Wonderful explanation Doctor. For me low carb method worked. I was not obese but I started putting on weight with my normal south Indian diet. I can't cope fasting.Low calorie and low fat duet did not work. I changed my everyday diet to a low carb diet.i did not follow like keto or Palio diet also. I just cut down carbs like bread rice ,sugar,iddlie,Dosai chappatti etc significantly. Increased Protien, good fat,eggs , and veg, nuts.. Now I have got used to this kind of eating for few years now and it's working well.

Hi doctor, I followed a keto diet with 16:8 intermittent fasting for the past 10 months and have lost 32 kgs. I started with 130 kgs and now I am at 98 kgs. Its an on-going journey and planning to reach my target weight of 80 kgs. Also my BP, diabetes are under control and have stopped taking medications. This was a life-altering experience at the right point in my life. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and educating us on this subject. I am sharing your videos with my friends and family whenever I get a chance.

@@vasanthimani76 hi mam, I avoided refined carbs like rice, idly , chappathi etc from the diet completely. I have my breakfast at 10 am, lunch at 1pm and finish dinner by 6 pm. Have 2-3 black coffees without sugar as a refreshment. Sample menu for veg diet, if you are non veg, protein can be replaced with chicken/fish: Breakfast: Sweet potato, Soups(mushroom/brocolli/pumpin/veg), Chia seeds pudding, Adai, ragi/kambu dosa Lunch: Boiled veggies with cheese/cream, kootu, poriyal , white pumpkin with curd raitha, cauliflower rice with any side dish. Dinner: Paneer tikka, mushroom tikka, Chilli meal maker, chilli mushroom with different type of marinade. If I feel hungry in between, I take nellikai juice, eat some peanuts, badam. You can experiment with the menu if you are good at cooking, which I am not. It might seem difficult at first but I got used it within a week. Once the body gets adapted to ketosis, you will not feel hungry during the fasting period. This is more like a lifestyle change and inculcating healthy eating habits than a diet. Happy Healthiness!
