!! Can this be done on a glass pan? Covered or uncovered? & also, can I make it inside the oven bags (you know when those bags that help retain all the stocking/juices within the meats and veggies) @340?

She left the chicken uncovered, this is why she had a low oven temperature of 340 degrees instead of 350 degrees so it would bake slow and at the same time make the chicken juicy (not dry) and skin crispy. She used the cast iron pan, so it would evenly distribute the heat too.

@@ailynandino6255 she baked it uncovered in a low temperature of 340 degrees (1 hour) and used the cast iron so it would evenly bake. But if you don’t have a cast iron you can bake chicken in your dish or aluminum pan, it’s not in stone to just use a cast iron pan. Same if you prefer to cover and uncover the last 30 minutes in the oven. Remember every oven varies, so always use a thermometer to make sure your chicken is throughly baked. Although the bag can also be used too, the chicken skin will be crisper if you cut the bag open the last 30 minutes. Hope this is helpful! 😊. Happy holidays! 😊❤️💕
